Mahrez | Signed with City

Well, you're talking about the team that has shipped the least goals and leading the league by 12 points. There was no emergency to get a CB in a January window, in front of LB where they didn't have cover. Just shows what an insecure guy Pep is.
Us and Chelsea have conceded less than them.

Thing is, any one of Jose, Conte, Allegri, Ancelotti or even Zidane can get the current City squad to be favorites for the domestic treble and outside contenders for the CL. The most I can credit Pep is the fact that when he works with a top squad, his football is more aesthetically pleasing than the other five. But in terms of trophies, identifying players with unlimited cash, etc., it is not a big deal for any of the above managers - I don't think Pep has proven to be better than them even if he wins the quadruple this season with all the spending.

Now you realize City had a lull in their spending since Mancini. Probably didn't trust Pellegrini and were holding out for Pep. Now that he's come, they are making some massive power plays in the market.

I'am no fan of city and I'am no pep lover either but I find these comments very strange. Like Mourinho didn't have worldclass players when he won all those trophies and isn't trying to get worldclass players in here at United and spending alot of money in the process.

What a pathetic insecure man and club; Pogba, Carrick and Fellaini are out so Mourinho drafts in McTominay. Pep has to harbour a couple of injuries for a few weeks and goes full retard and needs another expensive toy because £50m back up Bernardo isn’t enough.

that's why he's been playing Fabian Delph at left back all season then and still hasn't signed a left back

He’s just signed a left-sided defender for £60m, who’ll likely see out most of the rest of this season at leftback. Keep trying to defend St Pep though....

He also has a spare £30m Brazlian John O’Shea signed 3 months ago from Real Madrid to play there - Mourinho’s been using Ferguson’s geriatric wingers at fullback all season and forged the best defence in the league.

Is that confirmed? I wouldn't want that to happen...
no it came from the Sun and France football, France Football in particular have ran a "Mahrez leaving Leicester" story every window since we won the league as though it was a done deal
Or he just likes throwing money around just because the club can.
if the club will do it any manager would, including Jose

Jose also went to Anfield to get a 0-0, Fergie would have been embarrassed to do that

60 million for Mahrez is a joke in the current market. What are they smoking at the Etihad?? We live in a world where Van Dijk costs 75 million and Coutinho 140 million. If I'm Leicester I'm not accepting anything less than 100 million for Mahrez.

Cheeky swoop please Jose.

Even with Sanchez here, I'd still love Mahrez.

I know I'm being greedy but oh well.

Difference is, Pep would choose only the clubs that do it.

Short memory. He would have regularly taken an away draw at anfield and regularly set up the same way to nick a goal from a set piece.

A player is injured for less than 2months and City panic buy a 60m plus player:wenger:

What happens when Sane is fit, what do they do with Mahrez then? Why not play the 50m attacking player who's barely kicked a ball for them this season or promote someone for their fabled academy?

And even if the club was willing, you get the feeling at some point the managers like Jose or Ancelotti themselves will say "Stop, we have B Silva and we will get Sane back soon, no more needed". Pep on the other hand, seems to like dealing in excesses. He always was quirky, mind.

And Pepists say Jose is check book manager

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt as you're a Leicester fan, but when it comes to Fergie, this comment shows you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Pep played for draws with Barcelona away from home in CL.

Foden about to drop even further down the pecking order.
How do you even make that work when Sane, Jesus, Silva come back and already had Bernardo Silva as back up.

As do most managers worth their salt, it's the smart thing to do. Avoid a loss, try nick a goal. It's not like we've done exceptionally well at Anfield most of the times we go there.

Highlights the insanity at their club when they want to throw £60m plus on players because there is an injury. He's just signed Laporte too after buying Stones for £50m last summer, that means one of these expensive CBs are mere squad cover. Just madness.

Might as well remove 'Leicester' from the support tag if his posts on this thread are anything to go by.

It's not a criticism just that Pep isn't special in that regard, he has shown some pragmatism in the past too.

This is getting beyond ridiculous now if they actually sign him.

And how exactly did your bae get on at Anfield?:lol: What a silly post.
I'm not a Pep fan just don't think he's the devil incarnate, nor do I think he is spending any more money than Jose would if he was at City, the entire transfer market had gone to shit after Neymar

you already do, have done for years, you just don't like it that the neighbours are now richer

Wait a second. We have spent millions on players to fill the squad? I dont think so. We have spent money on first team players. What I mean is I dont think we have spent big money on an established player who would go to the squad rotation and not in the first 11. Open to correction.

Signing a player for 60M+ just because one player gets injured for 5-6 weeks has nothing to do with Neymar transfer.

I wonder what the media spin would be if City spent £60/70/80m on Mahrez just days after poor Pep protested his plucky group of underdogs just darn can't afford to spend that much on a single player
