Television Mad Men | SPOILERS

You're all wrong. Chauncey's the best character.

Yeah Roger is king. Of the recurring players, Ginsberg was my favourite. I also like Dawn, she's a babe.

I kinda thought Ginsberg was a bit of a missed opportunity. He was introduced superbly in season 5 and had that great scene with Peggy where he revealed his backstory. He was also built up as potentially being a creative threat to Don with a conflict between them, but it never really materialised. Although his meltdown also was kind of funny in a darkly comical type of way, that the show is often so great at doing.

I think my favourite secondary character was Sal for a long time, loved that character. Roger obviously is immense, and Pete is a wonderfully developed character.

I'm so sad this is coming to an end :(

Really tempted to watch the next episode when it comes out as normal but then miss a week so I will be able to watch the final two episodes at once. Did the same for Breaking Bad, was quite enjoyable.

Some of these early episodes are rally fantastic..."How do you sleep at night?" "On a bed made of money" Seriously, Don is the king. An honest to god piece of art.

EDIT:  I forgot Rodger came onto Betty!

What a terrifying episode. Although Roger playing the keys and Peggy rollerskating past probably got my biggest laugh of the season.

Also, Betty's a goner. "I'm younger than you and I always will be."

"It's an octopus pleasuring a lady"
"You should see the floor they've put me on. It's a nursing home!" Sterling is brilliant.

Excellent episode. Don is a gonner I think - doubt anyone who knows him will see him again. The last episode being titled "Person to Person" now makes me suspect he changes identity and starts a fresh.

Very, very interesting article with a guess at how the series may end. It is of course a finger in the air kind of thing but interesting nonetheless. I think it's worth a read, obviously they are not spolers but a very thoughtful guess at how it may end. If it was indeed how it ends I would just have to say that hands down Mad Men is the greatest piece of television-as-art ever made.

EDIT: The more I think about it, this would be mindblowing.

EDIT2: Does not contain spoilers as such, but is a viable ending so it is possible. If you don't want to know the possible ending, don't read.

Wow.

I know...if that is actually how it ends, I just could not describe how phenomenal it would be.
I'm just a tad disappointed I read that now. If it ends up like that, it'll take the surprise away, and if it doesn't, I might be disappointed (unless the ending is great in its own right).

Not sure I'll be bothered if it doesn't, but if it does I may just stand and applaud alone in my living room . Added a note to my previous post to warn people that the speculation is a viable ending and not to read it if they don't wanna feel how RiD is now.

French, lonely, and worthless?

I'll pass.

I'm not reading that. I shall resist.

Yeah, I'm not reading that.

Good lads. Duffy ruined it for me, the Chelsea supporting piece of shit.

Feck off!

I don't feel that lonely.

Anyway, I thought that whole episode was great. Had a kind of eerie feeling to it, with the ghost, the organ playing (which ended up being hilarious). All the new characters being added made it feel almost uneasy, which each of the SC&P people trying to find their way in the new business. Don seemed to be settling, until that meeting. Seemed clear that he's not going to adjust to McCann, however much Hobart wants him to. Peggy confidently striding into the office at the end was brilliant: she's almost become Joan in a certain way.

The organ/roller skating scene was phenomenal - "once more from the top!"

It's such a Roger thing to do.

He's never taken himself seriously, and seems to have just treated the whole thing like one big laugh. He'll spend about two weeks at McCann and then pack it in.

He had about 5 great lines in that scene alone...

"Youre gonna turn up drunk? At 4 o'clock? On your first day?"

That and the one about practically working in a nursing home. I'm gonna miss his quips.

So getting a canvas of that for the wife for her birthday.
