Do you want LVG sacked?

I originally voted to evaluate at the end of the season, but we've unraveled completely the last couple of weeks, to the point where I have a hard time seeing us even getting top four unless changes are made.

Even after last season I had doubts about LVG being able to get us back to the top, where we should aspire to be, but never up until a couple of weeks ago would I have imagined us spiraling downward so badly under his control.

Now the team, as well as LVG himself, both look broken. It still doesn't feel right sacking him, but I fear we don't have much of an option for several reasons, the most important being that we simply can't afford to miss out on the CL once more in the midst of our post Fergie rebuilding process.

If our club is run by great people they will let him resign and go on with some dignity.

My biggest fear is that they do nothing. Wait to the end of the season can prove to be a big mistake.

Its absolutely soul destroying. Has there been 1 correct decision made in the last 3 years?
we do seem to make things hard for ourselves don't we?

We as a club never seem to do the obvious thing, which is a reason I feel we won't be seeing Moureen at OT. I think if LvG is sacked it'll be giggs stepping in. Hope I'm wrong, as we need the players to start upping their game and playing with confidence. We need that fear among the players again and if Giggs is appointed the players won't be any different in attitude as Giggs has been here all the time, so imo it'd just go from bad to worse.

For me
I liked the man, i thought he was fun. I dont like him getting sacked, he was a genius for a time. but i guess not every manager has the best ending. Thankyou from the football world louis, its goodbye now.
This. I feel a bit sorry for him tbh but can't see him turning this around.

They had a manager retiring and looking for a replacement. We have a manager with 18 more months in his contract, so there was no reason to look for a replacement unless shit hit the fan, like now. You sound as if we should hve gotten pep for next summer even if we had managed to win the treble this season, because he is the best manager ever.

Did he say that himself, or is that from the stuff Graham hunter made up??

Hynckes said he wanted one more season, LvG says he's retiring at the end of his contract, an extra year should mean nothing regardless of what LvG did this season,m if you have the chance to solidify the long term future with Pep Guardiola you do it, you dopn't just sit there waiting for LvG to do an extra year and have to scramble for a new manager at the end of it, you strike while the iron is hot.

It was not Hunter, it was from a Spanish friend of Pep's, I can't recall his name, he recounted a conversation they had while watching us at Old Trafford.

To be honest, those defending LVG are probably only doing so because they don't want us to sack another manager.

It's not 'the United way', you see.
A lot of people harp on about this, it might have been the case when Fergie was around but remove him and we are like any other side.

And face the possibility of finishing midtable or perhaps even lower? I think they'll be desperate for us to finish top four. And that means getting a new man in.

The only thing we had going for us was not conceding many goals, now we are conceding for fun, and not looking any more likely to score, need to change it, he has cleared the squad of wasters, thanks for that now good luck, he is retiring next year anyway, it is a no brainer with 2 of the best managers around unemployed.

Can't stand much more of this crap, get LVG out now, does he realise the stick I am getting at work ? I have mates who support Leicester, Watford ,palace etc, they are loving this season, I have run out of excuses and so has he.

Your probably right. I have a bad feeling about sacking manager after manager too, but I can see that it has to be done. If this end up exactly like Moyes; sacked in the end of the season, I feel that our club are run by clueless people.

The timings have been so poor for us with managers being available at the right times.

It's like there's an uptick where great managers are available and this coincides with when we are in a comfortable position.

Then during the down tick when nobody is available we fall to peices.

We need to be proactive this summer and see that during the uptick where Pep, Mou and Ancelloti are available we take advantage. If all these managers find a club and we wait til Van Gaal's contract is up we're going to be in big big trouble.

It's going to take a big decision where it could be seen as harsh (by some) but it's the right thing to do.
I agree. Woodward has to be ruthless and make the right call, if not, we could be really hurting ourselves for the long-term.

Just got back from the game, absolutely terrible to watch. Pretty much all the people around me in the Stretty T2 wanted him sacked, hardcore match goers as well.

Heard his interview on 5 live on the way home & he sounded broken! Totally different to previous interviews.

He has to go, it's on par with the standard of shite Moyes was churning out!

On the game Herrera on the bench signalled our intent - spineless!

Tbh I have almost gone past caring what happens to van Gall but just to play Devil's Advocate....

The players who receive the most stick on this forum are (rightly) Mata, Fellaini, Young and Rooney. I would also add Carrick as somebody who is really letting us down at the moment

So, it's interesting when people talk about van Gaal's signings or the money he has spent because the players we blame aren't "his" players. Also, seems the players we like on this forum are all players Louis bought in!

Now somebody will inevitably put "yeah but van Gaal keeps picking those players" - well he has too doesn't he, we signed 6 or 7 players in the summer and got rid of a load too, van Gaal only has so much time in each window to address problems, bring players in and get rid of players

So if we leave tactics aside for a minute because nobody will ever agree (I personally think the players should be responsible for beating Norwich at home regardless) why should we not trust that van Gaal will get rid of these players, bring better ones in and improve us as a result?

Like I say, don't intend this as a "we have to keep van Gaal because..." argument because I really can't be arsed, but the logic of blaming him for everything and demanding replacements doesn't quite stack up yet

The guy has Stoke away lined up and Chelsea at home. Gonna be 2 tough fixtures.

Stoke just sitting 2 banks infront of their goal and then launching Shakira, Bojan and Arnautovic against us on the counter is the perfect set up against United at the moment. After Leicester, there aren't many sides better suited to beat us.

He's gone, its just "when" now. I imagine someone is appointed in time for the bulk of the january window.

I'm genuinely not confident of us beating anyone in the league right now.

The running of the footballing side of the club has been an utter shambled for years. We've constantly made the wrong decisions, from planning the post Fergie era, to player recruitment and now managerial recruitment. Everything that could have gone wrong, basically has.

We have no one else to blame for this mess then those who run the club. They might be commercial geniuses, able to rake in record revenue, but they haven't got a scooby when it comes to football.

I've never truly wanted him before, but i honestly believe Mourinho is the best bet to stop this rot. We are the one job he's truly wanted, he could have us winning the league next year, he just gets it done.

Hunter got it from one of Peps people, and in fairness to Hunter he has been on the money with Pep stuff. Hunter is saying we are his first preference.

Had Mourinho not been available, I'd still want to keep the faith with LVG, after all despite the football and form, we are still in an encouraging position in the league and I genuinly beLiege with the right January signings, things would click.

However, With Mou available and chomping to prove himself again, it's a no brainer. I'd take Mourinho over Guardiola every day of the week.

Basically the srats are aligning in our favour - bring in the special one.

What makes you say that when he has not stayed beyond 3 years ?.

I did not say we had to wait till the end. When some has 18 months left in the contract you don't go looking for a manager unless its not working out.

Also, you have continually failed to address my question. What makes you think we have not made any contact. It has always been speculation.

I've just banged a fiver on him going before Christmas Day.

Odds weren't the best though

Well when you consider, and I would argue that the players he let go would probably stuff the players we have now, including his signings, then yeah it is his responsibility. Chicharito is having a second wind with Leverkusen. I'm sure that he would've scored a few for us this season.

And yeah, damn right he keeps picking those players, cause he decided to keep them. Do you really think that after 18 months things will improve when the likes of Leicester City and Crystal Palace, also with new managers and an inferior squad will probably finish higher than us this season ?

Would you really trust van Gaal to get rid of more players and bring new ones in...only to stifle them and make them look ordinary because of his bullshit philosophy ??

A lot of people harp on about this, it might have been the case when Fergie was around but remove him and we are like any other side.

Agreed, that's my point.

I knew losing SAF would be hard for us, but I didn't expect it to be like this.

Hopefully it's 3rd time lucky for us and the club appoint the right man next time.

He has to settle at some point and other than Italy there would be nowhere left for him, plus I think he'd find the job here a harder challenge than his previous two, this squad is far from great and the financial clout throughout the league creates a unique challenge for a serial winner.

Yes you do if that manager has said he's retiring at the end of saidf contract and the manager you can get is a big upgrade on him regardless.

No I haven't failed to address it, I said that I was going off the reports and the fact I believe from what has been said from those close to him that if he had been pursued by us he'd have come here, not City.

If you're one of these people that really doesn't like LVG already, you losing that bet really would be the icing on the cake.

Watch him get sacked on the 26th.

Come on, you don't believe that absolute nonsense being trotted out by the media at the moment about the players we have let go beating the current side do you? We let them go because they were consistently average, most of them under Ferguson, Moyes and Van Gaal

let it go - LVG has cooked his own goose.

I wish we would just fecking sack him. Pig sick of the white whole sorr situation.

Btw, those banging on about Chicarito scoring goals for us, he wouldn't. You need to make chances for that to happen.

Thats just wrong. You dont like Champions League?
Who don't? But we should think long term. No point of hiring manager now, just because we are chasing top 4 at the end of season.
We ahould get the right manager, even if it means waiting for next summer, and not getting top 4 this season.
