Are people really not seeing that we look far more dynamic right now? More akin to the type of play we showed during our best streak last spring?

I get that it comes on the tail-end of a season that started limply, carried on with a straight-up good point haul until we petered out and now don't seem to able to score for shit....... up till today, where we actually look likely to make something happen. It's not "another typical match, just like any other for big parts of the season". Not unless I'm blind to our play today compared to previously this season.

Not sure what I make of whether I want him out. Giggs to be care-taker for half a season? What damage will that do? Hold off and sack him at the end of the season? Sure, but who do we get in? Or is he finally getting over some pig-headedness and employing the tactic that has given him the best results during his tenure here? I'm in the wait and see camp, this match notwithstanding. For the first time in quite a while I'm enjoying our play. Even if we lack the clear-cut chances to be fully confident in it yet, it's an encouraging sign.

I think it's more complicated a situation than people make out but if results don't improve its inevitable.

We need to chase Pep hard if Van Gaal is going to be sacked.

Carlo is going to Bayern.. isnt he?
Who can replace LVG? Might as well keep him for the season.

We'll be out of the CL if we stick with him. We're rotting now and once that starts you're fecked. AVB was a much better manager than Di Matteo, but the quality of the manager doesn't matter in this kind of situation.

I hate the 4231 system, can't stand that tactic everyone seem to love.

It's much more of a 4-3-3 (yes, they are all similar I know but different enough). Carrick is the only one playing deep, Fellani and Mata are playing much higher

Deserves to be fired on the spot. Let Giggs take over. Try and get Pep. Our club is under serious rot. Quite amazing actually. I fear for us.

Are we actually playing that formation? All I see is Fellaini stood like a tool in the box waiting for a long ball to his head.

Why is our management so stupid, he should be sacked before the chances of us being in the CL are zero, these idiots in charge make decisions in the last minute, and panic when the damage is already done, and the warning signs have been there for months

I hate watching football with no hope of us playing well, or even scoring. If it takes getting another manager in so we can improve I'm at the point where I think we should part company.

I think we're playing at least a 4-1-3-1 where Fellaini is supposed to be playing is, as always, anyones guess.

United under LvG - we put some crosses in the box but make sure that noone attacks the ball. It's not his philosophy.

If I were Giggs I would leave for the first managerial offer to be had. It must be painful for him to be a part of this crap. I hate LvG in ways I never did with Moyes.

Chelsea was a different situation. We don't have the players/leaders to pull the team up.
We need a manager.. even if he is underperforming, he is better than having Giggs take over..

Hate to say this but he should go. Players are not performing. I wonder what they do the whole week in training. Every game is just so negative and lack communication magi nation.

Well i am very frustrated but i think sacking LVG will make me feel sad. Think LVG's style is a bit difficult for some players. My main frustrating point is him playing Rooney. I do not want him near the team at all.

That's why i think LVG is very stubborn and wants Rooney to come good and then shout on top of the world how he was right and he needed patience. Rooney is going to be LVG's undoing.

The main difference is that I had no hope with Moyes, lvg made me believe.

Voted today! Sack him if we don't win today. What do we have to lose anyway without him? It literally can't get worse.

The board will be worried. No top 4 and their jobs will be on the line as well.

Van Gaal looks like a dead man walking. This is a toxic situation.

No doubt, I am with you on that on both counts.

Biggest 45 minutes in his Manchester United career coming up. Lose this game and he will be gone by Monday in my opinion (and if not, then it's the board that could do with sacking). Even if we draw, then he may not survive.

It would be absolutely mental if this club goes into the new year with Jose Mourinho as the manager.

Rooney's past it. We were shit without him too, it's just that he's incapable of getting the best out of his attacking players.

I don't even think LVG realizes that we are rotting away. He seems content with us playing this brand of football. Quite shocking actually.

Inb4 some idiot inevitably says "it's not his fault Fellaini and Rooney can't finish their chances".

Even if we lose he's going no where. Get use to a board happy with mediocrity. They kept Moyes until April and he was hovering between 6th and 7th ffs.

No reason for him to stay. Send him packing as soon as the game ends please.

I honestly would not mind Jose Mourinho right now. I just hope our players are not as spoilt as the Chelsea players that undermined his authority.

There's nothing to suggest they've been undermining Van Gaal's authority, who doesn't have half of Mourinho's talent, ability or reputation.

I give up. I've been defending LVG consistently since the start but even my goodwill is steadily eroding. I don't mind where we are in the league it's just that there is no clear sign of progress this season, we're still stuck in that monotonous tempo and now we are seemingly struggling to control games too
