The idea of City having Guardiola and us having Mourinho makes me feel sick.
While City are playing lovely football, passing us off the park, our layers will be looking for new ways to hack them to death.

If we don't get Pep we would need a big personality for our manager. Giggs would get trampled underfoot. People go on about how Jose behaves, SAF could be obnoxious when it suited him. Giggs is just a first class arsehole but with the personality of a bowl of cold tripe.

If we accept the proviso that Ancelotti and Guardiola have been snapped up by others already, I still refuse to accept we have to choose between Mourinho and Giggs.

I dont doubt Mourinho is a winner and I dont think this is the end of him as a manager either. The question is whether the baggage is worth it. I just dont know if it is. When it comes to the choice between winning and style I generally go with winning, but Mourinho is such a despicable prick. I remember his rivalry with Guardiola in Spain and for me Guardiola conducted himself with such dignity, it only made Mourinho seem uglier by contrast. The idea of that rivalry being revived, but with us on the wrong side of it... I just cant imagine it.

With that in mind, I think I would almost prefer Giggs. Clearly this is not the route to winning things, and he has his own personality flaws. But he isnt Mourinho. And frankly, I dont give a shit about him betraying his brother, that is irrelevant as far as Im concerned. So it is a wanker who knows how to win, versus a nonentity who nobody knows what the hell he knows. Its like having to choose between having my balls ripped off with a pair of rusty pliers, or having to remove both my own eyes with a spoon.

Honestly there must be other choices out there. There just has to be.

Who is going to be left? I think Chelsea might go after Pep in the summer. Carlo to Bayern? I am worried who would want to play for LvG if he stays his full term. A load of average Dutch players, because he has worked with them before.
Both of those are paper talk there has been nothing confirmed on either story. We could get Pep or Carlo we have the financial power and history to attract them we will just have to wait and see what unfolds in the coming months.

Pisses me off that he says we need pacey players while he sold Hernandez and Di Maria. Our squad would be close to complete with those two now.

He could have kept both if he'd wanted to and the buck stops with LVG on this.

We didn't really choose to sell Di Maria though did we?

The player clearly wanted out.

Half because of the way LVG treated him.

And before any of the Caf body language experts attack me he has even said that LVG prevented him playing the way he wanted.

Yes but that doesn't mean we had to sell him. Wouldn't of been the first time a club kept a player that wanted to leave. Decision was ultimately Van Gaals

He also said about a week after we signed him that he didn't really want to be here, would have signed for PSG in the summer if they had the money, and that he still wanted to join them.

I'd love the Di Maria at Real Madrid, the one we saw for the first month, but I think its his fault that we don't have that.

Perhaps a more understanding manager could have put an arm around him, but there's no way it should have been necessary after 2 months.

Did he actually say that soon after he joined United?

Can't say any of the options on the poll suit my opinion. I would say give him until the end of January where we have a set of fixtures in Jan that will really test us and show how far we have progressed as a team. If things look bleak after that then I'd say it's fair enough to sack him but at the moment we have a shadow of a squad. Let's see what he does when the injuries clear up again. We were poor but winning earlier in the year, we could get back to the level of the City, Liverpool, Spurs games of last season again.

I think we have any possible January transfer targets lined up already so I don't think it matters if we spend in the window under LVG, he could be at risk not long after deadline day.

"PSG, I think they had a money problem and they couldn't buy players," he told French station Telefoot. "This is the main reason I didn't go there. Playing in the French league would please a lot of players.

"Now I'm in the English league. But you never know, there is a lot of movement in football. You can never predict where you're going to play.

"There were a lot of clubs interested in me, a lot really. But Manchester United appeared and didn't go away. They absolutely wanted me and it happened."

"It's a different style of football here at Manchester United," he continued. "I'm very happy. I don't have regrets about leaving Real Madrid. I think I won everything I wanted with Real: La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey."

"It could have been a good experience for me to go to Paris. I know I'm still young, perhaps I'll go to PSG one day. I don't know how it will all end."

From November, and I don't think he had another good game for us after that interview.

Does anyone really actually still feel like he is doing a good job? I find it hard to believe that some of you might. We are just as bad as under Moyes but were given massive money to squander. Gotta bring in Pep.

It has to be said. I believe he has been worse than Moyes when you think of all the benefits and freedom the club has given him. A win today will not change my opinion because we need to be much better.

He's not turning this around - the rot has set in now. Out of the CL, out of the league cup, rotting in the league. Sack him.

Deserves criticism for starting Rooney (who looks slow and useless as usual) and Phil Jones (who is just a bag of nerves and infects the entire backline).

We need to cut our losses now. If we wait until we can't get top 4 we'll be out of the CL for a long time, with Pep going to City, Klopp at Liverpool, a resurgent Arsenal, and Chelsea getting a new manager and inevitably spending money on transfers.

He looks like a defeated man who would rather be getting pissed up in his retirement villa in Portugal than managing a football club. 45 minutes to save his job.

At least we got to the penalty area...

Seriously though, this is pathetic. Sack him.

Before, many were resigned to keeping him until the end of the season, because the alternative was Giggs. With Mourinho looming all of a sudden, i wonder how many want him gone asap.

Mourinho now, or risk going for Pep at the end of the season?

Carlo is going to Bayern.. isnt he?
Who can replace LVG? Might as well keep him for the season.

Struggling to agree that it's inevitable. I honestly think we'll keep him until top 4 no longer looks possible.

He must go this is dire.. We look lost and uninterested.. Not a single shot on goal at home vs Norwich..

This is what a lot of the idiots don't get. Sticking with Moyes for that long put us years back, why the feck are we repeating the same mistake?

I'll buy him a year's supply of heineken if he fecks off right now!!

I can't see us scoring twice a da this may well be another defeat but I don't think he will be sacked. He can't be allowed to stay on for another season though and has to go in the summer. I think the players a fed up and he isn't a manager who gets better the longer he is in a job, fact is if his philosophy isn't working 18 months in it isn't going to work and his career history shows that.
