I don't care about anything but him being sacked at this point., I can't stand another season under this deluded, smug arsehole.

One of the best posts I have ever seen. An absolute carcrash of an attempt right from the opening line. Throw in some offensive language and complaining about United winning a game and top it off with awful punctuation and a third line that makes no sense to me.

Please tell me then that we won that game because of lvg and not despite him.
It was a complete abomination from start to finish.

Well, the target was to score 1 goal (as is the case in every game).
LVG believed that with the players we had on the pitch, we could score the 1 goal against a relegation team.
I guess he was saving some players for more difficult matches, ahead.

What's the rationale behind 'resting' players 3 games before the season ends?

Ridiculous management that will probably be forgotten about because we scraped a 1-0 win. Instead of just dropping players unable to play a full game to the bench, he completely omits them from the travelling squad altogether. Baring in mind if we'd failed to win today and City picked up three points it would have been completely pointless because we'd be all but out of the race.

Does anyone seriously want him to stay on next year that's not an opposition fan?

If we get 4th, win FA cup, Liverpool lose the EL final, and LVG is sacked this season will have been a success.
However, I'd gladly take any of the above that includes LVG being sacked and accept that as a success alone.

I just got in, but seems even though we won, we were dire overall. Honestly, him staying should take in a number of factors and not just making top four. Anyway, be good if we got 4th and the FA cup and he fecked off after - that's what I hope anyway...

Even if we got top 4 he's not staying. The fans wouldn't stand for it and would make it very clear next season.

I think that is entirely it. I think he knows he is going, so not really bothered about 4th, but a nice little cup will look good on his record.
Didn't I read on the Player of the Year thread that he said basically top four is important for the club but it sounded like the FA Cup 'title' was more important to him? If I remember correctly, then he's got the absolutely wrong attitude. We should be in top 3 minimum and trying to win trophies. It's both things. Does he think we can casually park ourselves in mid table and keep sponsors and fans happy? Where does he think all the club's money come from for him to waste?

I wouldn't be able to stop laughing.

To go through such an horrific season and end things relatively ok would be incredible luck. Like walking blindly across a motorway at rush hour and emerging at the other side with a bit of a sore foot only.

In 5 years time, when Maureen would have sorted this mess, LVG will be sitting on his coach boasting about how he was the one who won the first honour after SAF retired and how he stirred the ship to the right direction just as he did at Bayern and at Barca. If only United had waited a little bit longer....

It's so depressing. Another entire season of this.....how far will we be behind at that point? Will it even be possible to recover and, if so, how long will it take?.....Not to mention the inevitability of Giggs :(

Why am I so unhappy after watching another win. This man is killing my love for football. I have never wanted anyone to feck off more in my whole life.

It's so true, even when Mata scored, I was like... "meh..." what if 4th means he stays? :nervous:

The sooner he goes the better what a shit boring brand of football he has served up.

Probably because nothing particularly good actually comes from his wins a lot of the time. No entertainment, and a lot (but also not enough) of crappy goals. No progression. No fight when there should be. Little to actually celebrate.

At least we have a final to look forward to. Us as fans deserve that.

A bit worrying, that.

If he's a United fan, probably just a wind up from one of his mates.

Certainly is. But now I expect him to stay so I'm not surprised to be honest.

Hopefully but not that likely. Michael Crick isn't one for wind ups. He's a "serious" journalist with proper sources. And one who only tends to post about United/football when he's heard something worth reporting.

So what is he sayin LVG staying for two years because he's got another year regardless. So why the need for an extension.

It doesn't make sense does it. Either he took it on a three year lease as he had a three year contract anyway. Or could he only get a two year lease, I doubt it. Could you imagine if he is stopping two extra years, until Giggs is ready. He could be here until he is 90.

He was on a month to month contract on the apartment as far as I read. So the 12 months does make sense if true.

I don't know, it doesn't automatically follow that he would lease an apartment for 3 years because he had a 3 year contract, I don't know how common multi-year leases even are, but I'd imagine it's more common to rent out a place in yearly increments, no?

If he's on a rolling month-to-month lease why even bother signing for an extended period? Not like he'll have to worry about the landlord turfing him out or the price going up.

Probably still laying down the foundations on his new apartment.

Nothing makes sense. At the end of a Mirror Article today on Giggs - they stated:

"Meanwhile, it’s believed season ticket, executive seat and high-end hospitality box sales are lagging behind previous years at Old Trafford with many fans waiting to see if Van Gaal will still be in charge before committing to another season."

How can LVG survive something like this? Why would Ed and the Glazers stick with him in this case?
