No I think the away goal rule will really help us as we rarely concede plus I've heard that there maybe some extra points for teams with the highest possession?

Yea either I'm slow today due to my hangover or your tries at humour are rather poor, sorry mate, carry on.

I don't think Ed gives a shit what fans think.
He seems the type to constantly Google his own name. I do think he cares in that sense. "LVG out" can turn into "Woodward out" very easily and very publicly. I think he'll try to head off that sentiment by making the move for Mourinho. Unfortunate that his ego might be the main reason to make a move, rather than the other numerous legitimate reasons.

Contains some of the points I mentioned in my mail to Ed Woodward asking for LvG to the sacked. I just hope the email ID is the correct one.

Then again, I am now told that LvG has worked on optimizing the fencing. That's making me wonder whether I should change my vote now and demand that he be made a new offer to be manager for another decade. I'm confident that with the new fencing in place, the philosophy will be more contained within the training grounds and be absorbed better. This therefore will lead to a much better team annually. By 2019, I predict United will breach the 50-goal mark for the season while by 2021, we'll re-enter the top 4 again. With these foundations in place, we can finally then raise our expectations to the point of getting past the CL group stages in 2025 and possibly launch a real challenge for second spot in the PL by 2026...

This is massive for LVG. Can he motivate the players to win the next 3 games, getting us CL football and FA cup?. The players should be absolutely fired up. For me I think he should still go regardless as I don't think he's gonna make big strides with us next year but if he can do this then he can go out pretty decently.

LVG doing a John Snow as much as I want top 4 and FA cup this guy has to go regardless. I could see him staying and signing no one just because he wants to prove everybody wrong! He's like a stubborn drunk.

Well...if this isn't motivation enough I don't know what is. West Ham are not playing well at the moment and we have Bournemouth at home....but hey....yer know, this season and everything..who knows.

As long as we have Rashford and Martial around for the FA cup, both pretty young and fearless at the moment, I reckon we can take that one!

Interesting point after next weekend's match at Old Trafford. Will the fans stay for the lap of honour (last home game) or will they leave to show their unhappiness with LVG. A lot could depend if we get top 4. BBC radio 5 Live saying that a lot of City fans have left the stadium before City done their lap of honour.

Yeah if he can't get the players motivated for this then really it should be the final nail in the coffin for those who want him to stay, Woodward etc included. I'm not sure how we've ended up in this position, largely through other teams slipping up in truth but we're here, have to make the most of it.

they are coming back out now, half empty

They said on the radio that some of the fans may not have known or forgot about the lap of honour (surely there was an announcement if they saw the fans leaving though) but it looks pretty bad.

its funny to watch as its city but he deserved better, he's been a very classy guy for them, let alone won trophies for them

I would expect them to stay...if not for anything but support for the team for the FA cup final, regardless of whether we have made the top four. They need to know the fans are with them for that game surely.

I agree.

It's not just about getting rid of this garbage, it's about not missing the last available top manager and being stuck with skeezy as the manger after this possession freak has fecked off.

What honour?

I'm leaving as a mark of protest for the quality of football on show this season.

Finishing top four and with a trophy would be a good send off for LVG.

In reality though there would be no bigger attraction for players next season than Manchester United with Jose Mourinho and Champions League football.

The luck that LVG has is unreal. If Moyes played in this shit fest of an EPL season then he'd have stayed on for another year as well.

I smell a contract extension our Dutch fraud.

This.

If we do get to top four, I just don't think the board will want a manager that is only booked for one year with everyone knowing it. It doesn't make sense. It would almost, from the players point of view, be like having a manager on gardening leave. Why would you impress and work hard for someone who is fecking off in 12 months.....Either someone else comes in now, or LVG's contract is extended at the end of the season.

I reckon we could have pushed Leicester had we sacked LvG in December.

I'm going to try and delude myself that his farewell present to us is top and FA Cup and then he goes. If United extend his contract, they'll be hell to pay - can't see them doing that. Then having him for one year doesn't make sense as you say. Even getting 4th means nothing - what if we don't get a piss easy draw in the playoffs to get to the group stages and he messes that up as well? May as well get a hungry Jose in. However, goodness knows what our board will do.

I agree. Even if we fluke 4th place and win the FA Cup, questions need to be asked about why the board didn't get rid earlier in the season when it became obvious that LVG wasn't the right person to take us forward.
