Clap your hands everybody
If you got what it takes
Cause I'm LVG and I want you to see
That these are the breaks

Breaks on a bus, brakes on a car
Breaks to make you a superstar
Breaks to draw and breaks to bore
But mainly these breaks cannot score
And these are the breaks
Break it up break it up break it up!

If you force your team to just back pass
(That's the breaks, that's the breaks!)
And they feck up the game's single chance
And the journalists say they want to chat
And you can't explain why you played so cack

And you send Woodward a whopping bill
(That's the breaks, that's the breaks!)
For 18 keepers from Brazil
To be your line up and the subs
And Red Caf hopes you lose your job
Well, these are the breaks
Break it up, break it up, break it up!

Feel like LvG has been told its top 4 or out for him this summer... certainly makes me feel conflicted about our remaining games. Sure getting top 4 is nice and fecks over city, but the sooner LvG is out, the sooner United will be good to watch again. So I feel like it would be better for United to miss out on it

I think most know that history will show him an excellent manager. However, it appears he is simply a poor match for the club, and 10 years too late for the premier league. The only stereotypical box ticked is the youth players, and could argue that was accidental.

Do you really think the tripe LVG has been serving up for the past two seasons would have been competitive in the league in 2006!? Chelsea won the league with 91 points in 2006, scoring 72 goals along the way (Utd finishing 2nd on 83 points also scoring 72 goals). Utd can earn a maximum 69 points this year, which would have seen us finish 3rd place in 2006.... 13 points behind Liverpool.

I would compare Van Gaal with Ricky Hatton.... History will look fondly on his achievements in the ring, but I will ultimately remember him outclassed when the chips were down & spark out on the canvas.

If you want to message him just use ed.woodward@manutd.co.uk
Thanks, here's what I mailed him:

Please Mr Woodward, for the love of God, and my sanity, tell me that you are not trying to do to Manchester United (FOOTBALL CLUB), what Grahame Souness did to Liverpool. I understand that you were/are a Liverpool fan, are you really a saboteur extraordinaire? If you are not, and at the same time not a complete buffoon, you absolutely must remove mr van Gaal from his position of manager.

Yours brokenly,

The latest press showing presents LVG in an ugly mood, sulking and refusing to properly answer questions. Clough had style and panache, this idiot does nothing least of all motivate anyone to watch or support our club. Why MU News dishes this shit out is beyond me or why the club allows LVG to play these ridiculous games. Its Bayern like behaviour where eventually the fans and the board had him removed - I remain hopeful but fear the candle is withering.

I'm the same Phil. It's my fear that the majority of Utd fans are convinced he's gone in the summer & as such, LVG isn't being hounded by fans at OT. The lack of audible complaints at the games now - coupled with the blinkered, autograph-hunting, hand-shaking, ever-applauding, day-tourists making LVG (and perhaps the board) think that the fans are happy - might be giving this absolute clown licence for continuing into his final year.

I genuinely believe however, if he leads the team out in August & we have the inevitable 0-0 draws, side-passing bore-fests, Luis scribbling his notes & being his usual deluded, arrogant self.... OT will soon become toxic entirely.

The board could be making a very nasty rod for their own back if they fail to act and act soon.

If we're smashed by Norwich and City beats Arse is that the end of CL?

Theoretically they could announce his departure. He's egotistical enough to want to stay on for the FA cup final.

Did he reply??

I'm holding on to the hope that they don't want a lame duck in charge for the FA cup final. If they don't get rid after that...don't want to contemplate the possibility - it's just too awful.

Great post mate, especially the thinking forward part about next season.

IMO, The cup final will be the decider. If we win it Woody and the Glazers will basque in our fans delirium; but failing 4th and a defeat in the final will swing the axe. Cynical old me did think the naming of the Charlton stand was leverage to get a general agreement to bring in Maureen, given the reluctance of the grand old knight to endorse him.

If this continues into a fourth season we will spiral downwards, totally convinced of that.

Near the end of the 2013-4 season, just after Moyes had been sacked and with Giggs in charge, we managed to get 4 points from our final three games to finish the season on 64 points. This season, if we get 4 points from our final three games we will again have 64 points. We can match the goals scored in 2013-4 if we can score another 21 goals in our final three games.

Just have a look at some of the results since end of march (and Rooney's comeback)

City W
Everton W
Spurs (Runners up?)L
WU W
Villa W
Palace W
Everton W
Champions D

And on a line W-W-L-W-W-W-W-D

Is that SHIT? I mean, is that really shit? Yes, I know we were shit before that but we can only look at what's going on atm! Just look at how few goals we conceded, is that nothing to you guys?

I created a thread a week ago asking if anyone was ready to switch all players in our team to any other PL team. I think the results were telling NO, except for a few dorks who wanted to switch which Spurs and Arsenal...

What it boils down to is the fact that Memphis flopped and people are blaming LVG. Then there are a few other "trigger players" out there that can make fans lose it like Herrera and Januzaj. We have seen you guys before and then the names were Rossi, Nani, Tevez, DONG. These people are more concerned about the individual players than what the team wins. They also have a tendency of hating established players who go through a rough period (Rooney/Carrick) and want to replace them with soulless individuals from leagues thousands of miles away who normally end up in clubs like Inter/Milan or mid table spanish teams and age catch up on them and they're nothing.

If Mourinho comes - fine. If LVG stays I would be just as happy. I think we're on to something here. Just need to find that special piece in the puzzle to have us winning big things again. Yes, there are players who're not fitting LVG's philosophy, but obviously there are them who fit. I rather see a player like Di Maria feck off and get a player in who wants to be here and fight for his spot regardless of that the manager thinks.

Some valid points, but what about the mind numbingly boring football? Van Gaals approach is zero risk, which equates to very few goals being conceded. It is also equates to why we are about to finish the season with an absolutely pitiful amount of goals scored.

The whole philisophy is based around not conceding and scoring one goal a game. It's why we've been absolutely fecked every time the opposition scores first.

In my lifetime, I've never been as uninterested in watching us play, and I've never had such little willingness to argue with people about how boring we are, because it's just hard to deny it at this point.

Is that SHIT?

Nope. That's pretty good. That's title winning form right there.

So, why are we in 5th place and aspiring to be in 4th place?
Why are we the most boring team to watch?
Why are bookies suggesting that today, we are very unlikely to beat Norwich?
Why are we scoring so few goals?
Why is LVG aiming for 1 goal per game?
Why did LVG fail to get the best out of any of our attacking players (especially Di Maria)?
Why is one of the best young strikers in the World (Martial) scoring 9 goals this season, while Kane (similar age), is scoring more than double?

The simple truth is LVG has tried his best and his best is 4th/5th place, boring (1-0) football.
Now, you have to decide is 4th place acceptable to you? If so, keep LVG in. But if 4th place is not good enough, then he needs to leave.

If Bayern, Madrid, Barca, PSG, Porto, Juve, got 4th/5th place, they would sack their manager. And the manager would not complain.
Even LFC who haven't won the league in decades would find it acceptable to target 4th place every year.
Put simply, LVG should accept that he has failed (on multiple levels) and needs to go.

Oh, and if you are rival supporter, then I understand completely why you hope LVG stays. I'd love it if LVG moved to Spurs, AFC, MCFC or LFC.

Not even having rashford in the squad is completely bonkers. Yes ok don't start him if he's a little worn out, but not even having him as an option? If martial isn't playing well that means we are relying on januzaj.

Great call!

Martial apparently injured and no Rashford on the bench. Another wonderful decision by LvG.

I get that Rashford needs a rest, but we have 4 must win games left this season and Martial needs an equal amount of rest.

I don't think top four is at all likely but we should be going all out to get there. What a fecking idiotic manager we have. No Martial & no Rashford I think he's trying to drive United fans insane.

He made us insane a long time ago.

Exactly, fair enough rest him but not to bring him today at all is idiotic. Then again this is the man who sold all our strikers and went into the season with only Rooney as a proven striker.

The sooner he's gone the better.

1972-73, 73-74 were seriously poor and the Sexton years were hypnotic with dullness, while the first years of Fergie were excruciating. In comparison LVG has achieved sublime tediousness.

I wonder if LVG is putting his personal record - i.e. the chance to win another 'title' - ahead of the club's primary interest (particularly if he knows he's going).

Resting Rashford isn't the mistake. The mistake was made in August when he sold all out attackers before bring enough in.

In fact, with Martial likely going to the Euros, and starting games for us since last summer, it would have made more sense to just let Rashford play every game and keep Martial on the bench for when he is needed.

The man is absolutely fecking bizarre at times.

Cheers Phil.

I was convinced that move was to soften Charlton's opinion too, but am unsure now. Its the lack of confidence in the board that's staggering too, whatever the next move is, nothing will surprise me such is their lack of footballing nous and their blasé approach to football, fans and entertainment.

As for Van Gaal today, going into a must-win game, 3 games from the end of the season, without a striker on the bench.... Proof that he's so far away from what it takes to be a Utd manager its unreal.
Three defenders though & a defensive midfielder... Philosophy that.

I'm long past sick of the man.

He looks like a 1980s TV series villian with those glasses
