Again with the nonsense about the board being split. Such ignorant drivel. I'd love to know exactly which Glazer it is who is favouring Giggs over Mourinho, since they're the only ones with votes.
The non voting ones like the Sir's perhaps. And lets hope the three that decides all agree.

I have seen plenty of delusions from MUFC fans, on this very forum. And some of the delusions are really far fetched.

Kane and Ibra (if LVG stays), are 2 good ones.
The belief that we could win the EL. This was just before the 2nd leg of the LFC game.
Then there was the delusion of winning the league, where after 1 win, fans believed that we could catch LCFC. I stated that LCFC will open up the gap and that is what happened.
The latest delusions are top 4 and FA Cup. Once again, MCFC are likely to open up a gap over us and WHU will probably beat us.
Then there are the deluded fans who believe we can score 2 or more goals in 1 game - and these fans are present in every single match day thread. I ask them to explain how they arrived at this decision and I am given sarcastic answers.
Then there are the fans who cannot understand why a player would pick Real Madrid or PSG, over us. I explained this once and got a lot of abuse.

My belief is that there are some fans who don't watch our games, they don't know our score lines, they don't know what our (default) game plan is and still believe we are one of the favourites to win the title, when the season starts.

Everything, especially the bolded parts, are 110% true. Some people are just plain deluded or have actually zero idea how football works.

For all his faults, I hope Louis' time here finishes before the end-of-season awards. That would be a pretty awful experience for him, should this season peter out, and I don't wish that on him.

He is too arrogant and thick skinned to deserve your sympathy mate. He wouldn't think it anything to attend to gala and with a straight face posit that we have made progress this year. You watch. If he is not sacked this is what will happen.

That's a very small portion and most are very realistic as to where we are as a club atm.
We want to start competing again and the first and obvious solution is to get rid of Lvg.

While he has done some good....he's done an awful lot of negative things. BUT the real problem is I don't think it's ever a good idea to go for a manager who has a self imposed sell by date. So now in the summer, with a year to go? It's not a good situation. Jose is 53 - he's played around and wants to settle. We have great kids at the club. It pisses me off that, people talk about other teams kids. It's always been easier for them to get games at smaller clubs. Jose will buy but we need a shake up and I would hope it's the older players that are under threat and not the younger players who have come through the system and who shown good character on the pitch.

Absolutely. Nearly every time a team knows the manager is going the impetus and ambition of that team subsides. It happened when Fergie first announced his first proposed retirement - the teams results post that were not great. Man City haven't done that badly since it was known their manager was leaving, but certainly not playing to the potential considering the players they have. The fact that LVG only has one year left means no player will feel particularly motivated to prove anything since it could be all change for their circumstances 12 months on. That is why I feel he's definitely out this summer.

Ferguson learnt from his mistake second time round, timing it when we looked pretty sure of the title. However even then the results after his announcement were not great either and we kind of crawled over the line.

A friend who frequents Redissue says there was complete mutiny yesterday. Players were shocked at young playing Upfront as he has been training in full back all season. This was before todays papers claimed about the same. I think a keen eye will be kept on who plays today and their body language. Begining of the end now.

Spot on.

His comments post match on Sunday (and at numerous times through the season) highlight it, the Young upfront debacle that he tried to defend when anyone with half a brain can see what a disaster it is. He's insulting the intelligence of the fans. He deserves no sympathy at all.

Well you have got to think it must annoy the players to. Imagine being Martial and seeing Ashley Young come on and play in your natural position for example.

Blinded by love for giggsy, he needs his brains checked. Maybe he headed the ball too hard.

Don't disagree with you. When I saw Young playing CF I was like WTF. But we come back to one of the often asked questions. Do some of the players need to look at themselves in the mirror? Yes LVG is completely overwhelmed and lurches from one week to the next using what's worked for him recently. But I think all of us saw the life and fighting spirit ooze out of the players when Spurs scored that first goal. That capitulation is a manifestation of both the LVG's shortcomings as a manager in not being able to adjust and the players lack of character. I am not angry with LVG anymore because he is simply floundering along but the gutless performance of some of the players simply boggles the mind.

I digress as this is a LVG out thread but if some of the players are bent on being mutinous, then I really hope the board or Jose, or whoever who actually has some semblance of input into the running of the team next year will see that we need some leaders to be brought in (perhaps Schweni was meant to be that but it looks like he's here for the fat paycheck more than anything else) and the weak minded to be shipped out.

Not only that, but he plays clear favourites with some players. If it's true he got stuck into Rashford at half time for not staying up front, then combine that with his explanation Young went on to make runs in behind and explain why Rooney plays every match when he neither makes runs in behind nor stays up front. There must be a few players that feel mutinous that no matter what they do they will be dropped and others played based on the whims of an idiot.

Yea I agree. It must do their heads in. He needs to go.

You must be thinking of Herrera.

Could say Pereira to. He has to watch Lingard start every game and play the full 90 minutes while he scraps to get on the bench these days.

You are right, I've completely forgotten about Pereira. I must admit though I haven't seen enough of him to know whether he's better than Lingard. Disclaimer: have always maintained Lingard is not first XI quality but would be a good squad player.

Adnan may be (from some accounts) an arrogant little boy (but how's that different from Depay). Can't see why he's not being given a chance. He may have been a much better option than Mata on the right vs. Spurs.

I know LVG has to go but the players should also look at themselves. Most of them have been an embarrassment to this club. If only there was an easy way to clear out all the deadwood.

They are most certainly at fault. But a lot of the blame, in fact majority of the blame has to go to the manager. It's his team. He has to motivate them and get the best out of them. LVG has failed miserably to do both. His "tactics" are a completely joke and his man management is pathetic.

We don't really have any deadwood, the players are devoid of confidence and they are probably as uninspired and puzzled by Van gaal than we are. If I look at other clubs and stop at Lyon, people were saying the same thing, the players weren't good enough, they were lacking in character but the journos were also leaking stories about unrest in the locker room, players being extremely disappointed by their manager and when Lyon sacked Fournier everything changed almost instantly the players seemed different, weeks after weeks they built their confidence and now they are arguably the best team in the league.

Funnily enough LVG's attitude is pretty close to Fournier's, it's always the players fault or a lack of luck.

Memphis was Dutch Player of the Year, last season. His arrogance is warranted.
Adnan is currently a misfit who can't break into the first team of MUFC or Dortmand. He has nothing to be arrogant about.

Totally agree

LVG has taken two years to do what Moyes managed in less than one. Completely lose all confidence from the players.
If LVG took a pop at Rashford at half time that is fecking unforgiveable. Bullying the poor kid who he obviously sees as an easy target when numerous other more senior players were equally shit. If LVG had big balls as he claims he wouldn't have shouted at an 18 year old kid, but he was obviously scared to bawl someone else out as they would probably have had a pop back and that is his wafer thin veneer of control completely gone.

LVG should feck off. Now. Don't want him anywhere near this club.

What does it say? If it's Yorke rattling on again, take no notice. We know where his brains are, they certainly aren't in his head.
It is yorke rambling on about giggs being united manager and it being in his DNA. first we need the feckers DNA checked. Then we need to re attaach yorke's tongue, its been licking gigsy's ass too much.

On the other hand, how quick they jump ship if Giggs fails miserably? They say in adversity you find out who your true friends are.

You could easily see a situation down the line where Giggs is in charge and we are no better than we are now, these ambassadors will stick up for him and the club I dare say wouldn't sack him because "he knows the club". In every way Ryan Giggs is the wrong person for the job.

That's true, they would be terrified of sacking Giggs even if we are sinking into oblivion. If he got us relegated they would still keep him, as he knows the club inside out and knows how to get us promoted. Although I think he if did an awful job he would have to leave the country to be honest.

That's the worry.

Truth is lose tomorrow and both LVG and Giggs should be sacked with Warren Joyce given till the end of the season before Jose arriving.

Sadly though even if we sack LVG I can't see the club having the balls to sack Giggs.

What is it with LVG's constant overrating of non-world-class opposition players? Is he too open for his own good, or is he just getting excuses in early or after-the-fact?:

“I have seen the Andy Carroll show,” Van Gaal said. “And against Spurs I think our problem was also the miscommunication of our central defenders. I hope that we improve our communication because this game is very important for us. It is the last chance of a title, so it is very important for the players, club, manager, fans.”

Van Gaal pointed to his team not having as much time to recover for Wednesday’s tie. “We have one day less than West Ham United,” he said. “That is also important. We have proved against Arsenal and Manchester City [earlier this season] that in spite of less days to recover we could beat them. I hope we shall recover very well. Also mentally, because this is also a blow of course [losing to Spurs] but everybody knows this is the last chance.”

Of Carroll, Van Gaal added: “He has special qualities. We have seen that in the match that he played on Saturday. It was against Arsenal and they have great central defenders but still he could do that. So we have to cope with Andy Carroll and not only Andy Carroll but with other players. They have a certain player named [Dimitri] Payet – he can also play. [Manuel] Lanzini can also play and score goals.

“On Sunday we had to cope with Harry Kane but also Christian Eriksen and Érik Lamela. It is always difficult to cope with players of that level.”

Louis van Gaal demands better communication to tame Andy Carroll:

 Feck me the Andy Carroll show, would that be like Geordie shore but only has two episodes airing once a season?

The players would be to blame first of all. And then once it well and truly has collapsed for Giggs people like Sir Bobby and Fergie would distance themselves away from the appointment like they have done with Moyes.
