Bayern Munich's statement upon sacking Louis van Gaal in 2011 sounds familiar

Louis van Gaal is teetering on the edge at
Manchester United. A fourth successive defeat in all competitions means it is the Red Devils' worst run of form in 54 years.
Following the 2-0 defeat to Stoke City, which could have been much worse, the Dutchman looked like a manager who knew his time was coming to an end.
If he is to be sacked or walk away from Old Trafford, Van Gaal will have nobody to blame but himself. His tactics have been appalling and it seems the club have gone backwards since he replaced David Moyes.
Fans have often got on his back this season and demanded United play a more expansive and daring style, much like the days of Sir Alex Ferguson.
With the rumours of Jose Mourinho replacing Van Gaal at Old Trafford continuing and a game against Chelsea on Bank Holiday Monday that could prove to be his last as manager, it seems a fitting time to remind fans of Bayern Munich's statement upon his departure in 2011.
He had led the Bavarian outfit to the Bundesliga title the previous season and was a losing finalist in the Champions League.
But things soon turned sour and then president Uli Hoeness said it was a decision "which
was a long time in coming."
He went on to say, as per
BBC Sport: "Football should be enjoyable, but there has been nothing enjoyable about football at FC Bayern for a while now. And
to say that he had the players behind him was a myth."
Sound familiar? It's been a very long time since entertaining has been used to describe a Manchester United performance.
Hoeness continued: "
Problems were created which were totally unnecessary and which have ripped the club to pieces."
