I believe he is laying the foundations so our next manager can succeed.
LVG is a great man - he sacrifices his own success/career, just so he can make the next guy look good.
Professionally speaking, I don't think I've ever met anybody in all my life who'd do that...but LVG...what a guy!

Well I believe this too. He isn't Jose where he manages Madrid at the top of their game. He is always and only bought in to big clubs when they need restructuring and I have to say I love Woodward for doing just that almost instantly after SAF's retirement.

Your not joking right? You genuinely believe in this because I Do and it just makes me so excited for the future.

I think he is joking. Also you have to remember this isn't a two team league where a bit of tinkering will get you back up there. There are seven or eight teams battling for honours. Not sure our board have realised this and are trying to live on our past reputation. It is a damn sight easier to get Bayern and Barcelona to the top than it is United with outdated methods.

Yeah he clearly intentionally had Barcelona sitting 3 points above the relegation zone to make things easier for the next manager. What a guy.

When teams do well after LvG leaves/is sacked - he laid the foundations

When teams do crap after he leaves - they couldn't possibly follow on from such a great manager

What. A. Guy.

Jeez what part of the future do you not get. He struggles in the present at Barcelona at Bayern and now at united because he isn't that type of manager.

Yet Evey player that has witnessed his tactics and see that carrying forward recognise it started off with him.

Il continue believing lahm,iniesta, Xavi,Muller,schweinsteiger,alaba, badstuber,puyol, valdes(pre utd).

Tell me other than obviously hating what your seeing now - find me the players that said he was sh#t and you will find that all of them are players of selfishness such as zlatan and rivaldo that ended up getting overdone by the ability of team work that he installed.

Sorry to be repetitive - I thought that guy was of the same belief. I'm off

Literally the only sensible thing you've said.

Surprised how van Gaal isn't praised for Leicester success somehow. Maybe they wanted to sign him five years ago and that was enough to laid the foundations for them.

I am sure he will try to take credit for Simpson and Drinkwater somehow and that he was there when Schmeichel was conceived or something.

Please Iv posted this alot now can the anti LVG brigade give me your opinion?
Bayern Munich's statement upon sacking Louis van Gaal in 2011 sounds familiar
Published 3 months ago34 Comments

Louis van Gaal is teetering on the edge atManchester United. A fourth successive defeat in all competitions means it is the Red Devils' worst run of form in 54 years.

Following the 2-0 defeat to Stoke City, which could have been much worse, the Dutchman looked like a manager who knew his time was coming to an end.

If he is to be sacked or walk away from Old Trafford, Van Gaal will have nobody to blame but himself. His tactics have been appalling and it seems the club have gone backwards since he replaced David Moyes.

Fans have often got on his back this season and demanded United play a more expansive and daring style, much like the days of Sir Alex Ferguson.

With the rumours of Jose Mourinho replacing Van Gaal at Old Trafford continuing and a game against Chelsea on Bank Holiday Monday that could prove to be his last as manager, it seems a fitting time to remind fans of Bayern Munich's statement upon his departure in 2011.

He had led the Bavarian outfit to the Bundesliga title the previous season and was a losing finalist in the Champions League.

But things soon turned sour and then president Uli Hoeness said it was a decision "which was a long time in coming."

He went on to say, as per BBC Sport: "Football should be enjoyable, but there has been nothing enjoyable about football at FC Bayern for a while now. And to say that he had the players behind him was a myth."

Sound familiar? It's been a very long time since entertaining has been used to describe a Manchester United performance.

Hoeness continued: "Problems were created which were totally unnecessary and which have ripped the club to pieces."

That would be something, the last witnessing of penetration in LVG's tactics.

You know he is going to ignore or spin this in LvG's favour don't you?

So many great foundations laid at Bayern

Lucio- Former Bayern Munich playe

“It’s a known fact that every trainer has his own ideas and methods. However, Van Gaal simply treated me disrespectfully. I deserved better than this.”

“Van Gaal hurt me more than anyone else in football. He didn’t even speak with me before making it clear that I was no longer needed. That’s really disappointing. I had a beautiful time at Bayern and we won a lot of trophies. Nevertheless, it’s just not right how things went. I won the Confederations Cup twice, I’ve been a World Champion with Brazil and I was crowned best defender of the Bundesliga. I’m not a youngster who needs to prove his worth to a new coach.”

Luca Toni- Former Bayern Munich player

Van Gaal simply didn’t want to work with me, he treats players like interchangeable objects,” said Toni. “The coach wanted to make clear to us that he can drop any player, it was all the same to him because, as he said, he had the balls. He demonstrated this literally [by dropping his trousers]. I have never experienced anything like it, it was totally crazy. Luckily I didn’t see a lot, because I wasn’t in the front row.”

Frank Ribery- Former Bayern Munich player

“I cannot say that I have much fun with him or that I have a special relationship with him,” he said 2010.

“I do my job and he does his. I give it my best, do everything to get fit again, but when the coach always speaks badly about you, when he keeps on putting you down, then it is tough.”

“I need his help. I have got to be able to talk with him and have fun with him. If I cannot do that, then it cannot work on the pitch either.”

“However, I do get the feeling that he likes me. I would just like to have more contact with him and that there would be a bit more respect between us.”

After 30 games, Moyes had 51 points in the league. LvG only has 50. Take from that what you will.

People who think LvG has been better are utterly deluded. There's a weird bias against Brits/Irish on this forum.

 Again you bring up the fact that he gets sacked. I know he gets sacked but I posted about the future not what happened in the past.

The Bayern fans that were against him, the Barcelona fans that were against him - they are all 70 odd percent that want him out now.

So what? I have showed you players that have said he was the start of something special even if he isn't the man to finish the job off and you being up Lucio and Luca Toni :lol::lol::lol:.

Oh my that was funny.

Is that where the future lied? Then Ribery said he didn't have fun and no doubt there will be players who sag they cannot be bothered with a tactical approach; but I'm not here saying the football was fun but that the football was productive to the future.

The most fundamental players from LVG's teams that have progressed on under other managers have said this. I have not made it up :D

Funny how all these ones for the future are disappearing from the squad as the first teamers come back to fitness.

If you're going to bring up random players who say he made them what they are then it's only fair that others bring up those players who said he was a shitbag coach.

You keep bringing up the future and ignoring the present. We've had 2 confusing (that's being kind) seasons under him now and have regressed. Or maybe his future vision is to turn us into a mid table team, in which case crack on you're doing a great job

Yes but Lucio and Luca Toni wasn't important for Bayern as lahm alaba Muller and shweinsteiger.we're for Bayern; we're they?

I said it before the players 9/10 that hate LVG are individualistic players in terms of tactics and even through personality.

Did I just dream it, or has Kinder now said he's leaving the thread and never returning only to return three times now?

It's only post 2 of a 3-post process.

The day he leaves will be the greatest day of the last three years. We should consider that a trophy.

If he can't motivate his players to go for it now then he needs to go.

(He needs to go regardless of course)

The fans should be singing Jose Mouriniho. Let's get the message across to the dumb glazers !

He sold Lucio to Inter.

Bayern faced Inter in that season's UCL final, and were outclassed and out coached. One of Inter's best players that season, Lucio.

I cant wait to see the back of this charlatan. Him and his praise singers. The majority of the Bayern fans on here dont seem to miss him,I am sure we wont too.
