That thought had entered my mind

if that's the case I'll just stick to watching the U21's play

It's not entirely out of the realms of possibility. Considering we were thinking of extending just before Christmas.

It's not as though we were playing well at that time either, so it's obviously not going to take much for him to earn an extension.

The u21's have actually been quite decent to watch with Pereira, Januzaj, Keane and co lately. Much prefer them over the comatose shit the first team musters up.

I dont know whats worse, the fact that Muppet is still our manager or Woody allowing the Manager to swan off to the Netherlands and the players to have a two day rest period after we got beaten by Southampton and we have a game in 3 days time!

Is utterly ridiculous!

And we laugh at RAWK. Some real panic in here, maintaining a pretty high average over a period of months. Long term meltdown.

If reports are to be believed.. He handed in his resignation after the Norwich game, Stoke game and then the Southampton game..

So there's been more Van Gaal resignation offers than we've scored first half goals at Old Trafford this season.

Maybe his philosophy has extended from "the players thinking for themselves" to them coaching and managing themselves as well.

Sorry but that's all bullshite made up by the press because there's no story like a United team in crisis. A week ago LvG was "eyeing the title" and seven days later he's with one foot out of OT again. The journos feed off the desperation of United fans just to get a few more clicks or re-tweets.

And what exactly does "he offered his resignation but it wasn't accepted by Woodward?" As far as i know resigning from your job is a unilateral action, you either do it or you don't. If LvG truly believed that there's nothing more he can do with this squad and wanted to terminate his contract now, there's nothing Woodward could have said to make him change his opinion.

We are a fecking circus...

There must be something is and can do?
Obviously on social media, but maybe like the green&gold campaign, bring it back perhaps? A visible sign to show our horror at what is unfolding.
Every official communication from the club is greeted by a wall of hate from the Twitterati. I don't think it makes much of a dent to be honest. I think we're going to have to just moan to each other constantly until, eventually, the situation becomes so absurd that Woodward has to take some kind of action.

You can't quit and leave the same day, unless your boss allow you to. Even if LVG decides to quit, he will have to bide his time during the notice period.

It's been a breath of fresh air watching them this season, Something like 53 shots at goal in the last 2 games, something I'd expect from United....well the u21's anyway

I know that, i was referring to the part that he was convinced to stay at the club by Woodward. From what i understand there hasn't been a decision to let him go as there wasn't such a decision when he presumably offered his resignation after the Norwich defeat.

There's no such thing as "i want to resign but i'll run down my contract if you don't have a replacement", that's comical.

I don't know why it's so hard for people to get their head around. He's 'reportedly' offered to resign, the context being that he's offering to agree to a mutual termination of thr contract if the club so wish. The club don't agree to the offered mutual termination.

No one has reported that he's quit and plans to breach his contract with the club. That would be a very different thing.

I can't decide whether us not sacking him already is down to stupidity, cowardice or just just out right incompetence.

I think he still believes that he has the support of the majority of fans. To deflate his ego we should have a huge tifo with thousands of LvG print balloons and pop them just before kick off. Might interpret it as a threat though.

It's massaging the media, Woodward is trying to save face. He needs to go, before he completely ruins it all.

We're not becoming Liverpool; we're becoming Arsenal - fans' anger being ignored as much as possible; money and pride being first priorities; and under-achievement being acceptable. A club held hostage by individuals.

Yeah but at least Liverpool have played relatively exciting football in their demise years.. first the Spice boys era, then the Owen/Gerrard era.. Rafa's team was entertaining enough and a cohesive tactical unit capable of taking on anyone in world football and then the Rodgers era with some beautiful football. Same with Arsenal.

Decades of failure, yes perhaps but good football teams to watch. This is horrific.. like I honestly haven't seen anything like it from a European Giant especially. We are in uncharted territory here. We're the footballing equivalent of Lehman Brothers right now.

He's not going anywhere is he? Think we will have to endure until the end of the season.

What the feck he is still doing here if he himself know that he can't fulfill fans expectation? Why he is still in the job knowing he can't do it properly? Get the feck out.

Imagine openly admitting you couldn't do your job after also proving you so obviously can't. Then being allowed to carry on anyway.

Woodward obviously either thinks we can get Pep, or he is merely relying on blind faith.

Woodward must have some big balls to keep thís show rolling on.
Sounds to me like he is well trusted by the Glazers and not in any danger of getting the sack himself.
