The boards of clubs in the relegation zone often lose their nerve in February and sack their manager, and occasionally a Robson will come along and save an apparently doomed West Brom.
We're in a similar boat, there's no way we will make the top four under LVG, averaging a point a game. He'll be gone soon.

We were never making the top four under Moyes yet we only sacked him after it became mathematically impossible, so don't bank on Van Gaal going soon.

'Sad thing is that nobody at all surprised by today's result. Inc Woodward/Glazers I'm sure. Nothing but mid-table mediocrity since Fergie'.

'Meanwhile the academy and the scouting network is in a state. Years of underinvestment at all levels. Shambles.'

'Glazers only care about the magic EBITDA and the sodding share price. Woodward only has to deliver the "partners" and sod the football.'

No idea how to post tweets, but this is from the very good Andy Green (Andersred), depressing, and hard to see a way out just now.

Rubbish. Any excuse to bang on about finances again

Indeed, and hopefully that lesson will have been learned.

I really doubt it. Look at our results in December. What top club keeps their manager in charge after such a run? ... besides us of course.

Adidas is the way out, they are the "partners" and they already said what they think about the football. The problem isn't financial, it's just that the board doesn't know what next step they should take.

Thing is though, the football is directly related to how many partners we can have, what we can charge for sponsorship, etc. If we keep playing crap, and losing, more importantly, then they'll sack him.

I hope he resigns tonight.

"I wanted to win this game and that’s why I changed Cameron Borthwick-Jackson for Adnan Januzaj," added the Dutchman.

That's taken from his post-match press conference. Who is he kidding, if you want to win a football match, you make the changes earlier. 5 minutes isn't enough time to win a football match.

The guy is deluded. Please, please, sack this man. He's not only distancing fans from their club, he's also destroying the long legacy of football we've come to enjoy.
He played Adnan in a defensive 5. We discussed this being silly when we needed to score at the game with fans around us.

Which is not the best board to have at a club our size.

It's rubbish because the club sells excellence to the sponsors.

The only quote anyone could disagree with is:

'Glazers only care about the magic EBITDA and the sodding share price. Woodward only has to deliver the "partners" and sod the football.'

And this is been borne out as we speak, sack LvG tomorrow then fair enough, but in absence of that then no, he is right, even then it is only a means to improve the above.

In Moyes season we would have been eighth with 37 points at this point of the season. We are now playing worse football, worse results and there are no signs of improving. Fecking 73% of our attempted passes were successful today.

Yet. LVG now 4/7 on to be next manager to be sacked.

And? He was favourite to be sacked in December and look what happened. Just because X person becomes favourite for whatever doesn't mean it'll happen. Hazard will of been favourite to join either United or City back in 2013... he ended up at Chelsea.

Moyes also did do better in the Champions League, and his team entertained to some degree.

And that's the only important part in the quote, they accuse the Glazers of something stupid. If the only important thing was the partners they would have fired LVG, the contracts are already signed and the next big batch of sponsoring are around 2020, the Glazers need to show ambition before that otherwise the sponsors will offer less money.

Obviously the 41 feckers who want to give him an extension are City and Liverpool fans having the craic, but I'm surprised there are still 370+ United fans on here who don't want him gone yet.

Well what is it then?

Does Fergie really say "he's gone" here?

Looks more like:

Certainly is in the youth, and a £28 million net spend and reduction in the wage bill last season, after the enforced panic buying the season before is hardly convincing.

The club offered more than 100m for Muller, the club didn't spent because they didn't managed to not because they didn't wanted.

Seeing how he board has reacted so far, they will reject it and put the contract extension on the table for him to sign.
