I just dont understand why he hasnt been sacked yet. If we are not in for Pep then wtf is the board waiting for?! I was convinced he was gone after losing three in a row but now it seems like they seriously want him to stay no matter what happens this season and this could be horrific for the club.

I'm trying to prepare myself for a 6th place finish at best.

He hasn't got a lot to take credit for. His best performers have almost all been players here before he arrived or ones lined up beforehand. This is the truth of the matter. Instead of a glib comment you could tell me what makes his signings so shrewd.

Ok in my opinion the likes of Shaw Herrera Martial Depay Morgan will be here for years to come and all look like they have the potential to become main players. Blind and Bastian for the money we got them were good signings. I am hopeful Darmain will level out and hopeful he does as he could become a great asset. The turn over in the squad was needed as the amount of deadwood in the squad was embarrassing and LVG has turned this around very well. His two main failures were Falcao and Di Maria and both flopped for different reasons.
Yes the football is boring but his signings have been excellent I my opinion. I think he's been unlucky with injuries and form plus he left himself with too a small squad to cope. Plus he has to take responsibility for his tactics. But no doubting his signings make so much sense especially next to Moyes two!

I noticed the Times story last night and expected to wake up to loads of media outlets running with the same thing. Seems to be just a Times "exclusive" though, so obviously not briefed by the club.

Be interesting to see if it gathers momentum between now and then.

What story is this acrebo?

Ducker has said that if we loose to liverpool, LVG and the team will be in trouble.
No matter how much I despise LVG, I cannot stomach losing to that shower of shite with that hippie at the helm.

In a perverted sort of way it would be interesting to see what the board do if Liverpool beat us. Fans will definitely not stand for it and the pressue would get even worse.

Anyway, I'm pretty confident we'll win. Will be interesting to see what van Gaal does with Fellaini. He's not in good form but Liverpool is an absolute mess at set-pieces so he might be worth playing.

If Fellaini starts on Sunday, my prediction right now is he will be sent off.

The rewards don't match the risks. Fellaini is a liability when it comes to team organization. With Liverpool's pressing, it will be a disaster.

If he fecking runs down the touchline celebrating draws, imagine what he'll be doing sunday if they were to beat us :nervous:

Suck on Allen's beard?
Ughhh. I don't even want to think about it. I hope we absolutely smash them to smithereens. We need this win and we need to make sure we put those scousers back in their place.

Depends on where we play him. One of the simplest ways to beat that high press is the long ball out providing you have someone who is capable of winning the aerial duels up the pitch. So when Fellaini was playing as the attacking mid last season it worked well.

If we play him as a holding midfielder like we have been doing then yes it's suicide.

On performances though he should be dropped anyway, he's genuinely missed about 5 sitters in the past few months that could have been worth a lot of points.

That's exactly what I said in the match thread, he should have been off the other day and with Liverpool pressing like they do I'm 99% sure he'll be off.

Our options aren't great are they?

Fellaini will probably get sent off.
Carrick's been shit against teams that press him throughout his career, and thats only gotten worse as he's got older.
Schweinsteiger is injured I presume.

Ugh.

Just the thought of it makes me nauseous
 the papers will have a field day with that imagery....the 2nd cumming.

At least they'll play an open game with us, so I can see us scoring. Questions is, both defences are up to shit these days, so how many will we concede? Hopefully Bastian is back to add some much needed steel.

Can anyone pull up the stats of how much pts did Moyes gathered after his first 21 leagues games? I reckon it wouldn't be too far off.

Depay should be our 4th choice winger but the problem we have is Mata and Lindergard are so far away from the standard we need. Hopefully we buy Mane and Moura what a boost that would be for us. Darmain looks wanting as well.

As much as I agree with what you are saying Herrera should have played better. The guy gets better every match he doesn't play. He has had enough chances time to start producing imo.

Started well then faded and has not been any better than McNair level. Which considering he's a full Italian international is disappointing, hopefully he kicks on and it's just a case of settling in. But I like my defenders to have a basic level that they just don't go below when playing poorly (getting the basics right and doing simple things properly) and Darmans basic level is way below what I thought it would be.
You don't show much consistency. Not exactly the opinion of somebody who thinks those are shrewd signings.

On the contrary you plucked a small sample from what I have been saying all season. I think Blind is a great squad player but not week in starting 11 material. Herrera could be a fixture here no problem but he's got to step up to the plate, martial is a star, Bastian I think is a great signing as we lack experience, Darmain has been poor after starting very well but hopefully he acclimatises and settles to the league, Depay has been woeful but of late there are signs he looks like he is finding himself but he really shouldn't be first choice at this stage but he could become a real star. Morgan should be in the team every week. Think that about wraps up all LVG signings apart from the sub GK. Oh and Mata and Lingard are not LVG signings. So show me where I say LVG has made bad signings in the post you quote?

People say he'll be sent off nearly every game in the match day thread. I don't know why people are unable to see that he doesn't often get red cards. He's had a total of two reds in the premier league, one with us and one with Everton.

I think his performances provide evidence enough for criticism, there isn't really any need to pretend he's a liability as well.

You think Darmian and Depay have been poor and Herrera isn't doing enough on one hand but they're shrewd signings apparently. So ultimately all his shrewdness amounts to three players you think should be starting. One of which was all but signed, sealed and delivered under the previous manager. Even if we go with your take of all these great signings it just makes the job he's doing managing them even worse. That's ignoring the players he's signed and sold, Rojo who is shite, Romero who is shite and the keeper that's getting paid to watch us from the stands.

Take a look at this......

Telling me the Glazers will stand by him if this keeps up?

Is there any evidence of this being related to our on field performances rather than, say, shares being moved and other financially related operations?

Much as I hope this is the catalyt to rid us of LvG, I would say this has more to do with overall trend with share prices atm rather than anything else, like I say I hope I'm wrong though.

JP Morgan upgraded the PLC to overweight in November.
