I just wonder what Van Gaal's excuse will be if we get battered by Liverpool. I can see us losing to Newcastle and him riding it out. If we get a real hiding from the Scousers though s-t will hit the fan real fast.

It is interesting how people can pick on a particular word he uses and then build a complete different story. Is this where he starts to blame players?" and the like. If you think we get pissed off seeing the players inability to break down the opposition, think how the staff and players feel when they have trained allweek and nothing is going as planned. Anger and frustration are probably an understatement.
He's hard to decipher. On one hand he's saying the fans should be happy but then saying he is bored and angry. Is he bipolar?

@roseguy64 this is the kind of shit I'm talking about, it's nothing to do with language, he's just a frigging moron.
Mourinho's said similar. It's all deflection. Caring about the trivial stuff he says is just too much. He's gotten across that he sees the problem which is in the final 3rd. He's trying to fix it. He may well not and he'll be sacked/resign or he will and we'll all move on.

He'll need new players for that, unless Rooney suddenly returns to the form he showed in 2008. What are the chances of that happening? Van Gaal gambled on Rooney and it hasn't paid off. We should have bought a striker last summer.

I think he genuinely thinks fans are glory hunters just interested in results, which probably is true for 90% of fans. Look at Arsenal fans giving Wenger grief for years for no end product.
I think he is showing empathy with the fans because it is not like he is watching something different to us. So if we are pissed why wouldn't he be.

Getting Van Gaal in. Signing Di Maria and Falcao. My expectations were through the roof....

Can't believe how far this debacle has fallen and how long it's been allowed to go on.

Even in the summer, the signing of Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin. I really though that would be massive for us.

Not too mention the DDG deal collapsing on the 11th hour. Coup of the decade that.

"Why won't Van Gaal admit we are are shit, does he think the fans are idiots? LVG out!"

"I can't believe Van Gaal has admitted we are shit, this is unacceptable, LVG out!"

Would any other club in Europe have kept him in charge? No.

Just like Moyes, we will fail to make the obvious decision and it will be too late by time it's done. Quite incredible that for the second time in a few years, we are going to fail to appoint any of the worlds top 3 managers in a summer when they were/are all available.

He has admitted it, but is it a good way to keep the players onside? If they feel he is trying to save himself by publically criticising them he will not be far off losing them. If he hasn't already.
I don't think he has lost them. I am sure he has told the players the same thing multiple times as well. It's the whole "A Footballer has to think for himself on the pitch" concept of his I don't like. We are talking about professional footballers, who have gotten that far driven by instinct. So asking them to go against that (It's fine in a defensive situation) can really confuse these players on how to play and lead to poor decision making.

It is strange that one talks of 'expected to win' against Newcastle on their own ground. Even when the top teams are on form, this is not an easy game regardless of their current form and position. I remember United getting a right pasting up there one year. Saying all that I would put money on United to get the points tomorrow.
LVG must be feeling that he is the most hated person in the world at the moment, god knows how this constant bleating is impacting the players.
In the past, a loss wouldn't have been unexpected but now we just can't afford to be throwing away point against teams fighting relegation. We have already dropped too many stupid points. That is what I mean by anything less than a win just won't do.

You think we'll go into the game against Liverpool with Giggs in charge as caretaker? No chance.
Why not??? If we lose to Newcastle, then Im sure Giggs can't do much worse than LVG is currently. And the players could be rejuvenated etc.

1.15 am for me this match. I have not missed a match in over a decade. Even if i have had power outages i have asked to see it at neighbour's place or a cousins house, i have watched most meaningless preaseason friendlies. its a record i hold dear to myself, i know its not much but i have been proud supporter of our club, i am finding it really hard to gather enough motivation to watch this. I mean, i know the result, i will be angry and pissed shouting at my tv at 4.00 am in the morning. Will have a shit work day and feel shit over next few days. Its so sad, we should have changed manager about a month ago.
Oldham, real sociedad, Lyon all have changed manager with less worse records than ours. We are manutd FFS! when did mediocrity become acceptable?
I dont know if i am hoping for a win or not, Not sure losing costs LVG his job but winning/drawing keeps him in it. For a better future of The club i support i just hope we lose badly tonight and just end this nightmare with Louis van fraud.

Are you Indian?

Well yeah, the key point is that we are shit.

Van Gaal seems to like Fellaini more than Moyes did.

When LVG was appointed many of us (myself included) thought he'd have no use for Fellaini and would quickly drop him and Rooney. Funny how just the opposite has happened.

0-0 before half time?
Can't score before halftime?
Rooney can't score on competitive games?

LVG 2016 Renaissance truly underway :p

Our goal difference is 7, if we keep up this electric pace, we'll hit a massive 13 by season's end. Good times.

He's back. Bang bang, two goals just like that. Some excitement too.

And here we have one of the games where we play alright and everyone gets their hopes up.

Will he like the fact we are counter attacking because that means less possession? I for one would much rather see more of this. It's more nervy, but more exciting.

Plus we're actually scoring with it, which is always kinda handy.

Sorry, I think we've been mediocre. Only look better because of the poor opposition. I need to see more than this to regain some faith in LVG. Moyes beat this lot 3-0 away later into his season.

Better, but want to see a lot more.

Todays negatives has mostly been personal errors.
At least that's what I was thinking until he took off Herrera.
