Here's what I don't understand about the glazers. They also own the TB Buccaneers in the NFL and they have fired their last three head coaches at the slightest degree of unsuccess. Raheem Mooris was the coach for three seasons, Greg Schiano for two and their latest coach Lovie Smith was fired earlier this week after only two seasons when they have a very young team and a rookie QB which is the most important position in the game and due to inexperience, will be prone to making mistakes. The glazers show no patience with their NFL head coaches, firing them when it's not justified. Yet they are willing to be patient with United managers when they deserve to get sacked in this case LvG? That to me is a damning indictment that the Glazers prioritize the Buccaners over Manchetser United. They should sell, I swear they are part of the problem when you look at the direction of the club.

Can discuss their approach of sacking managers but they are pure businessman. Invested 190 milion dollars in 1995 in the TB Buccaneers which is now worth an estimated bilion. Not a bad investment aye.

If we continue to play as we have been doing so far this season and he remains manager beyond this season, how many ST holders on here will think twice about renewing? I currently have a 50% share in a ST and personally if he's still there I doubt I will do it again next season. In fact I'm having second thoughts about going to the games I have left, I would just let my mate go but he doesn't want to either!

If the board continues this shit I hope our revenue halves by 2017 and old trafford becomes a ghost town.

That might happen, this should be entertaining... Sadly what United is showing under LVG isn't entertaining at all...

Feel sorry for the match going fans having to sit through such painful 'football' every week.

Think we will be soundly beaten by newcastle, they seem to have a bit of guile about them again, will be the same against pretty much any team away from home, at home we may or may not beat the weaker teams. It is going to get a lot worse, there is no turning this around, it is obvious, that is why I cannot understand why he has not been fired. The stadium was'nt even full yesterday, and it got emptier as the game went on, I think we are a patient bunch, we can accept periods where we are not achieving, but building, going in the right direction, but this is just awful, there is nothing good to it. If he stays as manager there is no doubt about it we won't get top 4, not even close, the board need to do something about that, he should be expected to win the league this year given the time and money he has been afforded, people need to realise that, even 4th is not good enough here, you need to win, that is the standard that has been set, at the biggest club in the World, that standard should never be lowered.

It's got to the point now where it's a bit of a joke. I kinda turn up with a bit of optimism that we are gonna play brilliantly suddenly, then when it's the same I shout a bit of abuse at how shit we are before slowly falling asleep. The worst bit is because of the crowd my 4G doesn't work so I can't go on Facebook.

Why does the crowd affect your 4G?

They don't have Fergie, Charlton and others behind the scene talking about giving the manager more time as it's not the "United way" to sack a manager.

Why does the crowd affect your 4G?

Too many people trying to use the network in a small area. The mobile networks can't handle the traffic so they grind to a halt... I have the same problem. I can't even whatsapp my mates and rant about how bad we're playing.

The silence after that performance is downright insulting.

How in anyway is this acceptable? Surely Ferguson must be finding this deplorable and voicing his desire for change?
He'll be the last person to call for a managers head. He use to talk about that a lot when he was a manager and someone else got fired.

Does anyone still care?

Woodward and the rest of our inept board just see profits rolling in and think it will last forever.
As soon as they see profits falling , they will sell. None of them really care about the club.
feck our board.

He won't publicly but who knows what's said behind closed doors. Even he must be able to see that things are pretty bloody awful.

Given that the coaches you mention were sacked after 3,2&2 seasons respectively, then sacking Moyes after 9 months was far from the damning indictments you mention. I don't care for their ownership of our great club but let's be honest, they didn't feck about with getting rid of Moyes after giving him the best part of a season to feck it up, and I'm sure LvG will be given all the time he needs to prove he isn't capable of getting top 4 this season.

off topic but i remember opposition fans were thrilled with the fact Man United were going to appoint Van Gaal. They predicted he was outdated, will fall-out with players and stubborn who wont change even if things weren't going right. His reign will have a bitter end.

And to be honest i thought he was the world-class manager he was back in 95. I guess they were damn right while we got it awfully wrong.

It'll be interesting to see what we do in these next two games, if we can keep Newcastle and Liverpool at arms length and nick a couple of goals to win both games he'll be back in the good books, these two games are just the time we need that sort of performance.

Pressure is really on now, and I bet he's glad we're playing away.

Reckon the pressure has been on him from day 1.

We were in a right mess when he took over, aging squad, totally demoralized players after the Moyes experiment and out of Europe. The hierarchy can not afford to allow that negligence to happen again, we need a consistent balance of academy, young and experienced players. I think they also need to re-invent United for the modern fan, we seem to have lost our identity.

LVG has been attacked from day 1, from past players who played for him, ex-United players who have never played for him, ex-United staff and even ex-staff that worked with him. So he has brought a lot of baggage and has been under the spotlight all the time. Seriously can't think of another manager that has had to put up with the amount of abuse he has. Maybe, Woy when he went to Liverpool, but really seems to handle it quite well.

As for the two wins to get in the good books, think the bridge with so many fans has been broken now. He could win the league, but though he would gain respect from the majority of fans for that, I still doubt they would want him to stay. Let's just hope he really has built the foundation in terms of balance so it is not another $300M+ investment needed.

I think a lot his problems and 'abuse' has been of his own making, he is what he is though, and I just hope Woodward truly did his homework before he took him on.

In terms of the highlighted hope is all we've got, because we aren't seeing it atm, by the looks we still need a CB, a AM, a RW, and a CF, that got to be another £150 m worth there alone, I just hope LvG doesn't get to spend it myself.

Yep, we also have Schweinie, Carrick and Rooney to replace in 18 months time, if not before. That is why I think the balance is important in age groups. Not long after that Mata. So hopefully, the academy players will have proved themselves or we need to go and buy even more.

It's a strange one with the academy players, he has no issue playing McNair, CBJ, Pereira, Blackett, etc in defence because they are so well protected by the two holding midfielders and world class keeper, yet up front is arguebly where we have the most talented kids, yet Wilson and Januzaj are shipped out, and Periera barely gets a kick, he loves Lingard and he has done well, but by all accounts we are after a RW so not sure where this leaves him long term. When he does get a chance to put alot of trust in a young attacking player in a big game he calls on Powell!

He is clearly trying with the kids, but I think a lot has been forced on him through him selling so many squad players, and it's open to plenty of debate over who will be actually good enough long term.

You lot are such a bunch of fecking whingers!

Its barely January and we are 7 points away from target.

I say we are fine.

Missed (or rather deliberately avoided) the news and reports since Saturday's game.

Have just seen on FB that LvG is actually blaming the poor performance on Mata for repeatedly defying his orders and coming in off the wing too often, not staying bloody-mindedly out wide. LvG attributes the eventual goal to the fact that HIS changes adhered to his plans and stuck to the touch-line … strange, didn't Memphis win the penalty (in the box)?

I thought that the game on Saturday was boring because there was no creativity and inspirational thought injected by the players and now we have the confirmation that it is, as many of us have long thought, the managers instructions not a lack of individual footballing brains.

Wing play being too rigid and players robotically staying too wide and NEVER coming inside is one of the things that is repeatedly highlighted on MNF as a factor of LvGs set-up that makes us so predictable and easy to set up against.

If LvG is staying it begs the question, why are we in for all these expensive creative players in the transfer window, when he's just going to train all that creativity out of them anyway and ask them to play bloody minded football that barely works against lower league and relegation fodder? Why not buy cheap brainless morons who will do what he asks - we'll not be in Europe next year anyway so what's the difference?

This egomaniac cannot go quick enough for my liking!

He just needs to go. He pretty much assembled this squad and still does not know what to do with it. What are the roles of Blind, Herrera, Mata, Fellaini. What formation are we playing, do we ever have any decent plan B against various opponents? What the heck is going on during training sessions? Why do we have so many injuries, and why do we look knackered after 60-ish minute in each game? Is LvG accountable for spending a quarter of billion pounds and playing shite, while making half a billion fans all over the world feel pissed off?

Pound for pound in this league, he's been one of the worst managers in the league.

A saddening thing is that some of the teams doing better than us have spent much less, starting on even weaker bases than we did. A lot also play much better football.

The one positive is that we'll appreciate a superior manager playing good football more when we get him. Whenever that happens.

The pressure will really be on if we get spanked by Liverpool, which could happen.

Does anyone wonder what's wrong with LVG? If he was this poor, he will never have worked with Barca and Bayern and he wouldn't have won those trophies. What's going on at United? Is the job too big for him?

As he said, he was a very good manager.

But of the 19 trophies he's won, 15 have been won before the turn of the millenium.

Other than his first year at Bayern, he's been regressing steadily.

Not suited to English football either, and seems reluctant or unable to adapt.
