Cope journalist, followed by ballague etc.
Mourinho sits on the bench at manchester next week.

Defeated man in the post match interview. Out of ideas. Feel sorry for him but he has just got so much shit wrong with us at this stage, just a snowball effect

He has to go, but I did feel sorry for him in that post match interview. He looked a broken man.

Bloody hell, Rooney's dropped him.

Him saying they 'don't dare to play football' struck me as, 'they aren't playing for me'...or am I reading too much into it?

He has to go, he's done as much as he can, it's not worked out...Mickey Shorts in until the end of the season!

"The problem is we don't dare to play and that's my....analysis"

Swap analysis for fault and you're onto something there Louis.

Yeah that was baffling. The players have clearly been instructed to play like that (tactically I mean)

They cut the death stare off.

Thanks!

Right now our board has a very simple question to answer: Can appointing Mourinho or Giggs increase our chances of top 4 than leaving LVG in place. Im actually not sure I know the answer to that question.

Listening to that, I have a feeling that the board are going to ride this out with him. Even without LVG's decades of experience, we also have SAF, Gill and Charlton on our board. Despite making some mistakes, they now how football works.

They know how it used to work. I fear that's the problem.

1- ... when we're already 2-0 down (and should be more really) and about 5 minutes from time. If we're counting Fellaini's (very few, at most one per game) missed chances, then how many chances did Stoke waste today?

2- ... and who keeps playing Fellaini? And in a position that makes him the one taking our crucial (and only) chance every game?
That was sarcasm.

Please just sack him tonight. To have him face the OT crowd on Monday is cruel. I was worried for van Gaal, he looked like he was going to cry.

the thing is....I still really like him, not so much as a manager of United, but as a person, as a personality. He's interesting, different.....I so so wanted him to succeed!

Why ? Its not as if supporting managers early on is a bad thing.

I am obviously not serious.

Though there are a few who have ended up in both apologist camps, just based on 'giving the manager time' agenda no matter what is happening on the pitch.

I feel the same, it's hard to know why it's suddenly all gone wrong but it has and badly

Get Mourinho in and who knows we may still be able to content for the title given who's above us

Just looking at his overall accomplishments:

7 League titles in 3 different countries.
1 European Cup.
2 European Cup final appearances.
Intercontinental Cup.
UEFA Cup.
7 domestic cups.
2 UEFA Supercups.
World Cup Bronze Medal.

Van Gaal had a fabulous career, he's trained some all time greats of the game; unfortunately things just weren't meant to be at United. This will hurt him more than anyone can imagine, and that's just a small fraction of the reason why we should part ways right this minute. Let him enter the New Year with serenity, and without the specter of failure looming in the background. Let him meet his grand-kids, and retire in Portugal with Truus. He has his faults, but there's no point delaying the inevitable while disgracing an old man further. Plus, we need to get our season back on track too. The turnaround from a 4 defeat spiral will be gradual, regardless of who the new manager is. Let's start that process ASAP, otherwise we might fall further behind the pack.

Well said. Not everybody gets a fairytale ending and van Gaal's ending at United is going to be a pretty ignominious one. Pretty much everybody (myself included) on here believes he should go, but i hope it isn't forgotten that he had a fantastic career as a manager, just didn't work at United. That happens. There were flashes, however fleeting of what it might look like when it all clicks, but that didn't happen often enough. United have a season to save and should set about doing that soon. United and van Gaal, now, are better off without each other.

I think this sudden downturn has been disguised as part of a mucher longer decline. Our performances were the first to drop off but we maintained narrow victories so there wasn't too much fuss, however now results are matching those performances as well.

I think thats also my issue right now. I'ver worked for people like LVG in my career and they are wonderful bosses. I respect him for having such a defined opinion or what he calls philosophy. He is one of the crazy ones.

We lose (again) whilst City are 3-0 in opening twenty minutes.. Football isn't what it used to be.

Aloysius Paulus Maria van Gaal has had a legendary career, winning trophies in The Netherlands, Spain and Germany. He knows football. But it hasn't been able to get it done in England, a league that's completely different than the other leagues that are dominated by 1 or 2 clubs. The EPL is much more competitive, where anyone can beat anyone. The speed and power of the game in England, even from smaller clubs, caught him by surprise. He's tried to drain the energy and passion out of opponents with his possession tactics, but all it's done is drained energy and passion out of his own players.

Lesson learned: our next manager has to have experience managing in England.

I can understand why the board might not want to bring in Jose for the match against Chelsea in two days (a decision I disagree with, but I understand the thinking), but if the board sticks with Van Gaal after the Chelsea match there will be pitchforks.

Woody needs to sack the manager, now.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal says he is in a "new situation" in his time at the club after his side suffered a fourth successive defeat.

United were beaten 2-0 at Stoke and have gone seven games without a win.

"I have received [the club's backing] all the time but we have lost so there is a new situation," said the Dutchman.

"I feel the support of my players and my board. The fans will be disappointed but that is logical after four defeats."

I hope the "new situation" is that he'll be relaxing at home watching the United-Chelsea game on TV.

Thanks!

Can Giggs (probably not) or Mourihno win more than 4 games in 17? Can they get one of the most expensive squads in Europe to score more than 7 goals in 10 games?

Leave LvG in place, say good bye to Europe. Bring back the Intertoto cup.

Louis van Gaal's suggests might quit as United boss in his presser: "The club doesn't have to sack me. Sometimes I do it by myself."
