I think its the right way to go about it. Brendan rodgers was given 3 games to save himself and he did not do well and was sacked. I think united are right with this, if he fails to win the stoke game, he will be gone and i think that looks very much on. I think its like giving last shock to a dying person, maybe a miracle might happen or he is dead.

Its stupid to have an ultimatum if it is true, especially if there is player unrest. What's to stop the players not performing when they know that the manager they don't like will be sacked if they don't win? Its like we're forfeiting two games.

The sad thing about this article is its all too believable.

The club we love is being left behind, not just by Europe's elite, but by the tier below that too.

Indecision, mismanagement, and terrible judgement are turning us into another Liverpool.

I will end up having to explain to my kids there was a time United were regularly successful...

 What an exaggeration.

Lads, Shaka Hislop has spoken. We may as well close the thread, to be quite fecking honest.

Shaka Hislop has an opinion on United and LVG that is deemed worth publishing.

Shaka Hislop.

It's past 3.30. What ever happened to the press conference that the Caf was looking forward to all day?

Getting reports of unwanted tickets for the FA cup and Europa games. First indications of fans showing apathy towards the present regime, quality of football, and the cost of games. Bad sign for LVG if this increases.

Bloody hell!

I use to look forward to pre match press conferences. What utter crap will we hear in a minute? Excuses? Injuries blah blah blah, togetherness blah blah blah.

Just goes to show that if the board don't want to listen then we really do have the power to force him out of the club.

How's it an exaggeration?

He has every right to think that, considering the shite we come up with week in, week out. What makes you think anything is going to suddenly get better? We've chucked £250 million at the problem to make it go away and we look like a fecking lost cause.

If we feck up this season by the indecision and bad judgement #07 mentioned, then his scenario isn't really that unlikely. We're on a downward slope and need to make some good decisions, and bloody sharpish too.

Predictable. A lot of fuss about nothing. Twitter drives the paper rumours these days. He's not going any time soon.

I don't see much on the media doing wrong. It's been mostly from crap like Trevor Sinclair so he should call LvG instead.

Truth!!!

Good on his part! Let's get behind him and the team for Stoke!

I hope he changes and learns his lesson but I think it's set up for him to resign rather then be sacked. So the next few games might be important for him still. I think we sympathized with him and would give him a chance to resign but we'll see. We need to go on a run now

Sooner we part ways the better it will be for the club. I don't think we will get anything at Stoke and I very much doubt the players will give their all with van Gaal's position in heavy doubt.

In regards to the media and social media shitstorm, he only has himself to blame. Shit tactics, shit football and abysmal results have led to that. If he can't deal with it he's better off retiring.

Twitter was the worst. All those fake accounts and people believing/retweeting/posting them.

Yet we hang on every one of them during turbulent times and transfer windows. If we lose or draw vs Stoke he will resign I think. The opp fans are going to have a field day with this.

Noone should hang on to what fake accounts say. Bizarre how much relevance people were giving them yesterday.

So looks like we're definitely sticking by this "win 2 of next 3 games" from before the Norwich game. Which is stupid. If you reached the point of an ultimatum, just sack him and be done with it because you're just delaying the inevitable. Especially when a manager like Jose Mourinho is ready and waiting. If it was an ultimatum for a caretaker manager to take over for the foreseeable future, I'd understand. Not when his replacement is ready to take over instantly.

There's talking and there's calling someone and trying to make them feel better. I don't think it's as literal as suggested. Gill and Sir Alex may have spoken him just to raise his spirits.

I agree. But then again the next 2 games will be done within a space of a week so i'm sure Jose can wait a week.

Every single line of that is an exaggeration. We're in the top 4. We're nowhere near doing a Liverpool. We did a Liverpool under Moyes. LVG took us back into the top 4 and now we're still there. Yes we're not fighting for 1st, but we're in the top 4. That's not doing a Liverpool. Facht.

We're not being left behind by the tier below Europe's elite either. The last time I checked, we're above them in the league and we haven't played any Europa matches yet to see if the tier below Europe's elite are steaming on ahead of us. Hence, exaggeration.

The last part about telling kids about how we used to be successful, give me a break. It's been 2 years since we won the league. Chelsea went 4 years without winning it last season. Do you think their fans were sat around fires last year telling their children the legends of the last time Chelsea won the league all those hundreds of years ago? I can understand the frustration with how we're playing, but it's one thing to be frustrated and another to be pathetic. Let's not blow this widely out of proportion. We're playing shite and under performing this season, that's it.

How does that revenue work out versus TV revenue + Woody's noodle partnerships etc? I don't believe the club give a stuff about the fans unless we drop below a certain threshold of making money.

We're going to miss out on Jose aren't we?

We're probably thinking along the lines of having to pay off LVG and match Jose's wages from Abramavich which were massive. Success on the pitch and enjoyable football are subsidiary concerns.

No offence Zarlak but..

We aren't in the Top 4 anymore, we are slipping, In fact Palace and WATFORD can overtake us this weekend.

We are alot closer to doing a Liverpool then alot of people realise. We are in free fall with LVG and Top 4 is going to be a push this season if we stay with him, That is going backwards ala Liverpool. IF we persist with LVG then that could get even worse in time speeding up the fall.

I'm not interested if the 2nd tier Euro clubs are eclipsing us, that fact of the matter is a club our size should be battling with the ELITE clubs, and we are a million miles away with Van Gaal in charge.

I liked the way that people were so certain he'd go, and that Mourinho, who had just been sacked after a pure meltdown, whom we had severe opposition to appointing to last time, would come in!
