What of Jose comes in down the line and Madrid/Chelsea's us. Brief success, catastrophic meltdown, sacked, Rafa or Hiddink come in.

Then what? Scary.
Madrid finished 2nd and reached the CL semis in his final season with them. In their "amazing" first season with Ancelotti the following year, they finished 3rd.

Yep the best in league, only since we're 'going down'
 erm he's kinda the current league champion!

Go home, you're drunk
As I said before, look at all the shit we laughed about in the past and said thank god this' not happening here. He's a very good manager, no doubt, but is he still perfect for us? I doubt it. You seem to be blinded by your desperation

Wish we could have such a 'catastrophic' season.

People complain about or boring football yet want Jose to take over

Playing boring football doesn't mean you're washed up. Mourinho has had success at every club he's been at, and I think people tend to forget that Chelsea played some lovely attacking football last season.

I don't think as many people would be complaining if were playing dross yet winning every week. It's the playing boring football combined with toothless performances and a poor run that has turned people.

Exactly. Sure there was a lot of drama with the players behind the scenes, but people act as if Real is a club where that sort of thing doesn't normally happen regardless of manager.

Well I have more faith in the institution of Man United (our board, footballing figures, SAF, Sir Bobby, etc) to ensure what was happening at Chelski would never happen here.

Ps. SAF was a saint was he?
Remember Cantona kicking a fan, was that 'United-image' of him?
What about Keane?

He is not sitting at the top anymore, and that for some time. But you're too excited to see the flaws I guess
I see his championship trophy in one of the hardest leagues in the world.

You didn't answer my question btw...

Exactly. Madrid was a circus before Jose, and is a circus after him. If anything, he tried to end the player power there and paid for it.

Obviously its been a mess at Chelsea this season, but thats the only real blot on his CV. Right now, he's the best manager available, at a time when we need a top manager. Its a no brainier.

As for looking for the 'perfect' manager, theres no such thing. All managers have their negatives. Even Saint Pep.

Results above quality of football, I agree. I personally just don't see him as our best solution, that's all. People get all riled up and don't see the negatives from the past

Yet English teams fail miserably in the CL. I'd prefer Pep, Ancelotti or Enrique. Even Simeone or, even if risky, Tuchel

Yeah, I agree for the most part. I'd actually like to see us playing some nice football. For me as a fan trophies every season aren't the be-all and end-all. That being said, if the Woodward and the United owners can only choose between winning football and attractive football, they'll choose winning football every time.

 fecking hell you live in a romantic world don't you?
After all we've been through, you'd still think it appropriate to bring in a manager (apart from Carlo) that literally has zero experience in the PL?!

Thank God you're not in charge!

You sound as stubborn as LVG himself!

I throughly enjoyed watching Chelsea last season, and Real under Mourinho. Tactically intelligent football with goals too.

He's really not the bringer of ugly football people like to suggest he is. Of course he has his rough games, but sometimes those are needed to simply win.

But look at the way he left and what he did. Do you want to see that here? And do you believe he will play the football we'd like to see?
Not pretty but our guy LVG has often left clubs in a similar manner yet some claim his laying of the foundation.

I don"t like his football but with Carlo gone and Pep looking like he'll join City, I don't see a better option.

He had one bad season, that's it, which IMO does not tarnish his whole career.
He always wanted to coach at OT and I say let's give him a shot and start kicking ass again.

Carraghar and Souness are so against Morinho taking over.

concerned scousers.

They're absolutely desperate for us to make they same mistakes Liverpool did by putting Giggs in charge.

Them opposing it should be a clear sign that it's the right thing to do.

Up until January last year, Chelsea were actually playing better football than we were and coring more goals too.

Then Harry Kane happened...

Thing is, Mourinho's football isn't 'boring'.

It can be defensive and quite negative but always with the plan of soaking up pressure and countering at pace. Quick wingers, strong strikers and clinical finishing. Very much like us towards the end of SAF's reign, perhaps with a little more defensive responsibility.

Even so, he's not like he has one tactic. Madrid won La Liga with a record points total, outscoring Barca along the way. Chelski through the first half of last season were playing some fantastic attacking football.

What he does is know how to play against teams with better attacks than him. He can set a team up to nullify another and is brilliant at exploiting weaknesses.

My issue centres entirely around him as a person / personality. His football would be a breath of fresh air compared to the last couple years.

Yup, his teams play good football. Problem is, many fans don't watch those games. A lot of people watch the bigger games and in a lot of those Mourinho gets up defensively. That would annoy me in some games, but if it works then great.

Yeah and in his early days at Chelsea with Robben, duff etc like Henry mentioned on mnf and I can't remember real playing boring football ever.

I thought he just tended to shut up shop early if his teams were winning. Pedro has not come good yet but Barcelona weren't desperate to sell him either. It's not easy coming into a toxic dressing room. Falcao was a balls up but if it worked out, he'd look a genius. Who knew he'd have been better off signing Vardy lol.
