Luke Shaw injury for England | sustained concussion and returned to Manchester (6 day rest period)

Yeah it's a clear concussion due to the sudden hit. I think he'll be ok in few days but they have to take precautions so that nothing happens to his neck or head due to the hit.

That was a very bad fall. He hit his head on the ground badly. I hope he's alright.

Feel so bad for him, just when things were on the up. Hopefully he's just knocked out and the rest a precaution.

I hate these pointless international friendlies, really wish some of our players would just pull out of these games.

Watched it in slo-mo, several times. Forearm smash to side of face. Shaw headed the ball and was watching the ball when the forearm connected.

Intentional? No. Reckless? Spanish.

Great. Hopefully he'll be ok for Watford game, if not will be the next one surely. I actually was quite relieved when I knew it was just concussion and nothing related to his knee or leg.

Hopefully we bring him back home - he doesn't need to play against Swizterland.

Glad to hear he’s come to and is seemingly ok. Probably be out for a week to 10 days as you have to be careful with head injuries. Shouldn’t really affect his start to the season hopefully.

6 days without competitive football is FA guidance.

If it's not that bad he could train and make Watford.

Don't care about Watford let's hope he's ok to play in a couple of weeks

Same - sounds counterintuitive but a head injury is better than a leg injury, or muscle issue. Hopefully he’s just got a fuzzy head and he will be back in a week.

so he's okay but suffered a concussion? That's a min two weeks out isn't it? Or isn't the concussion confirmed?

I'd say Young will be a certainty for Watford now, which is a game he should be bang up for TBF.

Glad to hear that he is awake and well. I hope that he continues to be brave and work hard. He's had a really hard time but has shown himself to be a fighter. I hope he's back soon.:)

Six days.

The player should not be allowed to return to play for at least 6 days after the injury (it often takes longer than this) and in strict accordance with the return to play guidelines (above). This will include a return to baseline of the SCAT 3, or web-based, neuro-psychological criteria. A baseline profile will be available from the pre-season assessment.

Great news. He'll miss Watford but the rule is perfectly sensible. Hopefully his bad luck is over now.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Jose gets in the dressing room to reassure him even go for the scan with him. For all the shit he gets he's a caring bloke about his players' welfare

Hoping for the best. Concussions are fecking nasty, one of the most underrated injuries in terms of stupid and lost they can make you feel afterwards.

Fecking international games! Not one ineternational break without a injury..Should just remove those useless games.
This is not a normal International break.

This is the Uefa Nations League.

Its not even about international breaks anymore. Other clubs' players play these games and don't have any problems. It's always us for some reason. It was the most predictable thing really that Shaw would get injured. Someone in the match thread even asked what minute will he play up-to before he gets injured.
