Humiliating mothers on benefit might feel fair game by him but he better not ask the average united fans whom they think is a burden on united's finances
So because a player is 'always injured', he's 'stealing a living' and 'an absolute waste of space'?He's one of the poster boys for where this club is at. Overpaid, always injured, singing about people on benefits when the club's laid off staff earning a fraction of what he gets a week.
An absolute waste of space stealing a living from the club.
If Ineos what a "cultural reboot" at the club, he needs to be one of the first out the door.
Shocking injury he suffered when he had the world at his feet. However, in 2024 he chose to put his national team before his club. Fair enough but then maybe announce you are going to focus on club football to repay the club’s loyalty until he has consistently proven fitness and form. Failure to do this speaks volumes. So because a player is 'always injured', he's 'stealing a living' and 'an absolute waste of space'?
You and others are having a dig at him miming to a stupid viral song on social media cos of the 'your mum's on benefits' line, but the crux of it is that you mainly despise him for being injured so frequently. Sure it's frustrating -clearly for him and the fans- but the sheer level of hatred and bile I find baffling.
Even the national team criticism I find overblown. It's not like Shaw unilaterally decided he would play. He was obviously scrutinised by both the England and United club doctors, both of whom approved him travelling with the squad and later playing. He also only played 177 minutes over three matches, so 29.5 mins per match on average. That's not loads and there's no evidence it contributed to his injury in pre-season.Shocking injury he suffered when he had the world at his feet. It doesn't matter if he didn't draw parallels between himself and benefits, as a multimillionaire, he still felt it was appropriate or funny to both mock and degrade a single mother. Not to mention these players are given a ton of training on how to handle themselves with the media and what they can and can't say. He was born in Kingston upon thames and raised in Surrey, a world away from anyone who would be on benefits, let alone a single mother. He was a season ticket holder at Chelsea. He has always been privileged. The guy is an utter bellend.I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he is too thick to have drawn parrelells between the 'benefits' line of the song and his own financial situation.
In his head, he probably thinks that as an athlete who is doing injury rehabilitation during the day and ordering takeaways in the evening, he is not scrounging a living in the same way as a mother on universal credit.

Fair comments mate. I wasn't aware that he was from Surrey and had a Chelsea season ticket. It does begin to paint the picture of a privileged little Tory. My only counter argument would be that he is maybe too thick and oblivious to properly comprehend what 'benefits' even are. As daft as it sounds, Premier League footballers are so out of touch with reality, especially those from a privileged background growing up, that I wouldn't rule it out as a possibility. It doesn't matter if he didn't draw parallels between himself and benefits, as a multimillionaire, he still felt it was appropriate or funny to both mock and degrade a single mother. Apparently he is with the team and so is Mount, so not far off.Whens he back?
I heard Mount was March at the earliestApparently he is with the team and so is Mount, so not far off.
He's just singing along to lyrics in a video. The song is shit and the tiktok video is tasteless, but let's not exaggerate now.It doesn't matter if he didn't draw parallels between himself and benefits, as a multimillionaire, he still felt it was appropriate or funny to both mock and degrade a single mother. I'm not sure anyone is "triggered". (Do you also use the word "butthurt" by the way?)People getting triggered by this is weird.
How far down that road do you go though? Singing along to some rapper's misogyny or racist language and broadcasting that to millions. Is that ok?He's just singing along to lyrics in a video. The song is shit and the tiktok video is tasteless, but let's not exaggerate now.
Geez it really, really isn't that big of a deal stop taking yourself so seriously. His inability to get fit on the pitch has absolutely nothing to do with miming the lyrics to a song on camera for 5 seconds.I'm not sure anyone is "triggered". (Do you also use the word "butthurt" by the way?)
It's just an absolutely pathetic, tone deaf, lack of intelligence thing to do when you're paid millions and don't really earn most of them.
christ. He's just singing along to lyrics in a video. The song is shit and the tiktok video is tasteless, but let's not exaggerate now.
Granted, most men look good in a suit, but Luke looked fit and in good shape in the pics from the funeral today. That’s something, I suppose.
Luke Shaw is on the caf!People are making a mountain out of this lip sync thing. He's possibly my favourite United player and would suit that LCB role perfectly but his fitness just can't be relied upon. He should go but this noise about him slagging off mums on benefits is nothing really, I doubt he wrote the song or came up with the idea for the video.
Ya got me.Luke Shaw is on the caf!
It's a shit song and a bit stupid from him to do it but the levels of scrutiny and overreaction from United fans in response have been equally stupid.People are making a mountain out of this lip sync thing. It shouldn't come as a surprise mind, it's standard discourse when it comes to Shaw. The obsession with his weight on here and across social media over the years has been completely bizarre.
Or maybe let's learn not to pile on our own players at every opportunity...Nah it needs calling out, lets keep the same energy because we know if Rashford did a lip sync to a song mocking single mothers, it would be national front page news everywhere and everyone would be foaming at the mouth calling him every name under the sun
Whens he back?
Whens he back?
That's what surprised me most, he's nearly 30 isn't he - isn't he a bit old for that? I get these guys live in a bubble and probably don't even think about how such things can be perceived but why even risk it, like what does he gain from that?I don’t care about TikTok too much, it speaks to me to show a persons maturity or not if they use it. No surprise footballers are all a bit childish.
It’s a bit more crass of him to be choosing to mime a song that has him doing lyrics about your mum being on benefits whilst he earns tens of thousands a week. Not a good look, Luke.
He would be fine as Licha's understudy as left of the back three, for the fifteen or so games he's fit a season. He won’t suit Amorim style in my opinion. Too slow since the injury. Still a very good player though.
If you see that as unfair criticism (the Rashford example), then why would you lay into Shaw?Nah it needs calling out, lets keep the same energy because we know if Rashford did a lip sync to a song mocking single mothers, it would be national front page news everywhere and everyone would be foaming at the mouth calling him every name under the sun
