I didnt think he was bad tonight..
Bring back Phil Jones taking cornersPretty much offers nothing going forward. And him taking corners is just pure banter, no idea who thought it's a good idea.
I can just see him dominating in the air against Wood and Barnes.Would be an amazing Left CB or a left side defender in a back 3.
Just doesn't have killer instinct for a LB at a team like United.
He's OK. Nothing more, nothing less. Is OK enough for United? That's what you have to ask yourselves.
Absolutely baffling how people can point negatively towards Shaw tonight. He had a practically spotless first half, easily our best player. More underwhelming second half, but the tactic was clearly to give it to Young for a cross (for some reason). Still, in no way was he one to criticize.

I don't think any United fan has ever thought he was world class, he showed promise which gave people a lot of hope but I've never seen anyone claim he was world class. He is(was?) so hyped up that half of the fan base thought he was world class. He has never been anything more than a premier league standard left back. He's good enough to be in the squad, shouldnt be good enough for the first 11.
Actually Phil Jones put in some great crosses last night from open play, a few better than Luke's.Bring back Phil Jones taking corners

It is difficult to dig into all previous threads and posts, but loads of fans here and other forums have claimed him to be world class, has world class potential, on path to be world class.I don't think any United fan has ever thought he was world class, he showed promise which gave people a lot of hope but I've never seen anyone claim he was world class.
Can he do all that??I like Shaw, but I think he can do more in attack. To often he provides the overlap but rather than take a man on, get to the byline and cross, or cut inside and pull defenders too him creating space for our central attackers, he just seems to play short, ineffective passes back or inside. It's like he literally has a switch in his head that says 'Don't go beyond this point'. I can only assume that's coached in him but I think he can and should do more.
Either that or you weren't paying attentionDid not notice him even once. Which about sums him up really. He isn’t shit and he isn’t that good. We should be aiming higher.
Or people can have different opinionsEither that or you weren't paying attention
