I think people in general, myself included, are annoyed by the injuries and that it's always the same suspects. Do I feel sorry for Shaw? Yes. But I also want us to sign a left-back now, since we can't wait on him anymore. It's a tough business they are in and there's no time for sentimentality. Injuries have hampered our chances for titles in the past and this time around it's hurting our chances to get into the CL.
Being annoyed is a natural reaction and I am too but when some people convince themselves of things that they cannot be sure of, this is a problem. Shaw received some fecked up criticism without even waiting to see what was wrong with him.

You didn't know the intention, you don't look at reports of injuries(whatever that means), or many tweets, your comment of "its telling" was just you saying Rooney has a dissapointed face with no other inference.

Time to fess up me thinks
. You bought into the idea Rooney was dissapointed with Shaw's reaction. Nothing else makes sense.

You're not the only one to jump on the fake injury bandwagon then retreat when proven wrong. Nobody else is rushing forward to say they were out of order.
It is like I said earlier, it is a fecking witch hunt. You are deliberately choosing not to believe the explanation I have given and trying to pin this faking injury rubbish onto me. For the last time: it isn't what I said nor is it what I thought. If you don't believe me, then tough. I have nothing to confess or apologise for.

It makes absolutely zero sense to sell Luke Shaw when he is young and developing. There is nothing wrong with him playing as a back-up option for a year or two to let him mature as a player and person. Why are so many fans insistent on a 21-year old playing every week. If he doesnt want to stay with us then sell him, if he becomes injury prone then sell him.

We will know in a year or two if he has what it takes to play for us; if not then he can be sold for a good chunk since he is young and english. He has a clause in his contract that extends for 1-year; why not use that clause and give him 1 more season to prove himself.

The problem with injury prone snow flakes is they will break when they are needed the most. We're better off selling him before anyone notice that he's useless. That's exactly what Bayern did with Bastian and Hargreaves

I love the amateur Freud's in here, trying to imprint their own narrative onto a grimace by a football player.

Furiously back-pedalling now.

Nobody finds it weird he needs to consult an external specialist to evaluate his injury?

No, its pretty normal after ligament damage is seen in a scan
I understand, it's just that nobody talked about it concerning Rojo. Ibrahimović is a different matter, he got to choose his own specialist.

He's finished here. In 3 seasons in all comps he's made a grand total of 47 appearances for us.

In the same time frame, Daley Blind has made 120, and Herrera 116.

Pogba has made 47 alone this season.

We won't renew his contract. Shaw is injury prone, and throughout his United career has never forced his way into the team for any length of time.

If he's out for the start of next season then Mourinho will most probably buy a LB this summer, leaving Shaw's future looking bleak.

Where did Zlatan get his surgery done? I'm sure it with a specialist.
Did he chose his own? I dunno maybe.
There is more coverage of whats happening with Shaw than with Rojo

Is there any footage of the incident as him sittin on his arsh was the first thing i seen when i tuned in. He didnt look in serious pain and having had a few bad ankle injurys myself id be surprised if he was looking at any more than 6-8 weeks. Coutinho had a far worse lookin one earlier in the season and wasn't out for that awful long

His first season with us was ruined by niggling injuries too. I would say there is room for concern about his future here.
Giggs spent his first few years with recurring niggling hamstring injuries. If the caf was around then, would they have been having similar threads I wonder? I wouldn't be surprised to be honest.

It is crazy how some were too quick to judge him, I remember a guy even talking about a "fake limp" :wenger:

All this fake injury talk is mental. Just like the discussion if he is too fat and the arm-chair psychologists analyzing his mentality. That said his history of injuries is extremely worrying and the club has to take this into account for the next season.

He must feel horrible tbh, to go through injuries, rehab, training, the whole thing over and over again. It can be tough and like you said we have arm-chair shrinks who think they know it all...

It might actually give him a little reprieve as we can't sell him this summer now. It's not looking good for him but I won't give up hope just yet.

I just hope he gets over the injury problems eventually and has a good crack at playing at a high level, whether it's here or somewhere else, because he's got the talent. Good luck with the recovery Luke!

Does anybody know how long it will take to recover from ligament damage? The Guardian headline is that he will miss the start of the season, but I wonder if they are just taking a wild guess and leading with such headline to generate more views.

I tore one in my ankle when I was young - doctor said no sports or even running for 2/3 months (can't remember which one it was)

Very unfair to hunt down users who posted before the reports were in. People like you are unbelievable.

Nothing was mentioned about hunting them down though. People were very harsh on Shaw for going off injured and before we had the slightest clue what might be the problem.

I'm not "hunting down". The user asked if anyone said Shaw faked the injury and you were right in there making a dig at Shaw before getting the facts. I'd say you're the one who is unbelievable but to be honest I expect this shithousery from you.

Genuine question, but did anyone actually say he faked an injury? There was a few suggesting he was unreliable etc. but I didn't come across anyone saying he was pretending to be injured not to play

I said almost. So I didn't say I believe he's faking it. I've been attacked on here lately for my opinions so from now on I will be more careful with how I will present them.

Ah ye, cheers. Seems to be a bad injury, don't know if he'll still be here next season, doesn't seem to be very reliable.

I going to be brutally honest I never wanted Shaw at United. I thought the price was going to be a lot of pressure for him and I never thought he was worth the hype.

He looks sound defensively but I expected him to be better in the final third, more influential. All I see is a few decent dribbles from deep.

I want him to be a success now he's here. However, in the time he has been I don't really see him convincing Mourinho he's good enough. At the time I was hoping we'd bid for Ricardo Rodriguez (who is joining AC Milan for €15M).

I'm curious do you guys think he'll make it! Will be be a regular starter next season or do you see him leaving or getting replaced even. I'm not convinced he'll make it, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

Any update? We are reportedly willing to throw 45m on Mendy when we have Shaw. I don't know what's the deal with Jose. The kid had an excellent first season with us.

Bit of a stretch as he missed majority of that season through injuries.

We don't need to replace Shaw, Jose needs to work out how to get the best out of him. Too many other priorities, we don't want to be spending £40m on a full back. If Shaw doesn't up his game he can go the season after next, but I do hope he fulfills his promise. Him, Darmian and Blind is enough for next year.
