Lukaku - transfer speculation | Gone

Nah, I don't buy that. He's been working at the club for years and was a United fan. Lukaku probably doesn't though.
In my opinion he just cares about making money for the Glazers. I didn't know he was a United fan. Thanks for letting me know. Where did you hear this please? :)

By the looks of it he's not been very good for Juve for a while either?
Devastating in the second half of his first season after a slow start. Pretty much injured most of last season...

He's one of those players who aren't anything special(too inconsistent) when starting but becomes absolutely unplayable if used off the bench in the last 30 minutes of games

If he goes, getting in a reliable goalscorer becomes top priority - we do not have one at the club.

Looks like club is ready to gamble with Rashford, Martial and Greenwood. And for some reason i feel that could be good idea. There is a lot of potential in this trio.

Mad how we have 3 in the top the 5, of whom 2 definitely do not deserve to be there in my opinion.
Thing is one of the three (Sanchez) has been a flop, and the other two want to leave.
Personally I think we get rid of them all....there s no use keeping someone who has his heart some where else (Pogba Lukaku) or he s crocked (Sanchez)

Lets not rewrite history, all those people who were against Lukaku pretty much wanted Morata back then, because he was a better footballer and would add more to our attack.
People were also concerned that Morata is a supersub and had never been trusted to lead the line at any club he played for.

The Glazers have spent as much as anyone in the last few years but our wanking fan base constantly moan and moan about it. Stop rewriting history

They have a clown of a man in charge wasting clubs money left right and centre who has made a mockery of this club in world football.

It's not the amount that we have spent that's concerning. What's concerning that it has been wasted. For the amount of money spent we should have been in a better position than we are in now. That's why we should have got the DoF in a lot earlier. Regardless of how much we have wasted in the past, in my opinion we should be spending a decent amount of money now so that we don't fall further behind the top sides.

Unless its like 60m plus Costa, than no thanks, 29 year old Brazilian, who has looked over weight on more than occasion, who will sign a big contract and have not any resell value, pass.

Typical Lukaku. Just stands there, making himself look big instead of making a run and actually fancying the physical duels.

Can’t blame him when manager prefers playing Rashford every game, who realistically would probably not be starting striker for say West Ham (and who’s best position is yet still to be proven as CF).

We’re in trouble goals wise if we don’t bring another striker in, and I don’t think we will

Some of the names we are linked with we are better sticking with Lukaku or cashing in on him and relying on Martial/Rashford as our strikers. People just want a new striker for the sake of it even if they are a downgrade on what we currently have.

I would play Martial through the middle, I think he prefers it and he looks a more complete player. His off the ball movement is non-existent when playing on the wing as he likes the ball to feet so he can beat his man. When playing through the middle, he is happy to run the channels, and make movements in behind as he knows there may be a goal at the end of it. With Pogba's vision and creativity it can be a massive threat, we seen it last year with Rashford as well who is not as natural infront of goal as Martial. If Martial manages to drag a CB out wide 1 v 1, I would back him a lot of the time to beat him.

If that's the way to go then every player will be moaning in the media. It's not like Lukaku was on bench all the time. He started plenty of games.

Cl - Started 2/4 games and came on as a sub in other 2 games

PL - started 10/21 games, came on as a sub in 6 games. He missed 2 games because of injury and 2 games because of compassionate leave.

Fa Cup - Started 3/4 games. Missed the wolves games as he injured his foot against Arsenal.

It's just that he isn't first name on the team sheet like it was under Jose.

There are so many priorities at the club in terms of bringing people in. We don't really know where to start.

I can't think of a single proven goalscorer that we would target to be honest.

Inter are expected to come back with another bid this week. Have they sold any players then.
I do think this one will go to the wire and we are in for a shaky last day transfer push for players.

Honestly the priority for a striker is pretty low down for me. It's CM = CB > RW > ST. Get the rest of the team functioning, solid and built up to be able to play attacking football without conceding shit loads of goals. Plus there's very little guaranteed proven goalscorers out there who'd want to go to a Europa League club anyway.

Lukaku is not included in the travelling squad for tomorrow's game. Hopefully this is sorted quickly

Yeah, just came here to put this. I'm not sure we'll actually replace him with a ST though.

Going by what Ole said, what BBC reported and how we played in preseason we won't be signing pure 9s. If we sign replacement, it will be someone who is comfortable playing multiple positions.

Yeah, which really does a number on me for who we've been linked to. I reckon we might see quite a random player coming in.

I don't think we will sign a replacement at all. We have more urgent positions to work on. Our squad is bloated as it is, getting rid of players not in the manager's plans is imperative.

Yeah, we have just 10 more days, wonder how everything will be addressed within that time.

Also one of the reason why I thought Pepe would be good signing, apparently he played as CF too. So he would have suited the style of play and obvious upgrade for the first team.

I disagree, you cant just take his 15 goals in all comps and not replace it. He may fund the Maguire move, for sure, but we need more options than Chong, Gomes, Greenwood and James to pick up the slack and then some.

Yeah, the Pepe link actually made a lot of sense for me as well. It will be a shame if we don't get anyone similar and does well at Arsenal.
