Lukaku - transfer speculation | Gone

That's obvious though isn't it and how could it be an unpopular opinion? We're not going to let an £80m player leave and not replace him and rely on a 17 year old.

We all know we'll miss 12 goals, but I'd also expect our next striker to score more than 12 and do better than what Lukaku has done for us.

Personally, I also think he'll bang them in Seria A as the league is suited to his style. Win for all in my opinion if we replace him properly

Ah, my friend - let the Glazers learn you in the ways of how to run a football club...

(or should that be ruin...?)

Yea, I do agree with you on this. However, there's just something in my gut (all those instagram posts by that Dave guy and all the tapping up Marcus & Jesse were doing over International duty) saying it could be a small possibility. With Dortmund purchasing Hazard, Brandt and linked with Malcom, I'm just hoping we good make some progress this year.

But if it is to be a forward, we were linked quite heavily with Lyon's Dembele.
Something might be up if they sign Malcom as he's a right sided attacker, but could just be the case that they're going to get a possible replacement for Sancho a year in advance for him to bed in without needing to start week in, week out.

What a lord of shit. He’s not and never was an £80m footballer. It doesn’t take much to replace him. Actually let’s take a life time ban bet, seeing as you’re so convinced that Lukaku can’t be replaced by Greenwood. If Greenwood matches or betters Lukaku’s stats from last season, you take a lifetime ban and if he’s worse, I’ll take one?

The Glazers have spent as much as anyone in the last few years but our wanking fan base constantly moan and moan about it. Stop rewriting history.

Lukaku has been pretty much exactly what most of those against his transfer in the first place thought he would be. Decent numbers but never close to a good enough footballer for what Utd need. Lukaku shows you have to look beyond goal/assist stats when judging a player, especially a striker.

I worry that we are about to repeat the mistake with Maguire, a player with some obvious limitations that we treating as the only option.

True. Either way, will be interesting to see what we do, when Rom leaves?!

I honestly think if they got the right manager in, they wouldn't be that bad (and a director of football). They've spent enough money, they've just done the wrong thing at the wrong time with managers and Woodward is a fecktard of a buyer of players.

So basically, yes they are shite owners but if they actually got the right people in, would be a different matter. They are not shy to splash the cash these last few years

Wow...

Just, wow.

"I think it'll rain tonight"

"Whaatt!? I HATE YOU - *pulls out gun* - If it doesn't rain, right, you have to shoot yourself and commit suicide... and if it does rain, I'll kill myself..."

"Erm..."

I was hoping he would have bullied a lot of smaller teams and gave us some necessary goals when he signed.

As for being a big target man type, he is pretty shit at holding and heading up front. Blind schooled him almost every time they met back in LVG's era.

But he never was a target man type. He's a bigger version of Chicharito.

Not as bad as how people saying he is. He is not a top SK, not good enough for a title-winning team, but we are fighting for top 4, so it is ok. The thing is he is not the kind of SK Ole prefer. So thanks and goodbye.

The best thing about this is that it looks like we planted some bullshit link to another club to force through the deal, which other clubs constantly use us for.

ffs grow up

Be delighted if we sell him.

The only thing that would make me happier is Sanchez off the wage book.

Rumours of Costa in deal. Wouldn't mind that at all. Lukakus going anyway, let's see what happens.

Costa is too old, it's not a good idea to pursue players older than 25-26. And we already have one former Shakhter Donetsk player who doesn't deliver.

Disrespectful cnut. I’ve always really liked Lukaku, but he can feck right off now.

I wouldn't mine getting Douglas Costa in a deal that takes Lukaku to Juve. Costa would improve our RW instantly.

Lets not rewrite history, all those people who were against Lukaku pretty much wanted Morata back then, because he was a better footballer and would add more to our attack.

Really hope the Lukaku money doesn't go on just Maguire and we get no CM,however reports suggest that might just be the case.

If we want to sign a couple of midfielders then in the board's eyes we have to sell Pogba first.

If we buy Maguire, I guarantee that one or 2 of the existing first team CB will move. That will free up some money/salary for us to move for a Midfielder. If we also lose Pogba. This becomes a certainty of course.

But of course, we don’t need more than 5 CBs for a season, so Maguire - Lindelof - Smalling - Tuanzebe - [name]. If Jones and Rojo are sold, the above four may play, and Bailly as fifth may rehabilitate from injury in the interim

Douglas Costa, 4 goals last year in the league for Juventus. 1 the season before. He's less prolific than Jessie.

There's a reason they want to get rid of him.

Did you see him play against us last year? He's been a consistent performer for Juve. He would be part of a deal that would make sense. He would be experienced In games when we need it, the balance with youth would be better.
We got a RB who's the future, but this guy for a season or 3 would take some pressure off 2 young Right sided players we have .

I have to say I don’t particularly rate him - but given we don’t actually have a right winger at all at the club, clearly he would be able to do a job for us - and could be a good signing. Surely we are going to sign a right winger at some point, rather that have som many who are better on the left?

I think it’s all somewhat nugatory, as I really don’t think Juventus have any interest at all in Lukuku.

Did you see Dybala though? He performed far better and would be the one I would want!

He'll still be a good player in a team which sits deep and plays on the counter, giving him space to run in behind.

But top teams can't really play that way. They're expected to dominate possession and it's the other teams that are sitting back against them.

What did he do against us?

Edit didn't play at all over two games

Exactly.

No players in the deal, straight cash and reinvest it, ideally.

Most likely, on Maguire. We clearly don't have the money to buy him without selling Lukaku. Otherwise that deal would have been done a long time ago.
