Apparently our main priority is a centre forward, which makes sense. These are the three we seem to be linked with most, and all three have their pros and cons. If we're only to sign one, which I think is a safe bet, who would you prefer we signed?
Lukaku
Pros: Most productive striker in the league. Powerhouse CF in the Jose mould.
Cons: Tendency to go missing in the big games (I'm not worried about this one, as I think being the focal point for us is vastly different to leading the line for Everton). Price? £100m. Not my money, but that's a lot of money all the same.
Mbappe
Pros: Best young player in world football (arguably). Potentially the next big thing, as well as the most productive forward in world football in 16/17.
Cons: It's one season, nothing to say he'll replicate the same form next season. Age: this works against him, because whilst he can improve massively on already outstanding performances, he can also drop off as young players are usually inconsistent. And linked to both is price. He'll cost at least 100m, but probably closer to 120m. That's a lot of money when you take into account his potential for inconsistency in years to come before he finally settles.
Belotti
I don't know enough about him to be honest, but from what I've seen he reminds me of Inzaghi and that's probably the exact type of player we need. A fox in the box who can finish the myriad chances we create in order to properly kill off games. The price might be the only difficulty here with 80m being touted in the press.
What say the Caf?
