Luis Suarez to Liverpool?

you're assuming we won't be strengthening in the summer regardless.

Players like Torres are the ones that make a difference between clubs and the hardest to find. You don't sell them unless you absolutely have to.

I'd much rather improve a few positions and keep Torres than sell him and spend that money on a host of new players.

Who says improving a few positions in the summer with Torres still there, is going to be enough to be competative? And with Torres funds you could no doubt improve them a lot further.

To add to that Torres hasnt been all that this season. We dont know for sure that in his remaining time at Liverpool (and its going to be limited no matter what) that he'll get back to the level he once had. Suarez can replace his current level and perhaps do better than it

Suarez is no Bebe or Obertan but he is a great talent. I reckon he'll do well with Liverpool.

B9, stop kidding yourself. Torres is as good as gone. The club will have known his intentions for a while.

The best you can hope for is keep him until the summer and miraculously finish top four.

Even that mightn't be enough.

I basically wouldn't be the least thrilled if United are the ones signing him

He's a decent player but wouldn't exactly be one who will take a football team to the next level

Surely signing a bunch of players adds even more uncertainty to the equation than signing a few.

Depends how much you need. On this season's showings you need a lot. Especially with so many other teams improving all the time

'this season's showings' ignores a very important part of the equation. Namely that a major factor of it is thankfully out the door.

We actually won an away game last week. Can you believe it? away! 0-3 too.

Rafa, he was out of the door quite some time ago.

agree there. And Hernandez is a sub for us.

And could you imagine Chelsea or Arsenal fans being happy that they'd spent £23 million on Hernandez?

Dont get me wrong I think an awful lot of him, I think he'll go really far and I'm always excited when he's given an oppertunity.

But that is a lot of money and despite his fantastic performances and goals this season it would be too much at this point. And this is a player who is better than Suarez

Well It has not stop the deluded dippers from wanking over his signing.

It really should be setting off alarm bells when you're taking scholesy's opinion as fact.

Really, you should be starting posts like this with 'despite scholesy sharing this opinion, there are actually very good reasons for why... etc'.

Are you saying Suarez is great?

Just to throw this in there. He's not as good as Hernandez

Who was it that claimed Bellion would be better than Henry?

Personally I think Suarez will struggle. There have been some great buys from the dutch league down the years, Van Nistelrooy, Overmars, Van Persie, Stam etc. I think Suarez however may be more of a Kezman.

If Liverpool are losing Torres they'll need another striker because Suarez can't play the lone role in the same manner.

i think he'll score goals IF played properly and with the right players alongside him. I'm not convinced the current players are that.

Secondly talk about overpaying for a player! Their first bid was a lot closer to the truth than what they paid.

There could be something in the Torres story, his body language all season has suggested he's not happy

Yes and thus not the factor in question for this season's showing.

Actually he's still a big factor. You'll find when a whole squad/team's level drops so much there are few examples of the majority of players getting back to their best. What usually happens is there are lots of comings and goings and that freshens things up and starts to push the team forward. Benitez started the downward trend and many of the players who's level dropped are not going to be the same again

You'd be unhappy too when the sahara desert separated you from your nearest team player. Hodgson didn't have a clue how to get the best out of him.

The same kind who claimed Le Tallec would be better than Ronaldo?

Yes he was. He left and let the blame fall on the owners and Hodgson. The amount of their money Rafa spunked on shit is unbelievable. I feel genuinely sorry for them, no wonder they couldn't afford to build a new stadium. Hodgson just took the aftershock of Rafa and the owners, no one was behind from the terraces to the players, so the team refused to play for him. You now have new owners who are doing exactly the same as the previous ones (spending money on players) but because Kenny came in everything is now fine.

No the team just refused to play for Hodgson.

Torres wasn't interested at Old Trafford. King Kenny's first game in charge.
