Luis Suárez

If Barcelona really pay £60m plus Sanchez they are complete idiots, but I don't believe that at all. They could get £30m for Sanchez.

Aye, that'll never happen, 'Pool fans have been deluding themselves there which is no surprise.

They've overestimated the amount they'll get for Suarez, as well how attractive they are as a club to someone like Sanchez.

You'd better make the most of your Champions League adventure this season I think.

title hunt was always going to be much harder this year, but without Suarez it'll surely now be impossible.

Noone will be taken by surprise by Pool this year, everyone will be more cautious against them.

Not at all worried by the likes of Lallana and Lambert, but Sanchez would be a quality signing.

I know Rodgers has said Liverpool can attract top class players but so far the signings haven't screamed top class, Lallana, Lambert and Can, with a bid for Lovren having been rejected hardly says great signings to me.

Nor do ours, to be fair.

when deciding what club to join, one that's selling it's massively stand out player doesn't scream join does it?

No, it doesn't but still after all this talk from Brendan if I were a Liverpool fan I'd be quite underwhelmed really.

Sanchez could take weeks to make up his mind, especially if Juventus get involved which could well be his preferred choice, he is a top, top quality player in his own right & I don't blame not been pushed into going to a club that he most likely just doesn't fancy.

Don't see him any further north than London when it finally does get done, if this holds up the Suarez deal then all the better.

There's only a handful of strikers really good enough to cover for Suarez's goals: Zlatan, Falcao, van Persie, Cavani (at least we'd stop getting linked with him then) and Ronaldo and Messi obviously but realistically I think the only available player there is Cavani.

I won't miss his goals for them, or his behavior, but the league is going to be a more boring place without him and David Luiz.

Is @PickledRed still upset that we are discussing Suarez shitting all over the club that supported him?

It has been quite a sliding scale of support hasn't it.

Evra racism row? That was no evidence, Evra making it up, corrupt FA.
Ivanovic biting? Can't condone it, but made sure of bringing up Defoe and every past United player's sins
This bite? Even the most one eyed Pool fan was stumped this time

Even taking into account his numerous indiscretions, I think Suarez has more than paid his way during his time at Liverpool. We were way off the top 4 when he first arrived, yet we're now looking forward to CL football for the first time in 5 years thanks to him. & to top it all, we're going to receive 3 times more than we paid for him as a result.

I'd hardly call that 'shitting all over us'.

Who are Liverpool going to replace him with though? Only Falcao, Van Persie, Ibrahimovic, Lewandowski and (maybe a few others I can't think of) are near his level and I can't see any of them heading to Anfield.

They're linked with Origi, but he's 19 and isn't going to deliver them the premier league straight away, which I think is what Liverpool fans were kinda expecting if they had kept Suarez. Going into the season with Sturridge, Lambert and Borini is absolute suicide for a team with title ambitions, that's a mid-table strikeforce. Maybe the rest of the team will help with goals? I have no idea....

Cavani may be an option.

I wouldn't be surprised if they went for Bony. Settled in the league after a season with Swansea, has a lot of potential.

He's different to Suarez but I don't think there's any striker with the all round game Suarez has, so there's no direct replacement.

I'd call trying to force his way out of your club after you gave up all self respect in defending him, shitting all over you. Unfair?

Can't see Mourinho sanctioning that. He was happy to sell us Mata as he no longer viewed us as competitors. He wouldn't even sell Bertrand to Liverpool in January.

I don't get the impression Mourinho cares; nor does he seem to rate Lukaku. Plus, he's connected with Brenton.

Yep, I guess Cavani is an option, but he will cost them around £50million surely? I doubt they will fork that out. Bony and Lukaku are great as well, very efficient strikers, not sure if they will deliver the title though.

I can't answer for Liverpool fans but that whole situation worked out very well for them.

If they'd sold him last Summer, they'd have got £40m and no Champions League to attract players so they'd be getting lower class of player.

Suarez played his heart out for them all season and left the pitch in tears after the Palace game.

Now they'll have what £70m and can attract Champions League level players. I think that's a good result even to the most deluded of Liverpool fans.

They don't have a hope of winning the league, it was pretty piss poor last season and without Suarez they'll have no chance. The likes of Sanchez and Cavani aren't going to go to Liverpool. I don't think they can afford him anyway, they've already started throwing their money away.

Pretty much spot on. We'd prefer to keep him, but this has not worked out that badly.

Cavani is more of a work horse than Suarez, very good player all the same. I'd imagine he's on huge money the way French taxes work, can't imagine them shelling out that much. Hopefully they go for Jay Rodriguez, Lovren, Clyne and Schneiderlin, reunite the Southampton team and finish 8th. ;)

Money is all well and good but Suarez is really central to their system and style of play. It's going to be a big loss and thankfully it means that Liverpool won't be making a step up from last season's form to this one. Even if they get 100 million I'm quite happy that they are losing him.

Also it's great for lols after the resident scouse were adamant that he would be staying. Interesting to see the change in tune in here from them. Suddenly it isn't a "the worst thing" that he's leaving.

Yes I agree they are not winning the league, well not any more anyway (With Suarez though, I would've given them a great chance) And yes, I don't think either Sanchez or Cavani will go their. I was just reiterating that a lot of Liverpool fans would have expected the league titles if they have kept Suarez.

Mate, the thing is.. I actually wouldn't put it past them doing that. Wdf is Brednan Rodgers actually doing? Lambert, Lallana and now Lovren? Rodgers has proven a very good manager this season no doubt, but buying Southampton FC might back fire on him.
