At half time I was looking forward to Nani getting a real chance. Fool's hope.

If we ever want to be creative ever again, he needs to play. I don't know what some people are expecting from him. Our problem today certainly hasn't been our wingers.

Definitely, Januzaj and Nani were fine, obv Nani isn't at his best yet but he wasn't the issue, central midfield as always was and has been the issue.

To take him off and put Zaha on was criminal. Absolutely ridiculous.

Bringing on Zaha was unfair on both of them, Nani was always more likely to create something and to expect Zaha to salvage a match when Moyes hasn't given him a look in all season was desperation.

Shouldn't have been taken off today, he wasn't great but he was still a threat and Zaha doesn't look ready right now.

Thought he did well until he came off. Zaha did feck all afterwards. Didnt deserve to come off imo

Sometimes it feels like the changes are because Moyes thinks he has to be seen to do something rather than them actually seeming a good choice. I thought ando added some energy to the midfield, him for clev, and leaving Nani on for longer imo would have been a better move.

Had a couple of nice dribbles with some poor passes. Was dissappointed we didnt try him on the right either at the start or after the break. Still think Januzaj is the better option on the left

Still frustrates me immensely, wasn't awful today but still don't get it.

 btw who changed my membership status hahaha!

Januzaj is the better option anywhere on the pitch to be fair.

Than any of our wingers, of course. But if Januzaj can play well on the left as he's shown, then its sensible to put Nani on the right where he's shown some consistant good performances for a period in the past. On the left he hasnt done that.

I don't think he was as bad as being made out to be. He was average, but no worse then half the team out there.

The amount of times are wingers are receiving the ball on the front foot is alarming.

RvP (a couple of great balls/deliveries aside), Chich, Nani, Jones, Evra were all as bad, some worse.

He wasn't great at all today. Hasn't been for a while. Inconsistent these days. I'd sell and get in some proper wingers.

Give the ball to Nani. Then just stand there, watch him, expect him to produce something on his own, then moan when he doesn't.

That was literally our tactics today. It was beyond crap.

Not sure what he's supposed to do with no movement or options off the ball.

It's identical when Valencia plays. Only that Valencia gets bollocked for not producing and Nani doesn't. The sooner we acknowledge that, the better.

And how exactly are people expecting him to perform? Just after he was involved in our probably two biggest chances in the game, when he turned 3 Newcastle players and released Rafael on the right, and that shot off the post after his cross from corner which he earned, and Moyes decides do sub him off event hough at the time he was probably our best forward player.

We shouldn't be looking at the past I hear.

Valencia gets criticized because that's all he has done for about 18 months now!!

If we have to play a shite winger in the side I'd rather Nani play

I only think he had one poor mistake which was that pass deep in our half that went straight to them. Other then that there were the few odd decisions but mostly they worked out for him and stem from a lack of real sharpness I'd say. The problem was so clearly not the wide players. Swap in two proper midfielders and the rest of the team is fine. Newcastle set up very disciplined so the passing was going to be more important than ever and jones and clev are probably the worst two midfielders we have for incisive passes. There's only so much nani/januzaj, any of the wingers in fairness, can be expected to do when they're rarely picking the ball up in dangerous areas/situations.

I hope Moyes sticks with them going forward, let them build some momentum/sharpness.

Part of the whole disjointed performance by the team. Hardly can blame him alone but our wingers seem to always be isolated. We just have no fluidity or clue on how to attack and break down a defence.

He won't. It's nailed on unfortunately.

Agree with the rest of your post. Today we missed Rooney and Carrick which is why I can only remember one occasion in the entire game where he was one v one with his full back.

Moyes fecked up by subbing him off, he was our most attacker in the second half and he took him off for a player that had barely played for us so far.

Tomuś, leave it.

Comparing Nani's performance today to Valencia's average/poor performances should not be condoned. He was one of our best players today, which doesn't say a lot. However, it says a lot about him when he gives Moyes an option to move him around the field, in central positions. We can't do that with Valencia. More importantly, his delivery today was very good. We don't get that with Valencia. To me, at the moment, Moyes is playing it too safe and doesn't know how to manage a more technical - and flexible - player in Nani.

Totally agree.

Spot on. Nani's been dreadful this game, Januzaj produced 10 times more than Nani did and didn't need off the ball movement for that. We would've been showing the doors the like of Young and Valencia for such performance. He gave absolutely no arguments to Moyes to play him more often than Valencia.

Conclusion is one sadly, we're fecked with our wingers.

Nani produced the chance Clev had in the first half, he put in a very good corner which led to Evra's header. He was neat and tidy with his passing. He was miles better than Valencia in his couple of outings. Still nothing special but a decent performance.

He'll get dropped for the next match, not play for while and then come back in and show a few glimpses of what he can do, along with some poor touches etc. before getting dropped again. And some people moan that he is too inconsistent.
