Easily our best player, but did get lost in the shuffle for a while when Adnan came on and did nothing on the left so was moved to the right.

It doesn't help that you barely touch the ball for 20 minutes though.

Criticizeing player who has most touches out of our all offensive players today for lack of involvemant, seems fair.

Best player on the pitch today. Didn't deserve to be on the losing side.

No, you're just being pedantic.
Pedantic in what? Reviewing his performance as a whole and not only by general impression or by suggesting that switching wings is not enough to excuse him from being invisible? Especially when the left wing is when he's had more games for us than on the right.

Nothing to say about him, he was the most dangerous player out there, he kept trying again and again. Hopefully this performance will help him cement a place in the starting eleven for good.

Because Valencia cant play there apparently, not because he wants to or because Nani is best there.

He's always had his best runs in the side on the right hand side

Getting better with games, who'd have thought it? We had an awful day but he was our bright spark all game. That's the kind of wing play we need in our side if we want to break down stubborn defences. Why anyone thought letting him go would be a good idea is beyond me.

The fact that we want him to play on either wing means he's good there anyway.

Getting better, and showed what we have been missing. A pity that Hernandez wasn't at the top of his game. He should have had at least one assist.

He should stay away from corners though.

Think you're on your own here. Invisible? My word.

Oh me poor, I'll have to manage somehow I guess. Would be nice if you could read as well.
EDIT: or see, actually. Because if you managed to comprehend the invisible part was about his stint on the left (20 mins) and think it's untrue then it's another matter.

I know what it was about, it's entirely untrue.

Should be an automatic selection on the right wing (or left). No more Valencia and Young over Nani. People also underestimate his defensive abilities too. He has been working hard for the team ever since 2 seasons ago.

The only player that looked dangerous going forward. He is by far the best winger at the club. Only positive for me today.

606 earlier seemed to be lumping him with Anderson and Buttner as to why we lost today, and asking why he was in the team.

Amazing.

Didn't The Caf explode when he played in the middle vs. Wigan in 2011? We won 4-0, I think.

I must have watched a different game! Whilst he wasn't our worst player I certainly didn't feel he was the shining light some of you lot seem to be thinking.

Much of the team looked incredibly pedestrian, and felt there was minimal inventive play. A lot of horizontal passing with januzaj offering more directness than Nani for sure

He put in two perfect crosses for Hernández, played Jones into great areas over and over again, beat players effortlessly throughout the game and went on that brilliant run towards the end of the game. Not sensational or anything, but it was better than anything we've seen from our wingers in ages IMO.

He did exactly what you want a winger to do. That's a pretty bloody good start, from where we started.

Not to mention that he seemed to warm to the task as things got tougher. Probably the only one who did.

His other crosses were very good too, except for one fluffed one I can remember and every single corner which he really shouldnt be taking

Adnan on the other hand played more passes to the opposition in 45 minutes than any of our other players in the match. Young player and all that, but when directly comparing him (and somehow, favourably) to a first team winger you expect better than 63% accuracy from 16 passes. Adnan still had good his moments with runs but Nani was by far our best player

Best player on the pitch by some distance. Young has put in 1 accurate cross out of 12 attempts in the league so far when I can think of at least 3 from Nani today. You can't accuse him of being passive. He tries hard to affect the game and doesn't just wait for someone else to do something. Less sloppy than his previous games where he understandably looked a bit rusty. Staked a claim for that RW spot now. Had Rafael been behind him we would have been even more threatening on the right.

Agreed. I think today's performance is the best performance out of all our wingers in 2013. I believe our best wing performance last season, also, came from Nani, which says a lot about Young and Valencia. It's so refreshing watching Nani overload the centre of the pitch and take his man on. The run towards the end when he went past a couple of players was outstanding. It must have been incredibly frustrating for him to not have registered an assist.
