Luis Nani | 2013/14 Performances

Our best signing this summer. Although some posters will be horrified by this, it only makes it better news :)

Should really be coming into his peak years. Lets just hope he puts in some consistent performances his ability warrants.

"How much does United pay him?
Did he take a wage cut too? Cheap bastards.."

That's one cnutish comment on Utd facebook page..

He really should be one of the first names on the team sheet.

If its another season of him on the bench and Young/Valencia/Giggs playing, I might have a meltdown.

An in form Nani is worth a completely stupid amount of money, to be fair. I wouldn't bat an eyelid if United paid £40m for the Nani of 2010 in today's market.

I still don't get why his form that calender year went largely unnoticed by the footballing press. It was similar to the level Mata and Bale were at last season.

That is what happens when there are too many superstars in a team. Rooney, Vidic, Giggs, Chicharito divided Nani's votes but if he had performed the same way for Liverpool, he would have been noticed more. Besides, our rotation kills any rave United players can get.

Even 90% of the fans here would tell you David Silva is 10 times the player Nani is but you would be shocked to know statistically, Nani is head & shoulders above anything Silva can conjure. I really don't know why many of our players are criminally underrated. It's grotesque.

Delighted with that. If he can stay injury free, he can be a real asset for us both through goals and assists.

He's in my fantasy team at work. Paid a pittance for him cause nobody thought he'd play or he'd just feck off abroad.

I always had faith!

I think we have yet to see the best of this boy, hopefully he will peak this season. A new contract and new manager to impress as well as his nostrils cleared a bit, so that he can breathe better. ;) Happy days.

With Fellaini in the team, we would hopefully we willing to sacrifice some defensive ability in the front 4 and play Nani over Valencia on the right. I'd like to see this at some point

RvP
Kagawa-Rooney-Nani
Fellaini-Carrick

with the three behind RvP having some freedom to interchange.

If we ignore the fact that we made a fool of ourselves in the transfer window, we really do have an exciting team. And it's more than good enough to win the league again

Hopefully entering into the peak years of his career and with a new 5 year contract, a huge boost to his confidence that Moyes rates him very highly and that he is a key first team player. If he wants it, should give him the no 7 shirt too.

Needs to kick on and establish himself as the best specialist wing player in the world.

With addition of Fellaini, our best XI is better than any other team assuming its fires all engines.

So who dares to start a 'Nani will ignite our charge to the title, 2013/4 edition' thread?

I'm tempted to but would probably jinx it!

So pleased he's resigned, love watching him play & there's no doubt he'll deliver given an extended run in the team & as long as he can stay injury free.

Good news at last. I'm delighted that Nani's being considered as a long-term, integral component of the team by Moyes.

Nani signing a new contract is being ripped to shreds by both pundits and United fans on talksport tonight.

The general consensus being that he is too inconsistent to warrant a 5 year deal.

I think I would've rather stick a screwdriver in my eardrums than sitting through the fact that people can't tell the difference between being injured on and off and being inconsistent.

Idiots the lot of them. Keeping our best players and putting faith in them is exactly the right move. This is one of the smartest things we've done this summer. Let Nani feel appreciated and he'll do the business. This mindless chatter about him leaving every year annoys me.

I'd agree with this. I really do think Fellaini opens up a lot more options for us now, I don't envy the job Moyes has.

We still have the strongest squad in the league despite our well documented problems in midfield. If everyone was fully fit we could field

De Gea (23)
Rafael(23) Rio(35) Vidic(32) Evra(32)
Carrick(32) Fellaini(26)
Kagawa(24)Rooney(28)Nani(26)
RvP(30)

Lindegaard (29)
Jones (22)Smalling(24)Evans(26)Fabio(23)
Valencia(28) Fletcher(30) Cleverley(24) Young(28)
Hernandez(25) Welbeck(23)

That's not even including the likes of Zaha, Anderson, Giggs, Butter, Powell or Janujaz (Who'm everybody is raving about but I really haven't seen much of). Take into account the young age of the squad aswell and Fergie really has left us in a better shape than most seem to be giving him credit for, certainly going off the reactions the last few days.

Just realised I forgot Bebe too.

I have to say I wasnt bothered either way when I heard this. However I hope he kicks on and finally fulfills his potential.
Interesting he wants to stay now and we were after Coentrao. Maybe a move for Ronnie next year isnt so far fetched.

This is up there with keeping Rooney as the best news this summer. What makes me even happier is to see everybody here as happy as me to see this news too! 5 years is solid commitment; he really must believe Moyes has made him a huge part of the first team plans. He has gone from pretty much guaranteed to leave to signing until 2018 in a matter of months. Really want him to get back to his best this season, he's a fecking nightmare when on form.

What's the point in giving him a new contract when Moyes doesn't rate him and won't play him? It's clear to all that Moyes rates Valencia, Giggs, Welbeck and even fecking Young ahead of him.
lol i got you, didn't I?

I would argue that refusing to sell him at a cut price and giving him a new contract would indicate a certain level of trust, no?

Of course you could just choose to spout off carrying on the mindless negativity on here.

And yeah you did you raging cnut.

This post can be filed quite quickly under "stupid".

We're only a tiny handful of games in for rucks sake. He brought him on as a sub at Anfield. He's back fit and ready now, and clearly will be a key player
