It's an understandable reaction to the Nani mafia who leap on any critical comment of the player like a litigious lawyer throwing around cease and desist orders like they're going out of fashion. It's completely unique to this place, it's a section of posters are on the take. You can criticise any United player, and a lot have and do, but Nani? Oh no, the Nafia will be after you.

Anyone who voices any other opinion than the one the person you quoted sarcastically posted, gets the Nafia treatment here. Even when someone mentions his inconsistency which is as evident as the man having two hands, the Nafia are there.

 Aye the level of support he gets is pretty incredible. See the Kagawa and Berbatov threads also.

Training picture from 6th March:

Needs to bulk up, he's looking skinnier than Adnan in that picture.

Nani does not look happy in that pic! lol.

Maybe our young boy Adnan can get the best out of Nani. If Moyes can get Nani back to form, then we will not need to invest in a winger this summer.

What on earth are you waffling about?

Doesn't care most of the time? Do you have some insight into his mind that the rest of us lack?

For 2 years he was one of our most productive players and he certainly didn't have 3/4 atrocious games back then.

I like Nani and Valencia but when you look at their times here, Valencia has contributed more. Nani has been here how many years and we have had how many good years out him? Nani seems to get better when we play Young and Valencia if we had better wingers most would be happy to see the back of Nani.

Yeah Nani sucks get rid

I was looking for white text but found none. You, as well as I, know that he's our best winger by a country mile when in form and given a run of games. With Januzaj, Mata, Rooney and RVP we lack pace, something Nani has an abundance of. With Young, Rooney and Valencia, we lack flair and unpredictability, which Nani has an abundance of. He should probably be a starter in a set-up with Mata, Rooney and RVP. If Welbeck plays, one may argue that Nani's pace isn't as vital.

Nani doesn't get better when Young and Valencia play but their performances are usually so inept he gets promoted to number 1 choice by default. Similar with Kagawa. If you're not playing, you're not playing badly.

That's actually not a bad thought! It's easy to criticise those who do. However, we all see the gulf in class between Nani at his best and what Valencia and Young have contributed this season.

Erm...

Go and read his post, and bear in mind he often used to get called a Nani "fanboy"

Nani could be a top player if he never got injured, tackled, rotated, subbed or judged on performance. Similarly I could be on the Woman's Hour Power List if I was female and successful, but thems the apples.

Being schooled by a Newbie... these are dark times for you MoneyMay.

It would be nice to have him back before the end of the season at the very least... this injury just seems never ending.

:(

Make prayer for me, please.

#prayforMoneyMay

But I don't think he's in Italy.

Update:

http://www.calciomercato.it/news/26...a-la-pista-Nani-Il-giocatore-e-a-Bologna.html

Which translates roughly to "he is still in Bologna recovering"..... Make of it what you will, however:

Nani injured his hamstring on the 7th December 2013, he has now been out over 13 weeks (Just over 3 months). Typically speaking in sports, a hamstring injury takes 6-10 weeks to recover from, so even if it was particularly bad, he seems to be over 3 weeks behind what we should perhaps expect.

The site below shows expected routes of rehabilitation for this type of injury (in reference to sport) which, as you can see in terms of timelines all suggest he should be back by now......

For me, the worrying thing is seeing things like this...

Marca says Nani's representatives have sent out feelers to Spanish Liga clubs ahead of the January market.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are unlikely to move for the Portugal international, however, Valencia, Villarreal and Atletico Madrid could be keen.
Nani signed new terms with United earlier this season, but has seen Adnan Januzaj move ahead of him in manager David Moyes' plans.

Although it's only tribal/caught offside bollocks, that along with the Juve rumours and the overly long injury recovery, it doesn't look positive IMO....

There's no hard and fast rules about how long injuries take to heal, no matter how much physioroom.com likes to pretend there is. A severely torn hamstring can take months and months to heal. Michael Owen missed almost an entire season with a hamstring injury.

Also, he was never in Bologna to recover. He happened to be in Bologna because of some sort of event run by a sponsor. This happened while he was recovering from an injury and ended up being misinterpreted as though he went to Italy in order to rehabilitate. Which was never the case.

Fixed.

Granted regarding the first part, but all we have to go on, is the fact he has injured his hamstring, that site advised the average recovery time and is correct, he is over average, you citing Owen is fair enough, but I think we can both agree he wasn't the norm and suffered quite a bit from it.

Do you have any sources to prove that at all? regarding the fact he wasn't in Bologna for recovery...

 no he wasn't, I was obviously taking the piss, I don't think he's shit and I wouldn't just write a one line sentence if I did think that.

Do you think he can come back and become an integral part of our team again? We sure could use a player like him, but there aren't many great players like him out there. Di Maria is a great candidate though.

Not this season anyway, and then it'll depend on whether we sell him, I suppose.

Sounds about right. Hopefully he can get a few games towards the end of the season and prove what he is made, which should make it harder to sell him or at least generate more money if Moyes decides on selling him.

Adnan is our only player capable of beating his man. We need Nani back. Pace and skill he has in abundance. Yes he frustrates and can be selfish. But I am sick of watching our slow, predictable buildup.

If the criticism is valid, then fine but shit like he has a terrible attitude and has 4 atrocious games after 2 good game deserves scorn.

I like Nani and Valencia but when you look at their times here, Valencia has contributed more.

I'll be surprised if that's true.

I'll assume you're asking me why he's there, but unfortunately I'm not Nani...

Well that's just sloppy. Do some in-depth research, and properly prepare your posts, like the rest of us.
