Yeah in fact all our subs looked fresh and up for it, hopefully Nani will add a bit of variety in our attacking play that we need right now.

He looked pretty sharp. Fired in some crosses, beat some players. Will be great to have him back as an option.

He also made one terrific through ball where we finally got behind their defense.

It was good to see a bit of flair in the team again.

And so the great United winger injury cycle continues. Nani's back, Young goes off injured. What price on Valencia getting injured once Young comes back?

Hope he can find good form straight away, I think people have forgotten how good he is as a result of Valencia being Valencia.

Good to have him back. He looked ok, nothing too special, I liked his tracking back in one situation, eventough Rio(?) handled it very well. Didn't see too many of those things from Young.
As for Young, I don't think he is injured as people are talking, he is just poor.

Wow, you really aren't a fan.

Not sure why he came on yesterday in place of Rooney. We were being pressed constantly, and Nani has the ball retention of a camel.

 I think you really need to start using your English correctly buddy.

Big difference between "he is just poor" and "he was poor".

my bad.

Obviously I was talking about last game, I am not talking in general.

You didn't see Young tracking back? You must've been watching with your eyes closed.

It wasn't typical tracking back, in that situation he run like horse 50 yards or so covering for Evra. I am not disputing Young for that because Nani isn't great at defending too, I just said I didn't see him doing that.

That's not true at all. Generally this season he's made lots of passes in games and had high pass completion rates.

I assumed it was a compliment. I pictured a camel with a ball wedged between its humps (if it was a bactrian camel). A far better method of ball retention that anything that a horse, for example, would be able to achieve.

Which wingers do you think are great at defending outside of those at our club? I'd have said they're some of the better ones.

Have you ever seen a camel run? It's hilarious.

Nani is pretty great at defending. I'd say the only reason it isn't mentioned more is because we have Valencia, who is probably the best winger at defending on the planet.

It's one of Nani's clear positives.

I'd agree, Nani has an unfair reputation, his tracking back is excellent for a winger.

SAF values teamwork and what you'd call "putting in a shift" a lot. It comes across when he talks about players. You're highly unlikely to be in the team unless you put in a shift. Nani's work ethic is underrated because valencia does it better and he's in the same team as someone rightly pointed out.

Prove it with stats!

There's shit in this thread, and I'm not your bitch. Go get Damian1990.

Also, watch him play. His ball retention is excellent when he wants it to be (i.e. not running at players or pinging in crosses or shooting)

I have not. Are you now saying Nani runs like a camel as well?

Next you will be saying he declines to drink for days on end and enjoys wandering about in the desert in his free time.

Why are you trying to turn yourself into a funny poster? You're not.

Hard to find any better, I said this the other day too that our wingers are all great at defending.

Great to have him back, looked pretty dangerous and could have had a couple assists at the end there. He really is considerably more effective than Young. Maybe some of that is attributed to the scoreline and time in the game when he came on, but it felt good to see the full width both Nani and Valencia can offer together, as well as combined danger obviously.

What's superb is that he is equally good almost, on both sides and with both legs.

So good to have him back. With Val, him and Young we got great options on the wings in the upcoming weeks. The goal today will be very good for his confidence.

Good to have him back, hopefully he'll feature heavily against Everton and be back to full fitness for the derby.
