Probably an exaggeration but I always feel like Nani is injured and/or in loss of form around ths time of the season. Sort of stops me from proclaiming him as one of the best players in the world.

Quite the opposite, the last two seasons he has been in great form during the run in and a massive player for us.

Fergie said yesterday that he didn't play against Bilbao because of anke injury. Don't know about the Wolves game though.

Not really, last season was pretty much the same as how it is this season. The year before though, 09/10, he really came into his own around january time, after the arsenal game. Before that he was the same frustrating Nani that came to United for the first 2 seasons, but since then he's been really good.

Really? I thought last year he was great and our best player till about February when he got injured and then eventually found himself out of the team and not even selected for the first XI in the CL final.

He was one of our better players towards the back end of the 09/10 season though not as good as he was in the rest of the year. Nonetheless he was a massive player for us turning around his United career.

I don't think Nani's far off being the most gifted player in the league, hes certainly up there.

Consistency IS a problem though. He regularly goes through very poor patches of form after being brilliant. I think hes been a little unlucky with injuries too in fairness to him.

I've said it before though, Utd are spoiled having Nani and Valencia, 2 best wingers in the league for me.

Call me skpetical, but i do think there may be some sort of bust-up between Nani and Fergie and the manager is leaving him out of the team for a considerable period of time until he learns.

Well it wouldn't be the first time it's happened. Not sure what they could have fallen out over though. Usually there'd be rumblings in the press but I've not heard anything.

More likely he's just injured.

:lol::boring:

I do agree its probably not correct theyve had an arguement and hes leaving him out, but why would he miss 2/3 games if he just had a "knock which caused a bruise" according to fergie?

I mean unless hes taken 1 hell of a kick but surely a bruise is just a bruise?

And if he was hit that hard wtf are we doing in training to cause such issues?

Somebody asked something similar the other day. Ridiculous question. Football training involves playing football. Playing football carries a risk of bruising. Shocking stuff but there you go...

I think JOS once missed 3 months or so with "just a bruise".

A bruise is a blood contusion, and that can put a player out for a while depending on the severity, I think you're making the mistake of thinking that a bruise is simply some purple/yellow skin on the surface.

Was that the 'dead leg' thing a year or two ago? That was a strange one indeed.

Yes i am a regular football player, thanks for the update

What i mean is the way fergie shrugged it off in the press conference, it was like "oh hes got a little knock on the ankle, but he will be fine for next week".

And now we have had no news on his condition for 2 weeks.

Yes i realise a bruise is blood dying under the skin from broken vessels, but john o shea had a blood clot which would not shift, which could of been potentially fatal, that is surely different to a kick on the ankle?.

I'm always amazed by how, on the one hand, folks on this place dismiss everything journalists have to say on the basis that they exclusively tell lies etc. and on the other jump to massive conclusions based on nothing at all.

Wasn't he supposed to sign new contract or something, it was reported some time ago? And now he's not really injured but punished for something that no one knows what and he's leaving in the summer?

Please don't go Nani...

That was me and of course injuries are going to occur in training but it's the amount of injuries that's the issue. Specifically the amount of injuries that we pick up in Friday training when the squad have a competitive 11 vs 11 practice match.
