Its frustrating when the goals/assists numbers are there in black and white.

It really is.

If the season ended now he'd definitely deserve to win best player in my eyes. He's so far ahead of the rest.

So true. Its criminal really. Very close to being our best player this season.

He's definitely been our best player this season, with Berb and Vidic a little behind. Giggs hasn't played enough to be considered.

Defenders really are scared of him whenever he has the ball at his feet. Even when he isn't moving, they are scared to tackle him for fear of being schooled. His Ronaldo chop right before his assist was super as well.

He's incredibly consistent, which ironically is the thing the pleb pundits say he lacks. Yet another assist, he's phenomenal, and easily the best winger in the league.

People probably think since he's not as good as Ronaldo, he's not that good. They're completely wrong, but he's got a lot to live up to in some people's eyes.

Yep, he's always and will continue to be in his shadow. It's such a shame, he's been fecking amazing this year in truth.

Nani is brilliant. One of the top few players in the league.

I'd have Rafael up there as well.

The relief that Nani brings instead of Ronaldo is that he tracks back, is stronger, and doesn't sulk. I find it a refreshing change.

Dunno about stronger, Ronaldo is a physical specimen, the guy is a beast.

He's becoming pretty damn amazing. Just needs to tone down the selfishness a tad, though it's good he wants to score.

Yes, Ronaldo would stand with his hands on his hips. He would launch his arms up in the air as he sat on the ground.

Nani doesn't do this. He does over exaggerate injuries but this is different from Ronaldo's sulking.

I remember this, especially during the game against Aston Villa where Macheda scored that last gasp winner.

Ronaldo lost the ball near the halfway line and just stood there with his hands on his hips. Villa went on to score from that when Ronaldo could easily have gotten the ball back. Luckily we all know what happened afterwards..

And people say the lad ain't worth £30m?

Magical today, deserved a goal. Only downfall was he was selfish on occasion.

His ball in to Rooney was the best cross I've seen this season. Best winger in the PL, definitely.

I adore Nani and in the current market he's worth more than £40 Million+, my point was that transfer fee's should reflect achievements and another season at this level would confirm his status as one of the worlds elite talents and then worthy of a record-breaking fee. Also my valuation was based on what I think sensible prices for footballers should be hence the lower price.

If by "very close" you actually mean "definitely our best"... then yeah, I agree.

Its very, very, very close between Berbatov, Nani, Rafael and Vidic. The voting should just be to play ip, dip, doo, between those lot and I wouldnt complain who wins to be honest.

Blimey. I agree with Scholesy here. Nani does a lot more work than Ronaldo defensively. Which means we don't need to adapt our tactics to build our team around him. He gets up and down the wing like an old-school winger.

Fan-fecking-tastic tonight. Had a wee dip in form after he did his groin but looks to be right back to his best.

Best non-Ronaldo/Messi winger in the world?

Doesn't have much in his locker when it comes to clearances, though.
But like Ronaldo did when he played for us, Nani takes so much pressure off the defenders when he picks up the ball near our 18 yard box. He can dribble himself out of positions without breaking a sweat or having to clear the ball, which means that our back four don't have to worry about attackers charging the ball down or having to pass it back to VDS.

If Carrol goes for 35 Nani will go for 80! 8 goals and 12 assists?

He has the ability certainly, all that remains now is for him to be a marquee player for us in the CL and dominate European defences, last year I thought he was excellent against Bayern. Better right winger than Nasri for me, Pedro and Sanchez on the other hand, are similar and are arguably better at playing simple but in terms of destructive power.. its hard to beat Nani.

Ronaldo will go down easily. He is a 6 2" athlete and the way he fell to the ground was frustrating. When brushing shoulder to shoulder with a defender and he was beaten, he would fall to the ground.

Nani will not do this, he will be determined to stay up and lock in the defender in the corner. The times he sulks/pretends is when he has been victim of a sliding tackle, not when he has been beaten fairly by the defender - like Ronaldo. It is the same with Valencia, a very strong and determined player, with skill, I find it much easier to watch.

Will Nani ever shoot on his right foot again(I know he had one at the end)....He ran them ragged tonight, brilliant.

That cross to Rooney, that was as they say, worthy of Sportscenter, Perfect. Keep going fella, 14 more league matches to go.

12th assist in the league tonight btw(Official PL stats).

Since most of his shots come when he cuts in from the right wing it's to be expected that most of his shots are from his left foot. When Valencia returns he will almost certainly move to the left and will be cutting in to shoot with his right.

When Valencia is back and he's on the left I would say so.

Seriously though, he was given permission to run riot tonight. Absolutely all over the shop. I think he'll have no problem switching to the left again when we go 4-5-1.

He won't have any trouble on the left, his form will continue as good as it is, I've been saying it for months, be careful though, it's not a popular opinion!

I have a funny feeling about Nani not being as effective on the left, but I hope its just a case of him having matured to such an extent, the side he plays on makes no difference.

I have full faith he'll do fine on the left. He'll probably be given loads of permission to roam around, that's what happened tonight. He's a fecking machine.

Agree completely, the idea of him in this kind of form and a fully fit Valencia playing together is drool worthy.
