Louis van Gaal | Manchester United manager

I'm getting more and more convinced that LVG is the right man for the job.
This, very much for me. I can understand that some may say that Moyes had the same problems, should've been given more time, etc., but deep down, one fills me with confidence, the other didn't. Van Gaal seems to have proper vision for the team and the club, already, and more importantly I think, knows how to achieve it. It's going to be a major overhaul and we're going to have to be patient, but I'm sure he'll put us back on the right track, cos we're a bit of a mess at the moment.

No white text?

White text is so 6 years ago. In all seriousness though, seeing those two start together in yet another managerial era is downright heartbreaking. Nothing that LVG could do with everything concerned.

Meh....

It was dire yesterday. It was lethargic, it was the same old shite etc etc...Rooney shouldn't be captain, "TC23" should piss off and sweep the roads instead, Fletch needs to have a rethink, Valencia is a shithouse these days, we all hate Young, we have no midfield etc etc etc....

However, on the plus side, Blackett was pretty good, as was Jones. And I do be quite critical of Jones but he was quite good yesterday.....Also, once we sign Di Maria, Blind and possibly De Jong, there will be no more of this crap on display in midfield. Once we have Evans, Rojo, Herrera, Carrick, Shaw, Rafael and RVP fully fit, things will look up.

Come Christmas, we will see the tide slowly turn. LVG's ideas and strategy will start taking a grip and we'll be off and running.

There is no question that LVG is the right man for the job. He has my 100% backing and patience. Anyone who wants to play the blame game, blame Fergie for letting the midfield and problems in the squad go without doing anything to remedy it and letting Pogba f**k off...Blame Moyes for our best defender shagging off and literally destroying players like Hernandez and Kagawa("they tell me he's a good player" cnut) and forcing his utter shit footballing "ideas" upon our club and players. Blame the board/Fergie for not spending the money when it needed to be spent! Blame our shoddy scouting system because, Vidic was the last player we actually picked up out of nowhere, in Europe, who was actually good enough to play for us (Nani at the time obviously was but, f**k knows what happened him)

LVG has only been with this group of players for 6 weeks....You won't see Moyes' ideas thrown out of these players' head's until Christmas....And we won't see our midfield fixed 100% until one of LVG's man crushes comes here(Strootman/Vidal incase you didn't know) and Herrera gets used to the league

It'll be all good come Christmas :)

He will get it right, I have no doubt about that the guy is a world class coach but I'm already getting tired of this 3-5-2 bollocks, we don't look comfortable at all. 4-2-3-1 all the way now with Di Maria and Adnan on the wings with 2 of Mata/Rooney/RvP through the centre.

You forgot to mention Di Maria. Despite the shite we have starting for us right now, I think he'll still improve us vastly starting from next weekend. Acquiring a player that can terrorise teams with pace, trickery and intelligence will be a real treat. He's a world class player to boot. I for one am expecting a big lift from his arrival.

Simply sign a good central midfielder and we have a strong team.

Transition to 4-2-1-3:

- - - - - - De Gea - - - - - -
Rafael - Jones - Rojo - Shaw
- - - - Blind - - Herrera - -
- - - - - - - Mata - - - - - -
Di Maria - Rooney - Januzaj

Personally I do not have a problem with that team and I also do not have a problem with our depth. And I think Robin van Persie could become a super sub.

Not happening. He'll be first choice whenever fit.

But Louis van Gaal said when fit his captain always plays. And Rooney isn't anywhere near Mata's level as a 10. And Mata cannot play RW, Louis van Gaal would need to adapt his system so he could come in field to make that work, he might prefer Adnan out wide.

He can't have his captain on the bench and vice captain not in the match day squad...

I actually agree with that formation and most of the personnel, although I'd want Di Maria to tuck in and be a bit more central like he was last season. I just wouldn't ever start with Rooney ahead of rvp, and we need his technical quality IMO. Don't think LVG will drop him either. Let's see. He's got an embarrassment of riches in attack now.

Spot on, mate.

Yesterday was the first time LVG saw Rooney/Mata/RVP in a competitive match so no one can say for certain what he will do next.

So lets just give those 3 an extended run in the team and see what the can do when fully fit and fully coached.

I hope he's not too stubborn to see the problems this system gives us. Makes us worse defensively and going forward.

He looks as clueless as Moyes did in his last few months. Just looks lost there on the bench.

Every faith in him long term but it's been a poor choice of line up tonight I think. Too many youngsters to expect them to dominate anyway and then it's not really a surprise the senior players don't look up to it when half of 'em will expect to be sent on their way before the window closes.

He is learning more about his squad tonight - namely that the buying does not stop with Di Maria. He inherited a mess, and not only due to Moyes.

I honestly wonder what LVG must of thought when he joined us and saw the absolute state of our squad. Seriosuly for arguably the biggest club in the world and the richest, our squad is embarrassing. Two thirds of the players in our squad should be nowhere near 'the biggest club in the world'.
I'm not trying to say LVG isn't to blame for anything but feck me, it must of been a bit of a shock for him when he started working with the squad.

9 players injured after 1 PL game and we look like we cannot pass. It's crystal clear that LVG favors endurance training and we do very little on the ball work.
is joke

It's a shocking scoreline, but there's a lot of young players out there, mixed with squad players that will probably be sent packing soon. Getting on LVG's back for giving some players another chance is downright daft.

Moyes was getting dogs abuse for looking clueless on the bench. I will hold LVG to the same standards.

I'm a lot more disappointed that we are into the new season with so much dross still on our books. So many players shouldn't be here.
