Ah. So he didn't say that after all.
Ah. So he didn't say that after all.
Why is our manager making back page headlines like
"Jose is my master"
We're playing them in a few hours, why would he say that?
Defending corners. We mark man to man, right? Not zonal?
What the FUCK is Rafael doing marking Drogba?
Exactly. Been defending like chumps all seasons and it's incomprehensible decisions like that which make me wonder how much of it is down to coaching which doesn't pay enough attention to that aspect of the game. Maybe defending set-pieces isn't part of this "philosophy"? Really strange.
We havent exactly got the tallest of players out there, who else would you have marking him given our CBs were marking theirs?Defending corners. We mark man to man, right? Not zonal?

He just does... Nothing
Don't have any impact players on the bench.Really needs to do something. We've been worful this half and it's clearly not working.

OMG really? Even IF we lose this game we have played better than anything we did last season.Really really poor start. It could, very realistically, be 12 points from 10 games this time next week. It's all very well good supposedly playing better than we did under Moyes but we're making Moyes' team look like world beaters despite spending a fortune on the current team.

RvP was on the post and i believe Fellaini was picking up Cahill (stand to be corrected there)Fellaini? RvP?
Drogba will always be their biggest threat at set-pieces. Sticking Rafael on him makes no sense whatsoever. Baffling decision.

EDIT and before you say it you want a 6 footer marking the near post so he can also attack the ball if they play it short
Is he done with his drawing already? All he ever do is to sit there with his paper and pen. Van Gaal, you're not playing a friendly here buddy!! Get up and get involved!
I'd disagree, RvP never picked up a player when SAF was here. He if anything would always get on the near post or the area near it to head it away if it has that type of flight.Fergie always had Rafael on a post and RvP marking someone. An obvious decision.

I'd agree that Rafael did take the post a lot more under SAF
Well how many prolonged periods did Moyes have without the likes of one of Rio/Vidic/Evans/Jones/Smalling?He has United playing good football, but not football that has us winning games. I am starting to question whether Van Gaal is that much better than Moyes. Nevertheless, I am just enjoying our football at the moment and I hope that eventually our result soon reflect our performance
Our football has been better in general under LvG but hasn't translated to results so far, and it needs to do so soon.
It doesnt just have be zonal or man marking you can have a free man when you man mark to attack the ball. You would see Vidic do it often against the smaller sidesZonal marking.
We didn't do it.
Are you going to call VG a piece of garbage as well now?Is he done with his drawing already? All he ever do is to sit there with his paper and pen. Van Gaal, you're not playing a friendly here buddy!! Get up and get involved! Mourinho said more to Mikel than you said all game!
TBF who else would really make an impact off the bench? We used 1 sub? That's surprising.

If our football has improved it begs to reason the more the team plays together it will click at some point
True. We're fecked then aren't we. Hoping for a set peice or a worldie.
