Television Lost: The Final Season

It's clear by your long reply that nothing I say will change your view so I think we are just going to have to agree to disagree on this one

There was also a lot of character development in season 2.

That SOS episode told us a lot about Rose & Bernard and gave us a hint about the magnetic centers around the globe which was further clarified to the oceanic 6 in season 5 under that church.

Rose and Bernard can suck my balls. Useless, pointless characters.

....True, I got a bit too into that didn't I?

Mockney sometimes people don't always want the story being driven and to the point. At times it's nice to have episodes like S.O.S, although it's not one of my favourites. Those kind of episodes are part of why I and many other love Season One so much, and Season Two. Some of the funniest and more likable episodes in the show are the ones like Tricia Tanaka Is Dead in S3 and Some Like It Hoth in S5.

I agree, but in S2, almost all of the flashbacks were re-treads of season 1 flashbacks...to me anyway. And you can only do so many of them per season...Season 1 was fantastic, I'm not debating that

I agree with Mockney on S2 to an extent. I don't think it was bad by any means, but it is definitely the series that suffered most from not having an end date. There was a lot of padding in there, which wasn't too bad at the time as is offered insight into characters we weren't as fully acquainted with, but doesn't really interest on a re-watch. Plus the big plot points, the hatch and the tailies, were both very contained within the series. Aside from bringing in Des and introducing the Others as more than just whispers and Ethan (although that technically began at the end of S1, only Ben was really introduced in S2), it really hasn't had much effect on the show as a whole.

If they'd had an end date from the start, the important bits from S2 would probably have just been squeezed into 1 & 3. In fact, I think I remember reading a few years ago about the hatch storyline being originally intended to finish in S1 had to it not been for the need to stretch things out? Could be wrong though.

Thing is though lads without what happend in S2 you would have a very large chunk missing in S5

What would your 10 best episodes be then feckos?...I'd guess there'd be less S2 episodes than most when you actually think about it. I'm probably completely wrong though as usual

Mine are, and I'll probably remember more and change them straight afterwards:

1. Through The Looking Glass - Season 3 - Ending blew my mind, Charlie.
2. Tricia Tanaka Is Dead - Season 3 - Hurley and Dharma van, funny shit.
3. All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues - Season 1 - Jack getting his father fired, Ethan, Charlie hanging.
4. The Constant - Season 4 - Headfeck.
5. There's No Place Like Home - Excellent finale.
6. Man of Science, Man of Faith - Season 2 - Hatch, Desmond, Finally.
7. Lockdown - Season 2 - Ben, Blast Door, Did he push the button?
8. The Moth - Season 1 - Locke and Charlie, Locke's moth analogy, cave-in..
9. Some Like It Hoth - Season 5 - Feel good episode, Miles, Hurley etc...
10. Outlaws - Season 2 - Sawyer and the boar
11. Adrift - Season 2 - Sawyer is fecking funny in it.

I'm still not happy with that list, I wanted to add 20 more. I'm sure I've missed out some better episodes too but that was off the top of my head.

Of course, that should be on my list. feck you Mockney, I'm doing 11.

Can't remember all, but I think the Constant might still be my favourite...

Shit, I'm, going to try and see if I can watch Seasons 1-5 before S6 starts

There's more

*316
*Cabin Fever
*Dead Is Dead
*Enter 77
*The Brig
*The Shape of Things to Come

Can't remember all, but I think the Constant might still be my favourite...

Good luck mate. I started back in December and I'm only on The Man From Tallahassee in S3. You'll need to rid yourself of any social life to do it. It is very fun watching through them again though.

I don't know but there were many when you pm'd me in shock. You should watch them back one day, it's quality.

I aim to watch them all so much I could replay the entire series in my head. Then my life will be complete.

I'm trying really hard not to pick up any spoilers this time. Last season for instance I ++++++++++++++++, when I really should have stayed off the Lost Forums, and experienced the full WTF moment

EDIT - sorry Elv

Don't ruin it for Elvis....spoil that

Not going to tell you 'my ten best' till I rewatch them...definitely 'The Constant', the S3 finale, the one where they find Naomi and Desmond keeps getting all the flashes, possibly Dead is Dead, the variable, and any of the other finales but as I said, too fdifficult without watching them again

In your opinion...It had more overtly shit episodes, but it also had more infinitely better episodes. I prefer the greatness of extremes to the steady stream of mediocrity

Also...Annoying Lost question 402: Why is Faraday American when both his parents are English and he went to Oxford? Do we think that'll ever be explained? And do you think they'll finally reveal that he's Billy Cudrups crack addicted runt brother?

That bugged me as well, really odd. Well not the crack addicted runt brother bit but now i'm intrigued.
