Television Lost: The Final Season

I liked this Alt time line...It felt like season one...Finding out new things about the characters rather than retreading the same old chiches in different situations.

Also that map makes no sense...So the others fake camp was a hop skip and a jump from the four toed statue none of them seemed to know about but the cable Sayid found whilst, "walking along the beach" is half way across the island from their beach camp?

I dont think sawyer was with fake locke when he entered the tent!!

Agreed the alt timeline doesn't do anything for me and i dont see its importance. Obviously they'll tie it in with the current timeline because they wouldn't be showing it if they didn't mean to merge both the timelines.

Apparently the name linus was also crossed out and austin is #51. Check the screenshot ive posted when jack was going through the names.

He wasn't but I think its safe to assume he's going to be with Smokey on his travels now.

Hmm....could be one list of names was written by Jacob and the other by Smokey.

Another great episode. Hurley was brilliant

"Me and you, walking through the jungle with no idea what we're supposed to be doing, good times dude."

Agree with the flashsideways as well, even though it seems unrelated at the moment it was good as a standalone thing.

Claire is batshit crazy and badass, I like it. I also never got why Jin didn't tell her in the first place.

V good episode

Like others have said, it's time for some Desmond (and Penny)

Also liked the way they advertised the next ep (since I watched a live feed...ads and all)..by saying

We can't show any more than a few seconds footage from this episode...but questions WILL BE ANSWERED!

...exciting!!

Another really good episode. Agree with the general consensus here, on island was great and flashes were insightful too. Also agree, looking forward to some Desmond. Wondering how he fits in now.

I'm liking all the little nods to 'our' timeline in the flashes, this time being Jack's scar. Just little reminders that the producers know exactly what's going on. Good stuff. Also interesting to see Dogen, all our Losties are encountering Others.

A lot to look forward too now from that episode, really sets things up on island. Jack's destiny, Clare and Smonkey bestest buddies (although come on, who didn't guess that was her friend??), Kate's gonna get her ass kicked amongst other things.

Kate's name on the wheel thing was nice too, noticed Dawson and Rousseau too. Nice little touches as always with Lost.

I also like how Hurley is kinda acting as the voice of the audience, he was great in this ep.

"What if we time travel again to like, dinosaur times and die, and we're those skeletons?"

"He kinda just appears whenever he wants, like Obi Wan Kenobi"

Yeah, that line was hillarious.
Its strange how they've upped his Star Wars fandom in the last season. Did he make any star wars references pre-season 5?

Probably one or two. I know Sawyer called Michael and Jin 'Han & Chewy' on the raft in season 1

I do remember Hurley comparing Jack's calming down Shannon to a Jedi mind trick! So that'd be series 1 or 2 I suppose.

Aye, it's interesting to note aswell that so far all of the centrics this season have been the same as S1, next up in season 1 is Jack and then Sun and guess what episode 6 is called?
Sundown
and then episode 7 was a Charlie centric in season 1 so that makes me think if this pattern continues that eppy 7 will be Richard centric.

And also
Judging by the promo for The Lighthouse it looks as though it definately will be Jack centric

Seems I could be on the right track

Why do you assume the Charlie one will be an Alpert?

I dont know, just a guess seeing as Charlie is dead (in the actual timeline atleast) and weve already had a Smokey/locke centric so next on the list of exciting flashes would be Richard

Just makes sense to me

I suppose, it could even be Miles maybe. He hasn't had much screen time this season and seems to have taken Charlie's place as Hurley's best mate on the island.

Heck it might just be Charlie in the alternate timeline interacting with a fellow lostie.

Good episode. Loved the sideways story.

Actual spoiler about eccentricity of episode 7

It is called Dr. Linus, so it is around Ben!

Another one about next episode's., not a biggie

It is Sayid centric even though it is called sundown

My guess for next eps flashsideways

Sayid will probably be togeher Nadia in the flashsideways. Or maybe he never even joined the Republican Guard?

What do we think of the whole Jack appendix scar thing then? Was obviously deliberately put in, him noticing it then asking his mum. At the moment it seems like they have memories of the original timeline but don't quite know it. The way Jack recognized Desmond, the way Kate looked at Jack from the Taxi, and now Jack asking about his appendix when in the original timeline it was taken out by Juliet on island.

I went on channel surfing.net and watched a live feed of ABC since I'm gonna be up all night working as it is...I'll try and find you one though, there are plenty about

What's the quality like? Might try this next time

I think having watched another show that deals with alternate time lines(universes) in this case in the shape of Fringe(also devised by JJ Abrams) i think its possibly to do with the effect of whats sometimes called course correction.

Its what supposedly happens shortly after a timeline is change or altered, time corrects itself by creating a new reality. In this case it is Jack's appendix having been removed when he was seven instead of whilst he was on the Island(which of course he has never visited in this timeline). What then happens is that the person who is the subject of the altered fact - in this case jack - has vague memories or emotions that are at odds with the corrected fact this is sometimes in the form of de ja vue or an intense emotion such as irrational fear, despair loss or the feeling of familiarity(thinking he met Desmond before).

Sorry for the complicated answer but i recently watched the directors cut of Donny Darko which runs on a similar idea(hence the character reactions at the end).

:(:(:(

Down to single figures I think (theres only 14 eps this season?)

The last few episodes ever of Lost

Not to worry just yet, I think it's more like 17-18 episodes this series!

once new candidates take the place of jacob and mib they can re-cast lost and show us another 6 seasons.

Haven't seen it yet. How did you folks manage to watch it? I'm in the states on work right now, but haven't got a tv in my flat yet, its killing me.

You got a link Mockney? And sounds like a good episode from what you say as well. This is torture.

There's usually an ABC channel online on veetle every week broadcasting it. I usually watch it there and the quality's pretty good.

Another solid episode.

I love how Hurley says exactly what is on the audience's mind. Jack once again broke out into a fit but was ok, the rest of the episode made up for it. Will be very interesting to see how this Claire/Smokey arc will turn out

So Smokey possessed Christian Shepard's body after the Losties first crashed on the island?

Maybe. Thing is from what we've seen of the ghosts in the past, Smokey never needed to actually take their body, he could just take their form. So there was no need for Christians body to go missing.

except to confuse Jack. If he'd just seen his father then as a man of science he would have put it down to hallucinations due to stress/dehydration etc, the body not being in the coffin meant it took on a new reality for him. At least that was my take on it.
