Lost Series 4 *BE AWARE THIS THREAD MIGHT INCLUDE SPOILERS*

All these time theories are not gonna happen.

LOST is a mainstream popular show, watched by millions, majority of them being thick yanks. The whole explanation is going to be a simple one. One people who even don't know about the science can understand. The whole button thing was there for this reason only.
I wouldn't say that's strictly true. Season 2 was so arduous that a lot of people stopped watching Lost. So if you think about it, the people left watching Lost are prepared for some long-winded theory, even if time travel is involved. I hope it's something as complex as that, or the whole thing would have been a waste of time

Coming in halfway through a mass discussion here, I've been watching LOST sdince episode one and download the eps off the net. Thursday episode I thought was cool, I like the look of the pilot, Frank I think it is, seems like a cool guy.

SPOILERS

It's obvious the next Oceanic 6 person to be revealed is Sayid, as it's a Sayid-centric episode and therefore we would only see his flash-forwards off the island.

Anyone see Naveen Andrews on Jonathan Ross the other week? It's really weird seeing him talk with his normal British accent.

i dont like the idea of sawyer dieing he didnt even get off the island so who did jack see inside the casket.

i think the 6 that got off the island were jack, kate, sayid, sun, jin, hurley so one of them must have died

I can't see them ever killing off Sawyer or Locke, they're too lovable.

Reckon the 4 from the Freightor are sent by Dharma or something? Since they want Ben they might be getting revenge for the purge.

Who do you reckon Ben's ma on the boat is?

Sounds like a decent idea but i was thinking they want him for something totally different, yet to be revealed. I still dont trust ben even though throughout the show you change your mind a little on him and locke, sometimes they seem crazy, sometimes not..

Dont know about the man on the boat, dont even know how significant it will be (yet)..

If Lost has taught us anything, its "dont trust ben!"

Ben says that he has a guy on Naomi's freighter. Who else could it be but Michael? Remember that Ben sent Michael & Walt off on that little boat--definitely un-seaworthy! And he told them to follow the coordinates & that they would be picked up. No way that boat could survive the open sea. So Ben had to know that someone would be there waiting for them. And whoever picked them up could be holding Walt as a hostage in order to leverage Michael's cooperation. Michael is a plant on the freighter, feeding Ben information about the new people.

Very interesting... So why do they want Ben?

Been reading on Wikipedia about the Abaddon guy, so are the losties really dead? or does he want them dead?

I think he was referring to the Freightors, as he was the one who sent them on the mission (as seen in Ep 2), and he asks Hurley 'are they still alive'.

So how come the helicopter people not surprised about the survivors despite black guy insisting that there arent any survivors in ep 2?

I guess theres stuff we dont know yet on this.

ben is lying he does not have any man on the boat...the island and the rest of the world are on different timelines and ben timetravels often so he knows everything about them....

ben always tells the truth with a bit of lies molded into it...thats what lost has taught us about him.

Another interesting thing i noticed is wheres that footage of the pilot come from on the tele?!?! I thought the pilot was on the island, didnt the monster kill him in the first season?

two different timelines

in the islands timeline it crashed on the island and on the rest of the worlds timeline it crashed in the water...which concludes that the island will be destroyed before 2004 (island timeline)

Just speculation

I agree. Look at this from Ep 2. Timeline A - Plane crashed in water, all dead.
Timeline B - Plane crashed on island.

One is from when Miles goes up to talk with the ghost and when is when he comes down. Sorry to steal this thread from the other section, but this is kind of a different theory and this place usually generates more discussion from recently-aired episodes. Pictures seemed to have been posted twice:(

We know that the wreckage was found 2 months after the crash and we also know that Miles was listening to the radio which mentioned that the wreckage had just been found when he goes into the house. Desmond pushed the fail safe key at the end of season 2 which, I believe, was 2 months or so after they had been on the island. If anyone can confirm this, then it is my belief that the button was pushed at some time while Miles was upstairs with the ghost. Him going back in time somehow affected the picture frames on the wall, which can logically be deduced from an almost endless array of scenarios.

yes that was it...remember when miles was sitting in the bed, the windows behind him you could see the sky turned purple for a second.

Why the feck do the people on the island not ask WHY????? They want Ben but no one asks fecking why!!!! Its like when Locke was with Ben and he wanted answers from Jacob. Why didnt he just say to Ben ok take me to see Jaboc but before we do.....Where the feck are we, who the fecks jacob, whats going on and why the feck is everyone on this fecking poxy island.

If i was on the island i would be fecking doing my nut. I would be asking what the feck is going on.

didnt charlie ask in season 1 "where are we" ;)

only locke and jack have talked with ben and sawyer always starts beating ben. locke also asked "what is the smoke monster" but ben didnt say anything....

you sorta have to figure it out yourself

you may have already read this theory, but i liked it so ill retell it..

The Dharma initiative was actually a time travel experiment, with 2 'doors', 1 being on the island and the other being somewhere else (Dharma headquarters).
The plane accidentally flew/crashed into the time bubble and crash landed on the island TWENTY YEARS AGO. In their own timeline they are all dead. Which is why, Dharma do not want anyone to escape the island.

The Dharma people, Ben etc, are fed information back from HQ, by people coming through the time doorway. Think about it. Why do Dharma know so much about everyone? Because they have 20 years to research everyones file!

The best of the theories ive read so far IMHO

they are 4 years behind not 20 years....the plane crashed because desmond didnt feed in the codes after the 108mins when he caught kelvin trying to escape the island on desmon's boat.

there's a theory going that the swan station in which desmond kept feeding the codes after every 108mins was attached to the time machine...which kept the island going in a time loop of every 108 mins thus the year on the island is 2000 while the plane crashed on in the year 2004 (according to the rest of the world) because of this jacks father is seen on the island with other half dead ghosts because they died in 2004 and after but the year on the island is 2000 so they are half dead and will be so until the time on the island is 2004.

when the numbers were being entered after every 108 mins the same day was getting repeated again and again on the island untill when desmond used the failsafe key after which the timeloop stopped and the time on the island started again but is behind 4 years to the rest of the world.

Hmmm....that sounds quite good to me........

So maybe the pilot in the underwater plane is actually the bearded guy that was on the helicopter?

I quite like the time loop thing Vida is talking about, makes some sense, but obviously there are other things that arent explained, like the monster.

That time loop thing is just not gonna happen. It will be proved soon enough.

In Kate's flashback episode, she will be having her day in the court. Meaning she will be going back with all those charges still holding over her head and not in some other year when she was free.
And more likely explanation of that crashed airline shown in water is that it was faked by the company. Note the helicopter pilot, notices that the pilot of the plane was the not the real one.
