Television Lost: Season 5

The Spider/Expose/Locke would explain why they did that "filler" episode in season 3 introducing two new characters and killing them off just for the fact that in two seasons time they could use it for the story.

Huh?

The spiders has the ability to paralyse their victimes for 48 hours. Making them look dead, however after 48 hours they'd be alive and well. In that episode 2 random characters got stung by these spiders and they collapsed infront of the losties. Thinking they were dead, the Losties buried them, but infact they buried them alive!

Therefore Xanders possible theory is that Locke has been paralysed by these spiders to act dead. Personally I think Lockes's dead, but the island will resurrect him like the island did with Christopher when he returns. Turning him into some higher being.

Any ideas on who Adam and Eve are now?

A great question. Didn't they have some kind of stones with them? It could be any of our losties as they are after all travelling back through time. So in theory if our losties died on the island whilst they were in the past, then their remains would be seen in the present.

/tries to remember how it worked in Back to the Future.

Yes. They had black and white stones, and the writers said in an interview that Adam and Eve will be proof they had the whole thing figured out from the start.

I'm thinking it might be Rose and Bernard.

Forgot it was 48 hours. Maybe that was what was in the darts that stung Sayid? Locke probably is dead thinking about it now, as you say in the same way Jack's dad has been brought back with Jacob the same thing could happen to Locke.

Oh how i've missed Lost theories.

The black and white stones could I guess represent their skin colour. But surely thats a little too obvious. Perhaps the white/black represents constants?

i.e. white is the opposite of black and person A is the constant of person B.

It just strikes me that it could be Rose and Bernard. I guess those stones would represent something else.

Either way, that's now one of the biggest mysteries for me.

Just read an interesting theory that Adam and Eve could be Aaron and Ji-Yeon (probably spelt wrong). One conceived on the island and born on it and the other the reverse. Both have to go back with their mothers and end up staying on the island.

Also:

The stones could be a reference to Urim and Thummim, stones used as a scrying medium or in a divination process by ancient Hebrews. The stones were used for revelation in conjunction with the Breastpiece of The High Priest. The Breastpiece of the High Priest was first worn by Aaron, Israel's first high priest. The stones were positioned directly over Aaron's heart to enable him to make the right decision.

That got me thinking it could be them. Got from this website
http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Adam_and_Eve/Theories

That's a very popular theory I have seen. There's somehting up with Ji Yeoun though I feel. Sun showed Kate a baby picture.

Who the hell are Adam and Eve? I don't remember referance to the them at all - can any explain please?

At least Aarons destiny now makes more sense. Mrs Hawkings believes that the world will end if the Losties don't return to the island. I seem to remember that Claire was told that Aaron would destroy the world. Well if he doesn't return then he will do.

Adam & Eve were 2 skeletons found in the caves in season 1. They had black and white stones and the skeletons were never explained.

However Claire also told Kate in season four not to take Aaron back.

the next episode is going to be better than the first two and we'll get answers.

Yeah. Im quite sure they have just set the foundations with the first few episodes! I watched the recap the other day and the two producers said there will be more answers than questions this time around.

Judging by the first two episodes i don't know about that!!

I'm not expecting any real answers until the last 5 episodes.

Nah, they always start like this. Every season started in a similar vein really.

They will get on with it now.

(at least I hope)

The problem the Losties have is where do they go? They have to go somewhere that will be safe from all of the natives, whilst also trying to avoid their past selves.

Judging by Daniels intervention of Desmond, it seems like you can change the past. He was able to send present Desmond a message. Therefore in theory, the Losties could change a whole host of events that will alter the present.

As an example: If Locke had gone up into the drug plane (which he nearly did until Ethan shot hiis leg), then it could in theory had fallen down during that sequence. Therefore it would have saved Boones life as he wouldn't have died as the plane fell from the tree.

It would be a get out clause mind as the writers can now in theory change any event that happened in previous episodes with the excuse of "time travelling Losties".

I hope this doesn't happen but instead our Losties watch events unfold from the sidelines, giving us another perspective of past events.

I thought the past couldn't be changed as Farraday said himself. It's just Desmond is a special case, as we've seen before. So i don't think there'll be any weird changing history so they never crashed storyline.

Locke getting shot was the 'past' stopping itself from being changed, based on what i understand to be the way time works in Lost.

Exactly as Ms Hawkings said history has a way of "course correcting". Charlie is a good example, Desmond knew he was going to die so tried to save him, but no matter what he did Charlie was destined to die.

I'm not convinced that what Faraday said was based on any truth. Would you want Sawyer running around the island trying to change history to bring Kate back?

Daniel may well have made that theory up to try and stop Sawyer from doing anything rash. After all it was Sawyer who initally banged on the door that set the chain of events off.

Daniel will keep trying to change history in my opinion. He openly lied to the other Losties that he hadn't seen Desmond after all. He's a timelord of sorts.

Something happened in between him knocking on the door and talking to Desmond, and him telling Sawyer that he cant change anything.

Im not sure what it was, but it made him realise that he could change something.

but why would he continue the same lie with Desmond then? Why would he continue the same lie as Ms Hawkings? Hawkings said time could not be altered, it would always right itself. Daniel said the same. He even said it to desmond, in explaining that he was unique in that he could change things (probably because Daniel knew about his time jumping) so while i understand the cynicism, it doesn't pull together for me. Also, why would Daniel not want Sawyer to rescue him, so that he doesn't end up trapped on the island and possibly dead in a few hours.

Been reading up on Lostopedia on theories and what not..

Safe to say my head's fecked up now.

Totally forgot about the paralyzing spiders. And theres Sawyer walking through the jungle without any shoes on.

lol and on a side note may i just say i'm glad Neil is dead.

A little tribute to everyone's favourite frozen yoghurt salesman.

"Look, Tubby. You're holding up the line. You and I both know that you're not gonna get past doing laundry with her. So, how about you back off and let a real man show her what's what?"

To Hurley about Libby.

That was a classic TV moment.

Perhaps the biggest question is.

What have the other survivors been doing since they got on the island...

Like our pal Neill. Have they just been relaxing on the beach?? whilst Locke was getting eaten by a giant smoke machine, Hurley was running through the jungle chasing some guy wearing slippers and a dressing gown, Jack playing golf, and Sayid torturing anyone with a pulse...

Can someone please pm me download links to the first two episodes. Vida, I'm looking at you. Thanks in advance.

When is the next episode?

"John, when we meet in the future I'm not going to remember you, so when we do, give me this"

"What is it?"

"Its a compass, John"

"What does it do?"

"It points North, John"

Made me laugh

:lol:That was great wasn't it. Nice to see them incorporate a little humor in a scene as serious as that one. Hurley's explanation of the entire story on the island was great as well.
