It was under Ben's orders.
It was that guy who visited Michael when he had got back from the island, the one who takes orders from Ben.
Michael had found himself unable to die, and so they had him take a bomb onto Widmore's people's boat.
Michael delayed the bomb once he was found out.

Theres a good point on that blog about how the first scene of Season 5 with Faraday in the Orchid, may be a flashback, perhaps the island travels back to that time which gives Faraday the chance to sneak in.

So not only was I trying to figure out what was happening, and what will happen, I had to puzzle together what had already happened in the previous episodes. I should have waited for the recap. Ah well.
So how can Locke be on the island and dead off the island ?
The scenes you saw on the island are 3 years before what you see off island.
Thought this was made clear by the '3 years earlier' bit?

Ben never explicitly said that Locke was dead. Because Locke is 'unique' I reckon he'll jump from the past, on the island, back to the present in the coffin.
I thought that too, but then I wondered whether by the time they have achieved this - do they have some sort of control or grasp of the time travel?
Faraday didn't just pop up, he knew where had to be, he was in the right kit, and keeping his head down not to be seen...maybe he was there to try and get to the power source - which we know in real time is possible because Ben got to it
Hmmm... I get the feeling Jin isn't dead for some reason.
I dont think he is...wasnt he in a flash forward last season where he was trying to buy a teddy for someone, and we all thought it was for his own son, but it was for someone else?
He could have easily moved back in time as well, would have landed in the ocean and would be swimming back right now!
Same way Desmond seems to.how can he do that?
This seems to confuse a lot of people. It was a Sun flashforward and a Jin flashback in the same episode. Have to admit, it took me a bit to get it too but it makes sense the way the episode went. Jin is dead I'm afraid!

As for the woman in the last scene, shes the one that was in Desmonds big time travel eppy in S4, mother time was her nickname from lostpedia I think. So alink with faraday isnt there imo.

Also anyone notice when Juliet was explaining the hatch to the ghost hunter guy when she mentioned Desmond was down there the camera went to Faraday and he had a wierd look on him....the evidence is getting stronger that he may indeed be Radzinsky. Would also explain how he was at the orchid in the first scene of S5

Just like Christian Shepherd did. His coffin was on the plane that crashed, and you've seen him with Claire and in Jacobs cabin.
I just rewatched "The Constant" to make more sense of this time travelling. So the time travelling is happening to the survivors because they have been exposed to electromagnetic radiation, probably when the hatch exploded. Thats why its not happening to the others. But why is it happening to Juliette? I wonder if Charlotte is experiencing the same thing Desmond and that other guy experienced. They all bleeded nose blood.

Claire. She dissapeared in the jungle when she was with Sawyer leaving Aaron.
Locke later saw her hanging out with Christian(Jack's dad) and Jacob(invisible dude) in the Cabin. She was smiling and relaxed. Havent seen her since.
one more thing , how does locke's body get off the island?
I presume Locke left the Island to persuade the others to come back - and died then..as he is supposed?

If you remember, when Hugo's dad sits down to watch the tv, EXPOSE is on with a 'previously on EXPOSE' bit. In season 3, i think, there was the episode with the young one from EXPOSE in it. Her and the boyfriend got bitten by the spiders whose poison made it seem like you were dead for ages. I'm thinking the EXPOSE nod in this episode links back to that, and that locke only appears dead. Also, Ben purposefully ignored Jacks question on whether Locke was actually dead.

Good stuff, a little befuddled. Who was tha woman at the end then if she was in a previous episode? I thought she was going to be Farraday's mother. But for him to fly from LA to Oxford in a night would be rather impracticle.
The Spider/Expose/Locke would explain why they did that "filler" episode in season 3 introducing two new characters and killing them off just for the fact that in two seasons time they could use it for the story.

1- Remember way back in season 1 when the plane crashed Jack went to find his Dads coffin and it was found empty? Then Christopher shows up on the island appearing to be 'alive'. Would it not be a coincidence that Locke (whos also dead) goes back to the island in a coffin... it almost seems like the island has the ability to resurrect people who died in the 'real world'.
2- The old lady at the end of episode 2, are we sure thats Faradays mother? Thats a pretty large assumption by us all as Daniel himself told Desmond she lived in Oxford. How would Ben get from LA to Oxford in such a short period of time? Wouldn't Desmond (who appeared to be on the coast of the UK) get there first? Could Ben have the ability to teleport (perhaps the box he had hidden in the hotel room has something to do with this?).
3- Considering our Losties (on the island) are going back/forward in time. Does this mean we'll meet Danielle and her scientest buddies?

She is the woman from the Desmond time-travel episode, who explained to desmond about the rules of time. Beyond that, we know nothing about her, and yeah, an assumption that she is Daniels mother is a bit of a leap, at the moment.
She certainly seems to be the expert on time travel. She seems to work for Ben (her computer screen has a dharma logo on it). She also seemed to be working out the positions of each island 'leap' you can see pinpoints on a world map. I knew I saw her face before and it was only until I looked on lost-forum did I find out she was the woman in Constant.
