I have always though Pole Vaulting was a strange sport, who ever had the idea to jump over a pole 4+ meters high using another pole to help was either mad or inspired.

Final is Thursday not tomorrow. Can't remember if the semis were Thursday, could be on the Morning session.

I'm sorry but I don't buy these false starts. There was one by some Turkish woman few days back and now another in the women's 100m hurdles heat. Both absolutely blatant. You can't train for years and be THAT bad. The commentators seemed to think neither stood any chance in qualifying through as well.

Well so far it's been the runners who were predicted to go out in the first round of heats. So just reaching the olympics was probably victory enough for them. That first Turkish woman hadn't raced in a year apparently so she must have known she had no chance whatsoever.
