London 2012 Olympic Competition

That might be something to do with the latter two spanning hours/days. It's fun to watch but not exactly the most skilled of sports imo

Maybe, but I think its just more of an atmosphere sport. Football, tennis, volleyball, hockey, basketball, etc all really draw on the atmosphere. The crowd get behind it and lift the players increasing the nerves and tension. Even if you just watch a casual game you can end up supporting a certain team based on the way they play and their personalities.

Things like sailing, cycling and moto are fantastic competitor sports but not really atmosphere based.

Things like Boxing and track would be between the two.

There are too many events. I'm confused about what to watch and can't keep up with everything. I know I will miss all the good bits :(

You'll probably not miss anything good if you stick with just watching the coverage on BBC1/2, though it may not be live that they show you it!

Yeah that is probably the best way! I was going crazy with the red button before trying to decide on the best stuff.

Never got into the Olympics before but this one is infectious!

Some of the more obscure sports are a great watch, but I've had to find them on the red button ... table tennis and handball being the main ones, and I missed the US basketball earlier which was a shame

Red button doesn't work very well on the gf's TV. Shame I missed that.

Yeah just stick to BBC1 or BBC2. If something comes on that bores you to tears (most of the team sports don't interest me at the Olympics) press the red button to watch fencing or something.

Also the highlights package on BBC1 at 10:30pm every night is pretty good, with some esteemed guests. Carl Lewis was on last night.

fecking missed the womens beach volleyball, shit!

Zoe smith in the womens weightlifting just broke the british record.

Good to see that dodgy judging in boxing carries into the Olympics as well... fella from Botswana just got totally robbed of a win.

And again in the Egypt/Kenya fight, honestly boxing is getting ruined at every level due to shitty judging.

Someone should really start to market women's volleyball, both beach and indoors. It's not a bad watch at all. Especially if there are some hot ones.

She'l be in the medals one day sure enough. And a great answer to those Twitter Trolls.

"It's two fingers up to them, basically," she added. "'What are you doing with your life? I've just competed at the Olympics!'"
