London 2012 Olympic Competition

Over now mate, he won 6-3 5-7 6-3

He lost a set in the first match? That's not good. I would really like for him to win the golden medal, cause he has never won it.

On another note, does somebody know when Basketball starts?

Wow he lost a set. Against some random fellow as well.

Honestly, though, it sucks watching the Olympics. Three channels broadcasting it and I can't watch Roger Federer.

I don't think you can read much into him losing a set. We've seen him do it many times but carry on unscathed anyway. I personally think he will win it this time since it's on his favoured grass surface.

Look at the bows they're using though! They should be using a big feck off longbow, see what they can hit then.

Longbow is designed to shoot a long distance and for the archers to be behind the wall and shoot instead of on top of it and being in danger. Not really the accuracy type from that sort of distance.

Are you for real? First you say he was by the far the best when there are at least 4 or 5 sprinters who could claim a win. Secondly, he evidently wasn't in the best position as his team fell about around him and he didn't come close to winning. I'm not sure when I said our team is better than the rest of the world, or even insinuated that. You would do well to cut the condescension out also.

Name the 4-5 sprinters who had a realistic chance of winning it then. As I see it, only Greipel would have a small chance of doing so, but the last stages of the Tour showed how superior Cavendish is. That is why the Germans wanted to save as many people as possible for a potential sprint put him in the best possible position.

Do you not agree that Cavendish is by far the best sprinter anyway?

Both me and King Eric have already tried to explain why Cavendish didn't simply join an attack. In order to raise his chances of winning he was in the best position. Just because it didn't work out doesn't change that.

If I'm being condescending it's only because it's quite obvious from your posts that you don't know what you're talking and because of your sarcastic posts (the ones Theon already quoted earlier) when people don't agree with you.

Great finish to the Archery. Italian fella had three seconds left and needed a ten to win and he pulled it off, right on the line. Brilliant.

16? fecking hell. Drugs?

C'mon. Swimmers are usually young although her age is in the lower range. Don't bring drugs into it just for the sake of argument.

I was only joking, but 16 is fecking ridiculous.

Missy Franklin was winning world championships at 16 last year. Thorpe was a star in Sydney at 17. It's the way it goes in that sport.

I can't see anything but china finishing top with probably even bigger margin.

They said on RTE that the 16 year old Chinese girl did the last 100m of her swim faster than any of the men did theirs, bar Phelps and Ryan. Mental!
