London 2012 Olympic Competition

Bron-Bron has taken control and US playing a lot better this quarter.

I love Kobe, but seriously pass the fecking ball. There are no excuses not to pass when you have LeBron, Durant, CP3... on your team.

Durant

USA chants, Fox News will be thrilled.

USA stepped it up this quarter and the game looks to be beyond Argentina. Much better offense except when Kobe decided to do everything himself.

FIBA refs are a disgrace.

Once again...FIBA refs everyone. I know multiple high school refs who are infinitely better than these assholes.

Harden hasn't been as impressive this tournament as I expected him to be.

5-0. If we meet them again, I hope we destroy Argentina. Bouncing Campazzo off the floor several times would be nice.

He doesn't live in Dewsbury does he?

Team Yorkshire are doing well!

He was born there, and he's down on the Olympics website as being "from" there... though, I'm sure he's got enough money (and sense) to be living elsewhere by now! His brother is down as being from Leeds.

United States of Yorkshire are riding high... they should just do the honourable thing and paint all the postboxes in the county Gold.

I think they're based over in Bingley now...made sense not to spend too long in Dewsbury ;)

Iceland currently has the 8th best female javelin thrower. How about that. Funny that. In most of the sports that we're competing in, GB aren't very good.

GB are indeed shit at Track & Field, apart from Ennis and Farah. Even the long jump bloke sort of won by default because everyone else is so bad.

34 GB athletes have picked up gold medals so far, 29 of them won while sitting down.

Looks like Brownlee for Gold and Bronze... and may well have been silver if not for that 15 second penalty for Jonny.

Great win and great bronze medal. Did themselves and us proud.

Brilliant race from the Yorkshire lads...shame about the 15 second penalty.

Really nice lads ( and Leeds fans ;) )....so pleased for them!

Stu Hayes deserves a lot of credit too for the part he played in the Brownlee's race.

A silver for Team GB in Windsurfing too apparently... which I didn't even know was going on!

A few other british sailors in good positions for the next few days. Watch this space...

So, with a few days to go, Britain have 19 Gold - just like in Beijing, and 47 guarenteed medals (4 in boxing), again like in Beijing. That's some performance.

Maybe you ought to make a thread about it like Gillespie did!

GB women just got Gold in dressage.

First time ever, wheyyyyy!

They must have given it to the person with the best execution score.

Ah interesting. Execution is what trumps difficulty on a tiebreaker. Sucks to lose that way. Would be awful had she lost out on bronze for the 2nd time whilst having tied.

Same thing happened to Louis Smith in the pommel horse. Got the exact score, but the Hungarian won gold by having a 0.1 better execution. Could tell Louis Smith was gutted, but it's how it happens.
