Def the real deal this season, with no obvious weakness and a clear DNA. Completely the opposite to us at the moment.....

You think? They have been poor so far this season but to their credit have ground out results - they are nowhere near the team people say they are.

My worst fecking nightmare - first time in 25+ years I am truly nervous about these twats winning the league. Makes me sick to my stomach openly hoping City wins it over them.

Not clicked yet going forward but it will soon. Even so, we created enough to score 4 or 5 today. The big positive is improved game management and defending.

You in a coma for 2014?

We’ve been here so many times before. They’ll win it one day but honestly I’ll need see that feckwit Henderson with the trophy in his hands before I’d believe it. They always fall away somehow.

I mean wasn’t the CL trophy meant for them last season? That’s what some on here feared. Then they got dicked.

I remember when we were sweeping all before us and posts like this were almost a daily occurrence in the RAWK thread. Liverpool fans saying "They're not even that good!" while all we did was win and win. Redcafe's turn now for desperate delusion.

They're an excellent side. That was a 2-1 hammering today, what did they have in end? 14 attempts on target away from home to Spurs and not a care in the world at the back? Super impressive.

The next month is crucial for them. But it's pretty ominous haw the looked much better than Spurs without leaving first gear.

But we actually won things! That’s the difference.

I don't get the hype around Liverpool, they didn't create chances much themselves, only punish for plenty of mistakes Spurs made, could score at least 3+. Unlike City, City doesn't rely on mistakes to grind out results, they will create a lot of chances and make any team look like second best, Liverpool couldn't.

....Knocking United off their perch. Worst nightmare.

We cannot lose that status. We just can't. :nervous:

Let’s be honest here they haven’t played well but 5 from 5 after a World Cup and international break is very good.

But some perspective

Spurs should have had a pen in last minute today mane on son was a stone Waller for me

They could have dropped points easily against Brighton at home

Could easily have dropped points against Leicester too

I still think they will have a problem with injuries

But so far can’t argue with the start they have made

Like playing first on the weekend as long as we win. Can just relax and watch the rest of the matches. Two weeks in a row of playing first.

The only positive is that City are a better footballer team.

Also the challenge on Son was a penalty.

This is shaping up to be a 'anyone but that mob' season. Which just makes our lack of ambition in the summer all the more infuriating.
Yeah I've had that feeling about this season for awhile. Shades of willing on City like 13/14. *vomits*

Easy to say all that but similar was said about City last season too. As long as they're getting the points, they're not going to care that much. They've got some big games over the next few weeks. Need them to drop points somewhere. Next 3 league games:

Southampton (h)
Chelsea (a)
Man City (h)

If they get 7 or more points from them, I don't think they'll look back.

Liverpool with a solid away performance today but let's be honest the praise is well over the top.

Spurs were awful, gave away two goals and still nearly nicked a point.

I'm not seeing anything from Liverpool yet that resembles what City did last season yet you have the likes of Souness putting them in the same bracket as Barca with Xavi, Iniesta and Messi. It's bizarre.

City were destroying sides though, they couldn't get ou of their own half.
We seem to be told Liverpool are on that level when they haven't been near that consistent quality that leaves you desperately hoping for dropped points.

Liverpool aren't playing well, front three are not fluid, but our defending has gone up another notch.

United in their pomp played poorly, but still won. That's what great teams do, somehow manage to win, that's all that matters.

feck Liverpool, we hear it every season and for the last 30 years they’ve been absolute nobody’s.. it will all end in tears.

Lads you are pissing yourselves off for something neither of us can controll. If they end up winning the league which I honestly don't think they will, I've said they'll probably end up 2nd or 3rd but as I was saying if they do end up winning it will truly stink but I would advise you to stop beating yourselves up over it. We need to focus on our own team because City Liverpool and Chelsea will probably end up top 3 and this leaves us and spurs fighting for 4th. Things can potentially go real bad for us this year and if it does then our own results combined with you lots fear of Liverpool winning the league will probably end up in meltdowns of calamitous proportions on here.

Pool not that good, but they keep winning. Solid is not a word normally associated with them and the biggest reason they never win anything.

Season's still very long though.

Gini scoring is always a bit conflicting. On one side aim chuffed for him on the other side, meh.

Love how they're getting compared to some of our best teams.
And they're yet to win anything.
Sure they look good now but it's a long season. I don't see them going like that the whole season.

I ain't getting carried away. The season is long, probably won't know who is the running until December/January.

5 wins and not playing well is good, but once the front three click together we will win by bigger margins.

In 16/17 Man City won their their opening 6 PL games and everyone thought they'd walk the league, yet they only ended up securing top 4 on the final day of the season. As Neville said in commentary, the drop-off from their front 3 to Sturridge/Shaqiri is huge so we'll see how they get on as the games pile up.

Indeed. Remember how distressing it was when they were on the verge of winning the league before The Slip? Or when they were one game away from winning the CL last season? They were much more likely to have won from those situations, and they still didn't. Save yourselves the angst and only worry about them winning stuff when they actually win stuff.

Well you have the same front 3 as last year.:) I get that you're getting carried away, it's normal but as you said we will see in December what's on.

Some of the comments in here are sickening. 5 games in and some supporters are already losing there shit.

If there are still top by Feb/Mar then maybe we should start worrying.

To be honest they don’t even look that good. And I am not buying the “sign of champions playing bad and picking up points” .

Personally I think they will burn out like they always do in the league bar 2009/2014. They will be out of the title race by Feb/Mar. Don’t let these Liverpool pundits feck with your heads.

So you weren't nervous is Moyes season ?

Three away wins already at tough venues is pretty impressive...you'd expect Liverpool to win majority of their games at Anfield.

Don't know if they'll win the league but fully expect them to shoot 80 + points so they'll be close.

They don't lose many but they drew a lot of games last season.

In my experience it's very hard to be brilliant in a league where you have to target around 100 points to win and do very well in CL at the same time too.

It's precise not only to have a world class squad, it has to be a historical one. Does Liverpool have one of those? I'm not that sure.

Horrible feeling wanting City not to lose just to deny the scousers. Feck sake.
