I think so too. Either way, I'm REALLY looking forward to playing Chelsea this year.

Yeah, games agaisnt Chelsea have mostly been cagey affairs where you never expect goals going into them dating back even to the times of Rafa x Mourinho. For the first time in years they are out to play dominant, progressive possesion football. their style brings the best of us and if the chances they conceded are anything to go by, there is no version of this current Liverpool team that will not score several against them, but we'll see.

You wouldn't be replying on a United forum if you didn't give a toss.

I mean those long winded debates where a rival says something about your club (probably to wind you up) then you feel the need to go on a crusade defending it. Whilst some may feel criticism of the club or it's staff personally, I mostly couldnt be bothered.

O

Seriously though why are there so many dippers on the caf ? I would never in a million years join another clubs forum it is quite pathetic if you ask me. @Bergman this isn't a question to you nor is it aimed just at you.

Redcafe I think has the largest pool of fans from top European clubs thats what I get out of it. I like reading from PSG, Madrid, Juve, Bayern, Feyernood, Sporting or Roma fans and you're certinly not going to find that on fecking RAWK . Ocasionaly I'd like to comment on those clubs. On a sidenote I dont reckon there's any Barca fans left on here

I'm sure there are few barca fans left on here.

I am all for having rival fans on here to add to all the debates but the place is practically becoming a Liverpool forum.

Well, one thing that United are better is in their fan forums, or at least, this fan forum. Obviously it'll be biased towards United but it's far far better than a lot of other forums. Don't get me started on RAWK.

Agreed, bar a few posters this is a great forum. Many people who respect other sides whilst supporting their own. It’s refreshing.

Great to see Liverpool spent all that money and got another Karius. He will lose them the key games just like the joker they had. And for all the biggest spenders this season, they really look bad. Leicester was unlucky, that would've been 4-2 to Leicester any other season. Other than thrashing basement boys West Ham, Liverpool have been scraping to wins. No idea why you are all talking them up.

Probably because he’s a proven world class keeper and anybody calling him another Karius is going to get badly shown up. His distribution, area command, and general ability is absolutely top class.

Oh... he made a mistake whilst getting fouled? Must be shit.

I think you are talking rubbish here. Leicester and Palace away is not an easy fixture by any stretch of the imagination. Liverpool have had a very good start to the season despite not getting out of second gear.
I’ve already addressed why those two fixtures have been easier than they already would be normally and as someone later pointed out in another thread, they won all of the corresponding fixtures last season. So yeah, did what was expected of them.

Proven world class ? Not there yet I'd say. He has the tools and the talent for sure but not there yet.

Klopp just knows the exact right way to play it out in front of media. He reminds me of Mourinho's first Chelsea stint. The press just used to lap up everything he said back then.

Huh ?

Where was the foul?

The media act like the local slags in a nightclub. A quick flash of a smile and they’ll believe everything he says even though it’s all a load of shite.

What a load of crap. You also dropped points when you played well. It works both ways.

Throughout a season most teams will have a few games where they feel they played well but didn't get the result they deserved. I'm specifically talking about the games where our performance level was poor against so called lesser teams. That is the whole point of what people are saying about our last two games. We got over the line despite not playing well. Last season when we didn't play well we dropped points.

So you are saying Liverpool have learnt to win 'ugly' this season.
Very early to make that statement. As I pointed out earlier, you beat Leicester and Crystal Palace last season by not playing well. Your problem last season, was dropping points against the other top 5 sides.

Well, he does talk some shite every now and then. But I think he was spot on in his response to the Mourinho question in this video.

I still think our main problem was our inability to defend leads. We were literally the worst in Europe at that. Losing 4-3 to Bornemouth after being 2-0 and then 3-1 up was a highlight, as was turning a 2-0 lead into 2-3 against arsenal. But it was a problem from the start, when we conceded in injury time to draw Watford, to the end, losing a 2-0 lead against WBA in the final 10 minutes.

I am encouraged not so much by our winning ugly as I am by the fact that we are able to see through games with defenders doing their part in winning us the game as well.

I think its too early to make blanket statements that we have learned to win ugly or win whilst playing poorly. But the early signs are good. You are right we were also poor against the other top sides but we dropped so many points against opposition we should have beaten as well.

We will learn a lot about how much we have progressed regarding performance against top sides in the 3 weeks after the intl break.

You can’t compare game to game. Their early season results last year they dropped points against poor sides and in second half of season dropped points against top 6 sides. It was a mixed bag all season. So far they have played games they would be expected to win and have won them. That is all that they can do

I didn’t say world class, but you just have to look at him last season to know he has been performing at a top level.

It’s quite bizarre, he made an error but he’s brilliant and has been for ages. That’s why he’s Brazil’s number 1 and Chelsea and Liverpool were willing to break the world record. He’s adjusting to the new league... he has been excellent so far, bar a feck up.

And drawing loads of games through having a poor defensive unit.

Couldn't agree more on this point. I joined recently after monitoring it for a while. Seems to have some sensible, balanced posters - less raving lunatics who are almost cultish in their blind support!

To me it's good to see some sensible debate between rival supporters. Makes for a much more interesting discussion.

Just noticed Salah, Firmino and Mane are all 26 years old (Firmino is 27 next month).

They are all basically in their peek years now.

Important Liverpool make the most of this front three before their powers begin to wane, especially given their game relies on pace/workrate.

Oh god it's not going to happen is it?

Very reminiscent of how City started last season whereby everything just looks to have clicked :nervous:

That's not how I see it. They've not played particularly well in the last 3 or so games, and have been fortunate their opposition has either finished poorly or had made thier own feck ups. It won't last forever.

Defensively they look comfortable though, if they keep grinding out wins while they're playing poorly that's a sign of a very good side

Doubt they’ll keep winning unless they up the performances though.

Not that Liverpool will care right now.

City will win it again but Liverpool will be a close-ish second (like 6-8 points behind). They may not be playing that well but 15/15 points at the start of the season will do wonders for the rest of the season.

I hate Liverpool and seriously hope they don’t end their famine anytime soon but there is something satisfying seeing those Gobby Cockneys getting tonked at home.

They look very impressive, should have had 6 or 7 today. Says a lot about how good they've become that strolling to a win v Spurs is now a "poor performance" for them.

Def the real deal this season, with no obvious weakness and a clear DNA. Completely the opposite to us at the moment.....

They have been decidedly lucky in a few games this season. Wait until the annual Kloppball burnout occurs and you’ll see them wilt, and maybe even before that. Not in the slightest bit concerned about them.

People saying they haven't played good and they're not worried...did they even watch the game?

Liverpool should have beat Spurs game 5-1.

Mane and Salah have been decidedly selfish this game...should have killed the game off.
