Sturridge, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Milner, Shakiri all make sense now. Really could have done with Ox too. Worried about VvD and Robertson, maybe Clyne or Gomez can cover LB?

Jesus the schedule is brutal. Big game Saturday our performances need to pick up.
Spurs away on the Saturday after the international break is poor timing, Firmino will be with Brazil and no idea what kind of condition he’ll be in given they play that Thursday I think.

This is where signing Fekir would have really helped us. I'd hate to have Sturridge or Lallana starting in any of these games except Chelsea in the cup, or Southampton.

Nah, Kane to reclaim his crown. ;)

It'll be between them two, definitely.

I had PAB for golden boot, but seeing how Arsenal have started, I've seen the error of my ways, and I'm instead voting for...

Aguero.

Sorry, Mo :(

But yeah, chuffed with the Chelsea draw in the league cup. Not too thrilled with our CL group as it lacks a big fixture but still is packed with tough teams, but heyo, what can you do.

Do you think Aguero will play enough games? Salah plays if he’s available but Pep likes to swap Jesus in and out.

Hopefully not :D We'll see. Who knows? Maybe City won't make it out of their CL group or past the next round in the cups - After all, they've got a difficult draw...

Oh wait, that's us.

Salah for the boot!

Yeah we're probably one elite attacker short, a lot depends on Sturridge and Shaqiri this season given they should see a lot of minutes.

Agree. Brighton made it a frustrating afternoon at times and the front 3 were certainly no where near their best. Some credit must go to Brighton for that too.

Keh?? It was a classic Klopp goal. Milner presses the player in possession, wins it and then it's a super quick transition and goal, all done within the opponents half.

What I would say is that both Klopp and Mourinho would agree that football games are generally won by the team that makes the least amount of errors. The big difference between the two is that Klopp will try and force an error (as against Brigton) while Mourinho prefers to wait for one and pounce on it.

it was just a daft mistake, opportunist by Milner. I thought Milner had a good game.

We seriously are put to test if we have the goods or not in all competitions in the next 2 months. If last season we got lucky with draws then this year things have been evened out. Chelsea twice and other very tough fixtures too. Make it or break it time.

Reckon we'll be giving the league Cup a pass this season.

Put the second string team out. I'm sure Chelsea will do the same. This gives the first team a rest. Not too bothered by this one, but would be nice to still be in contention.

Out at the first time of asking last year though, wasn't it? Klopp bringing it in line with the FA Cup for your lot
Honestly, and you might (rightfully) bring out the "any trophy would be good for you lot" line, I couldn't care less about the League Cup. It's come to a point where it's just a nuissance for other competitions and I'd only start to care if we got to the semis or something. It's like getting a side dish for free while they're not bringing the main dish you went to the restaurant for in the first place.

To be honest, I have no great affection for it either. It's very much a second string/bedding in youngsters type affair. Think if you can reach the semi-finals you go for it, but before then I don't think any of the top sides put much stock in it. It's a nice thing to wave around alongside another trophy, but it's never going to make a season on its own.

Last season though you got beat by Leicester when you had Gomez, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Ox and Coutinho in your starting line-up, and they went without Schmeichel, Mahrez and Vardy.

Not sure what your excuses are for the FA Cup though. Your record in that under Klopp is nothing short of abysmal. Taken to a replay by Exeter, then beaten by West Ham in a replay the round after, taken to a replay by Plymouth, then beaten at home by Wolves the round after, and beat Everton at home (when don't you?) only to lose at home to West Brom at home the round after.

Why? Don't want to lose to Chelski at Anfield.
We have bigger fish to fry this season and this run of fixtures will go a long way towards determining where we are at with the big tournaments.

We don't have the squad to compete seriously in four tournaments. Picking a strong team has a cost for the surrounding league games. Which are vastly more important.

I think it Boom-shaq-shaq time and Fabinho too for the leagu cup at least. We will use the current strongest for the Leicester as then it's the international break time, bu after that...

Was almost caught last week too.

Antics? I assume that you would rather he just blast the ball forward rather then try and keep possession?

Well, I guess we’ll just disagree on this. He’s a footballer who can do more then just block shots and blast the ball up the field. Yeah, we may lose a goal or two along the way but he’s exactly the type of goalkeeper we need.

Still think keeping possession was the right thing to do? Made to look a right numpty then.

Game was a bit whatever, with Leicester being the better team in the second half, but have to be happy with the win.

Anyway, sod all that - James Milner hits 100 games for Liverpool :) Was quite content with the signing originally, but never got too excited about it... However, he's been absolutely solid for us for the past few years, and I'm really glad he's here.

We don’t control games at all. That’ll be what stops us from winning the league imo.

City control most of the games they play.

feck me, I need some fresh air after that. Second half was the worst display I've seen in a while from this team. Spurs will be a huge test.

Allison got away with it last week, and just about did today (as we won). Will need to be much more careful from now on.

Now, which of our key players' turn is it to get injured during the international break?

Going to Palace and Leicester whilst getting 3 points from both games is huge. Lot of teams will drop points there. This is why I think Liverpool will win the league.

I've not really been thinking of the title, and after watching the Leicester game I'm not convinced we can do so if we keep to this level.

I know they have won all their games so far so this will sound a bit silly, but im not as worried about them as i was at the start. Maybe i'll do another 180 once Fabinho and Keita are settled.

Agree, but midfield is a huge part of that and we knew the capability of Hendo-Wij-Milner already. Henderson in particular was shocking today - very little press resistance.
