I agree to a point...but Klopp for me is the difference. Sure the transfer committee have done good work but it's klooK that got the best out of players. Remember Firmino was bought under Rodgers reign and until Klopp came in he was considered a flopp.

Same as lovren and Henderson, many thought these two would be first out of the door but they have both prevailed. Even the much teased Moreno was considered the most consistent player up until Robertson came in. I still remember Liverpool fans worrying about Moreno's injury before Robertson came in. Same applies to Lallana, he had his best season under klopp. If you can bring out the best in those players then I think it's more to do with Klopps man mamagemana and coaching ability than the transfer committee.

Yep, I consider him a one of a kind coach in the modern era, banter and bias aside. The zero trophies is not a slight on him, if you keep playing this way, trophies are secondary as football is all about entertainment first. But I reckon he must be pretty disappointed inside to keep missing out on the trophies (IF City win the league), so it remains to be seen if he can continue to motivate the squad. It will be a big test of his management skills next season because ultimately players aren't fans and need trophies to continue buying into the manager's philosophy.

Wouldnt have him in your team would you ??

Is there no Newport County forum available for you to peruse & make valuable contributions in the direction of?

Before I start being rude about John Aldridge again.

No (on principle)

We've got loads of top quality centre halves.

Yeah, I see something similar happening. I have no idea how we stop City at this point.

I also feel Klopp and the board will have their resolve tested over the summer with Real coming in for Mane and Barca for Salah.

What's the likelihood of a bid being accepted, assuming it's a fair one?
I think it would take a huge bid from either of those clubs for either of those players for us to agree. Both are on long term contracts and Madrid are meant to be going for Hazard, which makes me think it'll rule out them signing one of ours.

Our must keep players for the summer are Alisson, Van Dijk, TAA, Robertson, Mane, Salah & Firmino.

Who's side are you on?
To be perfectly honest, I don't care too much who wins.

I do like to see Pep do well, so it would be nice to see him win another league title. On the other hand, the meltdown on the Caf would be legendary if Pool win, it could even become the biggest meltdown in internet forum history.

:D - it might not be terribly pretty, that's fair.

quietly confident for tonight?

Firmino is disposable, I think, if a big bid comes in. Someone with similar link up ability and work rate but more clinical would be a scary upgrade for you.

The thing is, both of those clubs can offer huge bids if necessary.

Hazard was supposed to leave Chelsea years ago, yet he's still there clinging on.

Liverpool can expect to make around £100 million in player sales this summer and will clear a lot of big wages off the wage bill also.

I see the definite outgoings as, Sturridge, Moreno, Mignolet, Clyne, Ings. Likely outgoings, Wilson and Grujic if they get the asking price. Other potential sales of Lovren, Lallana,Origi and maybe even Milner if he wants to go back to Leeds?

That leaves a squad of
Goalkeeper Alisson ,Kelleher plus 1?
Full backs, T AA and Robertson plus 2?
Centre backs VVD, Matip, Gomez plus 1?
Midfield Fabinho,Henderson, Keita, Oxlade, plus 2.
Attackers Salah, Mane,Firmino, Brewster, Shaqiri plus 1.

So maybe 7 players, although the GK and fullbacks will only be backups. The priority will be midfielders and an attacker.
There have been some rumours about De Ligt also which would be incredible, but unlikely in my opinion.

I think we'll keep a clean sheet, or concede one goal at most.

Famous last words? Perhaps, but I just don't rate Shaqiri and Origi at all. Liverpool are also lacking creativity in midfield without Keita.

If Liverpool are ever serious about becoming one of the big boys again, they need more creative midfielders, and better attacking subs.

What a twist. They’ll lose the league but still get to embarrass City’s victory parade.

Klopp is masterful. They are going somewhere with him.

Liverpool winning CL and City winning domestic treble. Feck this season.

Hat off tonight. Thought Barca were still well in control at half-time but didn't see that total wipeout in the second half coming.

Hate football now.

I'm going to end myself

They played well tonight, Ter Stegen should have saved one of the goals, but honestly Barca were awful.

Dont try to kid me, if he signed for you, you would have had your trousers around your ankles in 5 mins

Perhaps, after all the giddy-ness we've had since their 0-3 loss, we have to remind ourselves now that there is still one game to play in the PL.

I bow to your knowledge

After years of being shit, why did they have to get good when we collapsed? Could it not have been fecking Spurs or someone?

Going somewhere? They reached the CL final last year, are on 94 points with a game left this year, and another CL final this year. He's already taken them to the top and now they're overwhelming favourites to win the CL. Hate them as a club, but you have to respect how they've gotten where they have with Klopp. They play great football, they use young players, they spend within their means, they have a lot of british players, and they're competing for every trophy. Just look at their squad before he took over til now. Crazy turn around. feckers.

Yep, he's a genius. But caf are hanging on that "he's won nothing" thread, deluding themselves that even if it's not this year, there is a clear revival going on at Liverpool since he took over and the football is great.

the premier league is the one they wanted, do not let anyone tell you different.

But that was a quite brilliant comeback.
