United fans will say that the league isnt competitive and Liverpool fans will say that it is. I lean towards the fact that it is more competitive at the moment. 4 English teams made it to the group stages and we have 2 in the semis of CL. Next year there could be 5 teams (but unlikely). I think the league is very competitive, but money is the deciding factor is how well you spend your money on resources as a club. Liverpool and City are just doing that job better overall. Spurs decided to spend it on a stadium, Chelsea are trying to be self-sustaining, Man Utd are hopefully coming to the end of overspending B class talent and Arsenal have just started to move away from the Wenger era.
My club Liverpool appear to have been good with regard to planning for the future, they have had a clear plan and gone for it, no dilly-dallying or being out off by alternative strategies. Wasnt easy though was it? I think we made top 4 for the last two years by the skin of our teeth even with all that good planning. Man utd have more money (and pulling power?) so maybe it should be easier for Man Utd to get back to winning ways.
